White Water Inn Mcleodganj

I booked a Male Dormitory bed in White Water Inn. It's a nice and peaceful location, although a bit hard to reach if you don't have transport. Beware of the steep stairs down (and up again) you have to walk from the main road, so not suitable for elderly. The dormitory was good, yet simple (no private power point, lights or curtains). But I liked the fact that it was a spacious room with only 4 beds (2 bunks), and the dormitory faces the beautiful mountains from the balcony (which unfortunately has no chairs to sit on). So most of my experience is positive. And it's very affordable for backpackers.

The balcony had a very nice view. This was the positive. However, the room was dirty (I prefer not to find strange hairs in my bed on arrival). It was also freezing cold, with no heating available, and with the thinnest of blankets. I was there Monday to Friday, and at no point was the room cleaned, or even the bin emptied. The, though probably perfectly nice people, were ... apathetic.

This trek up the stairs felt exhausting and could be a dealbreaker for some travelers.The hotel itself was decent—clean rooms, friendly staff, and basic amenities were in place. The views from the rooms were pleasant, but the stair climb overshadowed the experience. I’d recommend this place only if you’re fit and don’t mind the physical effort to reach the reception. For others, it might be worth looking for a more accessible option in the area.

The hotel offers breathtaking views of the mountains that make every moment memorable. The room was cozy, clean, and beautifully furnished—perfect for a relaxing escape. Service was good, with friendly staff always ready to help. A peaceful retreat for nature lovers and anyone looking to unwind. Would definitely return for the views and hospitality alone.

Stay was decent at this place. The place offers great view of the hills, which makes up for all the other difficulty the place has to offer. Positive - Great view of the hills. Negative - Room service is poor with all basic amenities from bottled water, toiletry missing. Specially when you have to walk 1.5 km to fetch these basic items. - Food at the restaurant is sub par and should be avoided - Carrying your luggage to and fro is a big headache, as the hotel is stepply located and one has to walk through stairs.

Very peaceful calm location, views awesome from the balcony. Staff behaviour and service are also very good. overall good experience. i will definitely visit and stay again.
