A beautiful, classic European-style hotel. The staff were attentive and polite. The French dinner was outstanding, both in terms of ingredients and preparation. The room was spacious and clean. The only downside is that the location is a bit far from the city center, so it's much more convenient if you have a car.

Le Grand Karuizawa Hotel & Resort is a perfect place for great views, relaxation and luxury retreat. We stayed on the top of the resort where the view of the Asama Mountain is breathtaking. The room is spacious but cozy. The dinners were very good. We stayed two nights (half board), the two fine-dining French dinners with local ingredients we had were superb. The courses served at the dinners didn’t have any repeat. I will definitely come here again for other seasons.

Highly recommend! This is the best hotel in Karuizawa. The hotel has a very understated European style, and it took me quite a while to find the lobby. 😂😂😂 The room is huge; for this price point, it might just be the biggest room in all of Japan. The hotel is famous for its Western cuisine. Dinner and breakfast for three people only cost a little over 5000 RMB. If I ever come back to Karuizawa, I'll definitely be staying here again.

We stayed for two nights on a family trip. The hotel is a luxurious establishment with three hotels, a chapel, and a wedding reception hall on a vast site of 230,000 square meters, and we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing time. The breakfast buffet and French dinner were delicious, and the service was excellent. There was also a large hot spring bath, and there was plenty of greenery, so it was a pleasant walk. I recommend staying two or even three nights instead of just one.

This is a relatively Western-style hotel. The views from the mountaintop rooms are great, and the rooms are incredibly large, even in Japan. However, I feel some of the details aren't as good as those at a hot spring hotel. You can order Japanese and French food in the evening, and the food is quite good. The hotel staff's English is average. If you stay in a mountaintop room, you'll need to call the shuttle bus frequently. For convenience, stay in the main building. For the view, stay in a mountaintop room.

The bar on the mountain provides free drinks and the angle for taking photos is very good. The design style is completely European, and it feels like a vacation in Europe. It is a good place to relax and feel happy.

The hotel is 15 minutes away from Karuizawa Station by car. There is a shuttle bus to the pick-up station. You can see the hotel pick-up area when you get off the elevator at the south exit of Karuizawa Station. Please pay attention to it. If you can't find it, you can only take a taxi. I arrived at 2 pm and checked in early. This is a large castle-style resort. My room has a small balcony and flowers are blooming in the courtyard. Although it is not a mountain view, it is not bad. Wendian and Wanping are no longer online in terms of management. It should have been a very good resort before. Now it is old and large in size, with low management level and average business. It feels like barely maintaining. I sat in the room and saw obvious dust everywhere. The hotel's sanitation is just acceptable on the surface and far from Japanese cleaning. It is not a problem of changing rooms. The room is old in color, and the board furniture is very old and low-end. A closer look shows that there is dust everywhere. I actually wiped the dust for half an hour in the Japanese hotel before I could sit down. The hotel has a beautiful environment with three chapels. The gardening is online. The roses are very well taken care of, but it is not the season. It is very pleasant to take a walk, with birds singing and flowers blooming. The hotel has two hot spring areas. The public hot spring has a coupon that allows you to have a drink at the restaurant next to it. Both hot springs are very good and worth soaking in. The dinner is Western food, which is excellent for the price. The breakfast buffet is average. If you don't include meals, you can eat soba noodles next to the public hot spring for dinner. There is also a cafe, but there is no food for breakfast, and there is no convenience store. The room facilities say that there is a safe in the closet, but it is not opened. The curtains are leaking a lot of light and wake up early. The tea bar on the second floor hot spring and the viewing terrace provides very poor things, especially the cappuccino made by the coffee machine splashing everywhere without milk and the coffee is also unpalatable. Check out at 11 o'clock. There is a shuttle bus to the station at 11:10. It's a pity that the surrounding environment is so good that it is much better than Indigo, but it is not well managed. This situation can only get worse and worse until it goes bankrupt.
