K - Town Hotel

My room at K-town was simple, but newly renovated, comfortable, clean & safe. Perfect for a solo traveller in town for work. The room felt spacious, even with a large bed, armchair, fridge & shower. I liked that you could open windows with fly wire for some fresh air & the overhead fan. There is attention to detail for ambience & small comforts, like soft outdoor lighting, reading lamp, artwork & cute teacups. The garden, pool & outdoor seating are an added bonus. Friendly staff who want you to enjoy your stay.

Nice clean hotel! Newly done up! Loved the pool especially in the NT🥵 and easy check in! Accessible after hours with your own access key. AC in rooms were nice n cold. Had Netflix! We stayed in the family room!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - this MOTEL Large, beautiful clean rooms with king beds. Very large fridges, large TVs, large bathrooms and fantastic showers. We booked one night and ended up staying two! The restaurant is an added bonus, the food was delicious and very well priced. GREAT VALUE - CALL - Zalal

We are a family of 5 and stayed at the K-Town for one night during our stay in Katherine. It is a great value place to stay - newly painted and renovated - very fresh and clean. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment which had its own washing machine and was very well equipped for a comfortable stay. The staff were fantastic, welcoming and very helpful. Thank you K-Town!

Terrible place. Seemed full of permanent residents and on early departure couldn't get front sliding gate to open.

Whilst this property is renovated backpackers - the price of $249 a nite is absolutely not warranted. Staff, as mentioned in most other feedback, are very accommodating, however there are a few things that dont work well for solo female travellers. Curtains were quite small and i was unable to completely close them and as windows are low enough anyone walking past can look in, so all rather disconcerting. As also mentioned previously, property has safety gate that is locked @ 7:00 pm .. however if you are returning after that time you actually have to get out of your car to enter gate code .. again as a solo female - very uncomfortable especially with current level of crime in Katherine. On the plus side .. there is a full size fridge if that's helpful for you .. Overall hopelessly overpriced - perhaps would stay again if price was half

I stopped off in Katherine for two nights at the K Town and so glad I did. It has been newly renovated and everything is new and fresh. Thanks to Hasan and the team for the warm welcome. Lovely comfy bed and pillows, and most excellent fans and refrigerated air conditioners. Also, a large fridge, microwave, kettle and Dilmah tea bags, and a huge television with Netflix, You Tube and ABC news. After highway travel and cruising Nitmiluk Gorge (25kms down the same road) it was a joy to relax and watch a decent television with lovely air conditioning. K Town is very close to all shops and cafes so dinner and lunch was simple. On my second night there (10 Jan 2023) , at 03:17am the entire NT was rocked by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake. I was woken up by the fan clanking and the windows bellowing back and forth. The hotel was shaking and the ground was shaking for almost three minutes, which felt like an eternity. Hundreds of birds flew into the sky from the huge trees opposite and dogs were barking all over town. All guests were in the car park. Luckily, there was no damage and this good little hotel held its ground. I held onto the white verandah outside, upstairs, and again I could feel the cool white floor under my feet. By time the earthquake had subsided I was still shaking but again it was the lovely coolness of the white floors that kept me cool and grounded. Funny how these memories are made, and for that reason I will be back for a future visit when I'm next in this interesting town. Thank you to Hasan and the team.

Ok so I will be honest and say I was a little concerned when I first drove up, seeing shopping trolleys, potholes and graffiti at the entrance. The reception office was basic but staff were very efficient and welcoming. Upon entering the room I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room. The furniture looked relatively new and was adequate. Aircon was cold and quiet and the ceiling fan spun without ticking, so everything good so far. I’m guessing the balcony had been hosed down before I got there and water had gone under the door and made its way across the floor. Bit slippery but easy to clean up. At night the inside lights attracted some large bugs that came under the door. Nothing alarming and I flicked them out, but I think some simple rubber seals on the bottom of the doors would fix both issues. A couple of things I’d like to see added: - Some clothes hanging space. - Some simple cutlery and “maybe” a microwave. The fridge is full size but there’s no kitchen utensils other than coffee cups and wooden sticks for stirring. - Spare pillows. Most rooms have 2 spare pillows in the wardrobe. I guess there’s no wardrobe so maybe that’s why there’s no spare pillows 🤷‍♂️. Overall the place is great for a night or two. It’s clean, secure, and has a pool the kids will love. Don’t let the frontage turn you off this place.
