The hotel lobby was nice. However, we were disappointed with our room, 1105. It had air conditioning but no real cooling, yet we stayed two nights in it. We contacted the front desk, who said they would check, but they didn't tell us the results. They also didn't offer to change our room. The water heater was very hot, and even when switched to cold, it didn't immediately cool down. Although we were trekking in Nepal and had walked and climbed many stairs, the hotel elevator malfunctioned, forcing us to continue our stair-climbing training after our trek. We were staying on the third floor. Also, the Chinese food we ate at the hotel the first night caused two of my friends to have persistent diarrhea the following day.

Lakhey Hotel is the best hotel in Kathmandu! The staff are super friendly, check-in is very easy, and they always help me get a taxi. They offered a welcome drink, which was lovely. The boss speaks excellent Chinese and even arranged a trek for me—very satisfying! Hot water is great, breakfast is delicious, and their Sichuan restaurant has amazing food (must try!). After my EBC trek, I stayed here again because I missed Chinese food. Location is nice, rooms are big—I stayed in room 1108 with a beautiful Kathmandu city view. Highly recommend to everyone. Very satisfied with Lakhey Hotel service. Best of luck to the team—hope to see you again!"**

Chinese visitors to Kathmandu should definitely stay here. The owner is handsome and speaks excellent Chinese. He's always enthusiastic and helpful if you have any issues. The Sichuan food is authentic, and it's only a ten-minute walk to Thamel. This is my second time staying here, highly recommended!

What's most important for someone like me, who isn't great at English, is that the front desk ladies and the owner all speak Chinese, which is super convenient. They can also help you call a taxi or answer the phone when you're heading out. The room was very clean! If I ever come back to Nepal, I'll definitely choose this hotel again.
