Retro Kaohsiung

The bathroom floor is old and in disrepair, and the soundproofing needs improvement. The room cleaning wasn't done according to standard operating procedures. While I don't expect perfection, a basic level of hospitality is essential.

Very close to Formosa Boulevard MRT Station, about a 5-10 minute walk. The room environment was great, and the front desk staff were very professional and friendly. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Kaohsiung.

Very good. Although the location is about a 5-10 minute walk from the subway station, the room's facilities and cleanliness were much better than expected. For this price, it's definitely worth it. Recommended!

Stayed here for 2 nights. It's super convenient for both the MRT and the night market. They even have a designated parking lot. The room was quite spacious, clean, and tidy, with bright lighting. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The value for money is incredibly high, simply amazing!

The hotel is an old one that's been renovated, but the bathroom hasn't been updated – you can still see the old fixtures. The room was comfortable, and the air conditioning was excellent, so I slept well. There isn't a convenience store nearby, which is a bit inconvenient, but the room rate was really cheap. I'd consider staying here again.

The location is great, close to Formosa Boulevard MRT station, making transportation very convenient. There are also plenty of food and drink options nearby, and Liuhe Night Market is within walking distance. For the price, it offers really good value for money. The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great. However, if I visit Kaohsiung again, I'd still choose to stay here! 🤭

I stayed for 6 days and 5 nights. All the staff were friendly, and the room condition was good. It was a bit annoying that you had to specifically request room cleaning in advance for it to happen. It would be much better if they had a 'do not disturb/please clean' sign system to hang on the doorknob. Also, the laundry room was actually unavailable, so I was directed to a laundromat about 3 minutes away. That was a real shame, but I managed to get my laundry done in the end. Other than that, I didn't experience any inconvenience during my 6-day stay. Just a heads-up, there's a microwave in the lobby on the first floor. For the in-room air conditioning, you can adjust the intensity or turn it off completely using the light switch. Given that Taiwan is notorious for extremely loud scooters, definitely bring earplugs! Your sleep quality will suffer greatly without them. Remember, earplugs! Overall, I was satisfied with the room itself, and the location was also great.
