The hotel was in a quiet area near the city. Room was ok but I had to change it as it smelt of smoke. Hotel changed it without fuss which was good.
Food at the restaurant was good and authentic.
Enjoyed my stay and will return.

Spent three nights with my family at the Sheraton, in two club lounge rooms. Communication before arriving was excellent. The staff was outstanding - warm, friendly, and helpful. Rooms were very good, and to Sheraton standard. The grounds were beautiful, as was the swimming pool. A little cold in December, but we still swam. Hotel was very flexible about helping us find the rooms that we liked the most having three teenagers sharing. Room service food was excellent, as was the breakfast. There were some other dining options about a ten minute walk outside of the hotel. Overall, prices are very high for a Sheraton compared to the U.S. - over double the price. Paid about 1K USD for two rooms each night - which is more the price range for JW Marriott in most cities. As an example, the JW Marriott in Dubai one month ago was less expensive than this Sheraton Kampala. Airport transfer for family of five was $150 USD - again pretty expensive, and similar to the price we paid in NYC. As a Gold Member, we still had to pay for a half day for both rooms for arriving earlier than checkin time (I was very surprised at this, though, we did arrive at 9:30am). I was not officially offered an 'upgrade' room, which seems to be the normal with Marriott properties for gold Status. The bathrooms are very small, and the tub/shower difficult to get into and out. Overall, one of the best in Kampala. Uganda is expensive for tourism, so do expect high prices, as to avoid price shock that I went through.

I have stayed here twice and each time has been great. The staff is excellent and kind and they are very eager to assist you with whatever you need. My reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the first time I stayed there my room was on the 8th floor. The room itself was clean but the bathroom killed it for me. It was too hard to get in and out of the bathtub/shower and the drain did not drain as well as it should. The bottom of the shower curtain looked very dirty and like it had not been changed or cleaned ever. The redeeming part was the breakfast which is AMAZING!!! Upon checking out I requested to be in a future room with a shower only. So, the next stay my request was honored and the room was amazing. Clean and great view of the city and gardens. And once again the breakfast was amazing! I know I will be back.

We had a good evening and room. The room was beautiful and also had a fruit basket. We were celebrating my husbands birthday. The service people were nice and also the breakfast was tasty with variety. The bathroom was clean and spacious. We had a good time.

Whilst the rooms are a little smaller than usual, there is still enough space to comfortably move around. The aircon and wifi were very good, and my room was very quiet. The bathroom was a decent size, with a nice sized shower, but no bath. Breakfast was great, very fresh fruit and a good spread. Staff were very friendly and the hotel was well located for my business needs.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property - the views from the room were incredible, and the staff was superb! Special thanks to Moureen, Sarafina, Dorothy, and Florence for the wonderful experience at the lounge, Brian from housekeeping for making sure I had everything I needed throughout the stay, Chef Emmanuel, Christine and Jennifer from security, and Annette, Fiona, Angellah and the laundry team for the trememdous service! But an even more special thanks to Barnabus for assisting me the entire stay with all my needs, including a few issues I ran into from the airport with my bags. What a really sharp and talented person Barnabus is - I am truly grateful! Thank you Sheraton Kampala team for a truly phenomenal stay!

We arrived at Sheraton Kampala on the 28th July 2024 after a very long flight at around 01.00am. We received a very warm welcome from the Sevurity at the entrance of the hotel the doorman, the luggage porter and all night staff at the Front Desk, who recognised me as one of the Marriott Bonvoy elite member and thanked me for my royally. I would like to thank Bruce at the Front for listening to our issues we had and took action to resolve it. We thank everyone at the Breakfast restaurant. From the minute you step in at the restaurant, they address me by my name. I would like to thank Peace who always made sure we get our usual teas without us asking as she new what we always want. Thank you the Egg chefs Emmanuel and Ismail for the Egg Benedict and waffles you made. Very delicious 😋 Thank you all the chef who work behind the scenes. The food was amazing and delicious and well presented. Thank you Michael and Millie You always made sure if anything was missing you brought it on our table direct. Thank you the staff who served us dinner. Very efficient (sorry forgot the names,) Thank you the Director of Finance who took time to speak to us during our stay at Breakfast The ladies at the spa, Aisha and the lady who gave us our massages Thank you so much. Something special is happening here. You can feel it right from the front gate. Someone is ramping up on the customer care. This is clearly the mission at Sheraton Kampala. I cannot recall how many staff members asked me how I was and whether I was having a good time. Everyone wants to please. With all the new hotels and more coming up, Sheraton has to up the game. Age shows. Big recommendation is highlight the gardens. Work with KCCA and make an urban forest of indigenous species.
