I was at Tahir Gues Palace with collegues from work and stayed in this hotel. It is one of the nice hotels in the heart of Kano State. Athough still undergoing some expansion, it provided the conducive atmosphere for any willing client. The rooms are extremely spacious but the meals are nice but pricey. I will always be willing to stay at Tahir any time.

Arrived in the early hours of the morning after a gruelling experience with the airline. The great thing though was that the hotel continued to call me throughout, tracking our progress and ensured there was a taxi waiting to drop us off at the hotel on arrival at the airport. Idris, the Reservation officer was especially great at checking on our progress all through. He is a credit to the hotel and we really appreciate his concern for our well being. It went beyond the call of duty. The taxi was old, rickety and not large enough for us three passengers but the gesture is appreciated. On arrival at reception, it took some time to complete registration formalities and wasn't sure the reason for this as there were at least three hotel staff looking after the customer contact points. We booked the executive suites, mine, just off reception was large and therefore, spacious. The bed was comfortable but the air condition was noisy and barely able to cool the room. If at all possible, hotel management should consider an upgrade. Rooms were cleaned and replenished each day we were there. Very good. The reception were good at ordering taxus even at the busiest times. Reception could be a little manic at certain times. The restaurants were okay and we especially appreciated the one that catered exclusively to Nigerian cuisine, the food was great, in sufficient quantities and staff were attentive. The bar could offer more variety, for example, they ran out of certain drinks and the alternative offered was inadequate. However, for us the positives outweighed the negatives. We would be back.

My experience at Tahir Guest House is a typical example of Äll that glitters is not gold" My team and I had earlier made reservations via mail to the manager Mr. Muhammed for 4, who acknowledged and we were confirmed to arrive. At the risk of repeating my ordeal, I will paraphrase.. but I have got evidence that these guys lack integrity, loyalty, and sympathy. On arrival after a late-night flight, we thought all that was going to welcome us was a warm smile and a bed. Our calabash of hopes was broken when we were told by the unwelcoming reception to give way as he was busy with other things. We stood still and watch him allocate rooms to all who came after us and even passengers we saw on the flight. The next thing he came up with was that we have to share a room or two max as they do not have any rooms for us. Astonished by this, we asked to see management and he said he was in direct communication with the manager and so it did not matter. He eventually gave out the rooms and let us to the prey of the night. At a time when insecurity was at its peak, we had to search for rooms in Kano late at night (1:30 am) Did I mention that the manager asked them to get a next-door substandard hotel for the same price so they can give a cut-off from the aforementioned price? Yes, we heard all the conversations. The least they could have done was to communicate about any changes so we make alternative plans, but no. They did not. Neither did we ever get an apology for the ill-treatment received. We set out for the cold and sad perils of the night without any security. long story short, I do not know the people who say their experiences there have been great, but mine... nah nah nah. It kept me wondering, "How can one build such an establishment with so much aesthetics and lack the basis on people management nor quality staffing... in hospitality for that matter. An industry whose name is denoted by quality, empathy, dignity, integrity, and poise?' JUST PATHETIC!!!

Tahir Hotel is a great hotel especially for long stay. I have stayed in many hotels but I must say Tahir is one of the best so far in terms of hospitality, room service and decorum. I stayed there for more than two week and experience was just superb. Though the wifi connectivity was not so good. What I'm most excited about was the excellent selection of food they have and the dining experience. I guarantee you'll like it.

Tahir Hotel in Kano is not good hotel for Expat especially for long stay. They only have cilantro indian Restrurent as a plus point there that is why I go there But you cannot comprise of all hospitality services at the cost of indian food. I stayed there for more than two week and experiences the bad hospitality experience in Nigeria in this type of big hotel. Services is very bad as follows: 1. No basics things in hotel room 2. No shampoo & no moisturiser in hotel even if you want to pay more for that 3. No hair dryer in this hotel 4. Very Bad smells in washrooms 5. Internet speed is good but the password they have provided, works in one device for one time and if you keep your device on standby mode for some time than you have to enter again new login password, very pathetic service of password management also they don’t want to listen the customer internet issue also told that is network issue. 5. The most pathetic service is their Laundry. They damaged all my clothes by the stapler pins, minimum 3-4 stapler pins in each small cloths even each socks and underwear also. Also they have misplaced my last day laundry clothes and I have discussed their laundry manager & hotel manager Nasser but no update on my clothes. So I stopped follow up with them for my clothes because they don’t bother about expat Customer because they have so much local bookings. So I have decided not to visit this hotel again in future also request all expat please consider the above points before making your booking. Thanks

Was in Kano with a team on official business and we stayed in Tahir for 3 nights. Arrived with high expectations having heard it was one of the best in town. Our stay was nice generally. The hotel has a lot pf potential but it will need to step up to rank side by side with top hotels in other parts of the country. The positives 1. Big spacious rooms with functional air conditions 2. Free and fast wifi (the best i've used in recent times) 3. Located in a secure environment 4. Car hire service, pharmacy and a restaurant serving intercontinental dishes are located within the premises 5. Neat bathrooms with hot water available 6. Swimming pool and mini play ground for children 7. Staff are generally courteous 8. Hotel is busy and quite lively till late in the night (if you don't mind the noise) 9. Solid physical structure though undergoing expansion. The negatives 1. Front desk staff need some training on customer service. 2. My shower did not drain properly so water collected at my feet while taking a shower. 3. Rooms are big but décor is quite basic 4. Restaurant staff can be quite noisy 5. No flask for hot water in the restaurant. You need to request for hot water and a staff goes to get it for you. 6. Menu is limited. For more options you will need to go to Cilantro the Chinese restaurant on premises. 7. Pool was a bit filthy 8. No backup batteries for the lights so during changeovers or power cuts you are plunged into darkness till the generators come on or the changeover is completed. So while the hotel may be one of the best in Kano it still needs some work to rank at par with the top hotels on Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcout but the potential is definitely there. All in all my stay was a good one.
