This old world charm hotel is authentic in many ways. From the beautiful stained glass windows, the three fireplace common rooms and the mix and match furniture scattered throughout the hotel. Staff are friendly, location is equidistant between Katoomba station and Echo Point which is very convenient as a base for lots of options. Our twin room was no exception of an old world charm hotel. Effectively two rooms with a bathroom off the room furtherest from the door. This makes sense if one of you is more susceptible to night time bathroom visits. Stay comes with complimentary breakfast, so wise up to travel booking sites that tries to sell you breakfast. Visited in a peak travel period during FIFA world cup so prices were higher. The cute hotel bar is only open to 6pm - unfortunately didn't use it but would have if it was open till 7pm. Guest parking was full but plenty of available street parking.

Stayed in the two bedroom unit. Kitchen has all the basics. Good beds and two bathrooms. Walls dirty but otherwise very clean unit. You can hear some noice from the street but it didn’t bother us. The unit has one window to look out and one that has coloured glass so you can’t see through and this makes the unit dark. We didn’t care because we just needed a place to sleep and enjoyed the sceneries all day out hiking. Very friendly and attentive staff.

The room is quite big and there is a small sofa. There are two bottles of milk and two bottles of water in the refrigerator. To be honest, I stayed in so many hotels with similar prices this time, and this one was the only one with water, which made me cry. The entire house is in retro style, and there are fireplaces and sofas in the public areas. However, check-in at the front desk is until 5 pm, and no one will be there any later. I saw that Ctrip showed that it was before 00:00, so I went there after 8 pm, but there was no one there. Later we communicated on the phone, and the key was left in the key box for us. We took the key to the room by ourselves, which was pretty smooth ~ overall very good satisfy

The location is not on the main street, but driving is no problem. It's very quiet at night, and you can watch the stars while standing in the yard. There is a microwave and simple tableware in the room. The key is that the price is very beautiful

Amazing hotel and I had the most wonderful stay here. The hotel employees are very helpful and caring. The breakfast variety is great, had many options to choose from. The views from the restaurant are breathtaking, overlooking The Valley. They have a golf course joint to the hotel area. And it’s very convenient.

Unfortunately we started off on a bad foot when we had to wait in excess of an hour past our book in time for our room to be ready, then when we did finally get in, the TV remote wouldn't work and to turn it on manually meant it was stuck on one channel with no volume. Went back to reception and swapped batteries which didn't help, then we're told that thier maintenance people wouldn't be back until Monday so nothing they could do. To thier credit they did extend our check out time by an hour and provided breakfast at thier sister property in Katoomba. The property is in need of some TLC and to call them luxury apartments is a bit of a stretch, but they are in good condition overall. To access the studio lofts are up a rather tall flight of stairs that doesn't have a hand rail all the way, and the step treads are rather small (only just over half the length of my foot) which will make it very difficult for anyone with mobility issues. The room does have a kitchenette, but the only thing to cook with is a microwave, no hot plate or frypan included, so bring plastic wrap, paper towel etc with you, aswell as cutlery as there was only 1 knife, 3 forks and heaps of spoons. Room had a nice gas log fire place though we needed the a/con to help heat the room. Also a super sized 2 person spa that's so deep that if your not particularly tall you'll struggle to get in and out of. The shower is over the spa and with the weird uneven base, it makes it difficult to stand in to shower, aswell as a lack of grab rails anywhere.

The KYAH looks so lovely on the internet and upon arrival in the public spaces as well as at first glimpse in the room. However, once you look more in detail as you stay in the room and would like to have a good time relaxing and enjoying the Blue Mountains, you will discover, it is not worth the price. Design ist nice and fancy, however the bathrooms will need some refurbishment soon. Nonetheless, I have never seen so much mould in the room itself. This is very dangerous, especially when you not just for one night and are with your whole family including Infant. I have never seen so wet windows after just sleeping which explains the mould. In addition, after having a shower the whole bathrooms hast hundreds of drops from the very low ceiling. While adressing these problems to staff, no real interest in solving the problems were shown. While the remote control was not working, this was solved quickly by replacing batteries. Breakfast was very disappointing. E.g. toast was empty and it was said, there is none anymore available. However, while having a glimpse to the kitchen, there was a full package of toast handled by one of the kitchen staff, but not for the tiny buffet. Dinner at BLAQ was tasty and staff very nice. The rest ist design and in my personal opinion very disappointing and way too expensive ”hospitality”. Better going elsewhere next time.

Very good, the environment is really good and the rooms are also very good. However, on the way to two train stations from Katoomba, the Blue Mountain Line trains are not frequent, so if there is no train, look at the timetable. There is not much to eat around, so supper and breakfast should be prepared in advance or think of a good way. There are also several breakfast brunch shops in the town of Blackheath. Overall perfect score

GGuest UserBooked this hotel because of the convenience of transportation. It is close to the train station, and the departure station of the red double-decker bus No. 1 to the Blue Mountains is also across the road from the hotel. (see last picture)
This is a hotel with a long history, and the facilities have a sense of history. For example, the door of the elevator is an iron door that needs to be closed by itself, and it can only seat up to four adults. The hotel's restaurant, reception room, and library are all very historical and cultural. I've seen too many horror movies, don't live if you're afraid of this style.
The rooms are clean with high ceilings. It's just that it's an antique hotel style that everyone didn't see much before. My room has a wardrobe and a bright mirror facing half of the bed. It's hard to say.
Buffet breakfast is bread fruit and milk. Single than the average hotel. If you want to eat better, order your own food.
The aunt at the front desk of the hotel was quite enthusiastic. We checked out and went to the Blue Mountains to play and told us not to worry, play slowly, and the luggage will be looked after for us. Then.... didn't give any luggage storage receipt, just let us go... It's more primitive, but the people are very hospitable. When she came back in the afternoon to pick up her luggage, she greeted her warmly as soon as she entered the door. Maybe there are no other Asian guests in the whole hotel. Finally, I would like to add that most of the guests of this hotel are middle-aged and elderly tourists, mainly Australians. Young friends don't like this style of detour.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in a historic site and is very classically decorated. The attitude of the staff is very friendly, and there is live piano performance in the evening. The breakfast quality is high and there are many choices. The hotel can see the sunrise of the Blue Mountains, highly recommended! The only thing to note is that the hotel does not have a lift!
GGuest UserA little disappointed. On arrival room ac did not work. Had to get hotel staff to clean the filter which was full of dust.
There was a stale smell from the carpet, so had to leave patio door open for first 30 minutes each time we arrived. We did not create a fuss since we were only there for 2 nights.
There were all the all the things like microwave, toaster, etc. The location is good with walking distance to restaurants etc.
GGuest UserBeautiful property. Stunning gardens. Very friendly staff. Spacious family twin rooms. Awesome breakfast. Breakfast/restaurant staff must be commended on their hospitality. They were very sensitive to our religious diet needs and approached us on their own to accommodate our needs. Absolutely amazing. Huge thank you.
GGuest UserWe booked this for location and restaurant, location of what we needed was great, cleanliness was average the room smelt musty and obviously the curtains had not been cleaned for some time nor were they moved for cleaning behind the curtains, went and asked about the restaurant and breakfast which is no longer in operation however is still advertised on the website and in the hotel information in the rooms. trying to organise some form of dinner was minimal due to no availability for uber eats or other alternative options.
JJISHIYAThe hotel is located on the edge of the town centre, ten minutes walk from the train station, and the surrounding supermarkets and restaurants are complete. The facilities are old but the overall decoration is still very retro and the staff are very welcoming. Breakfast is very common Australian food and not very tasty, but still acceptable.
The Hydro Majestic is a beautiful old hotel from a bygone era that has been lovingly restored to reflect its past splendour. This alone is enough reason to stay, but a good hotel is more than a building. We had a truly memorable stay at the Hydro. One member of our party had some special needs, and the reception staff who were particularly helpful were able to accommodate us at short notice. notice. The staff were pleasant and attentive but never intrusive. Our dinner at the Wintergarden was simply delicious, topped off by a stunning sunset over the Meggalong Valley. A special mention to Marcus who gave us the fascinating history tour of this wonderful hotel. Thank you - a class act.
Mmei’s tripClose to within 5 minutes walk from the station ◎
the bus stop to the blue mountains is right in front of you.
It is better to ride at the station in front of one station because there are not many people.
No dryer, tissue.
the hotel check-in counter is at the restaurant
It was a little difficult to understand at the accounting.
I was able to shop at the supermarket for dinner and get a fork and knife at the restaurant.
GGuest UserOn arrival the place appeared rundown but not terribly bad. We arrived late and settled into a shared 4 bed dorm. We got lucky and it was just us to start. After an hour of sleep on a bed of rocks, a guest (who was called an annoyance by staff to me) was placed in our room. The gentleman was drunk and noisy upon arrival, up and down with all the lights on and off at least once an hour. This would have been fine except I was informed by an unapologetic and rude staff member the next day (hours after checking out) that there was a spare room he could have been placed in. Being in a shared dorm you expect other travellers, we ourselves had just driven for 15 hours from queensland. The first thing we were hoping to do upon arrival was shower, alas there was no towels to be found anywhere in the premises. And not for a lack of searching either as I searched both that night and the next morning before we left. The room was provided with a tiny electric space heater, which combined with a broken window and high ceilings, did nothing to keep any heat as we froze in our beds all night to the sound of our roommates jet plane snoring. The next morning we promptly checked ourselves out by 10am. Whilst we waited to see if any staff would show (in case you're wondering, they didnt), we shopped around online for a new hotel. Having found a new hotel who could get us in (and with a working shower) by 11am we sent a text to the property asking them to contact us. I prebooked 2 beds for 10 nights, of which we stayed for 1. None of which has been refunded, or acknowledged, after multiple attempts to contact the hostel I was told to take it up with booking.com from the rudest staff member I had yet to speak to. After following all the steps on booking.com I was ignored by the property for 10 days. In this time I have called and sent multiple messages to the property. I would not recommend my worst enemy stay with the conditions we were greeted with. I am yet to receive any communication from the hostel regarding my stay.
The ”guesthouse” seems to be the upper part of a converted theatre building. Next door is a motel which is part of the business and presumably was separate from the theatre historically. There is a bar (not open). There are children's toys and books available in the lobby area together with out of date textbooks and other reading material. There is a pool (empty and filthy but to be fair it was way to cold to swim). The rooms are pretty bad but variable. My friend and I had rooms next door and his was considerably better than mine in several ways (quality of furniture etc). The rooms look like they are furnished at random with things collected from the side of the road. Maintenance is poor with unpainted sections of walls and mould in the bathroom. There were hairs in the bed and used tissues in the sofa. The floor boards creak with the slightest movement and sound proofing is non existent making sleeping difficult if a person in the room above moves an inch. Ok the plus side the building is kind of cool. Also it's only a few minutes walk to the centre of Katoomba. The three sisters are also (just) within walking distance. But for these factors it would be a one star review.
