We stayed at anika 13th-27th of September, we have stayed here before back in 2015 so new what to expect but both of us where not prepared for how much this hotel has changed in a positive way. Staff. Another area this hotel nails it the staff are simply amazing and so friendly and helpful, they genuinely make you feel like one of the family this vibe runs of on other guests and helps create such a chilled out friendly vibe to the entire hotel. Special mention to Jessica,Alex and valentine who worked tirelessly throughout stay and made us feel so welcome. We sincerely hope you are still working here when we return next year. Food. I’ll start with the one thing this hotel excels at its food. We stayed half board. The breakfast is a lovely buffet affair with a selection of cooked and cold choices with fresh juice and coffee. Evening meals are a 3 course table service. You choose from 2 mains the day before. We had starters ranging from soup, Greek salad, stuffed peppers and Couscous never the same starter and mains ranging from gyros plate, belly pork, fish, pizza souvlaki all freshly cooked and delicious. We also ate a number of meals here during the day from the snack menu the the club sandwich and salads are amazing as is there pork gyros. Rooms. Your typical Greek rooms although extremely large we stayed in room 323 which was on the top floor with sea view, beds where massive and very comfortable, have tv,kettle, fridge and plenty of storage space. They are cleaned every 2 days with fresh bedding and towels provided. The bathrooms have been recently upgraded to a decent standard. Overall it was a pleasant space to relax a sleep which is all you need on a holiday. Pool area. The pool area is small but fantastic there’s plenty of sunbeds available for everyone, it gets sun throughout the day and has a lovely chilled out vibe to it and a great pool bar overlooking it. Location. Perfectly situated a 5 minute walk away from the main life of the resort but quiet enough to not be disturbed by it. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and will be booking to return next year, there are better looking hotels on the island but you will struggle to find one that makes you feel so relaxed and part of the family. We’d like to thank everyone that made our holiday what it was and look forward to seeing you all next year. Richard&michelle room 323

The reception and bar staff were absolutely amazing. They were so kind, welcoming and friendly. They chatted to my boyfriend and I every day and always made us feel so welcomed. They helped with day tours and renting quad bikes. The food was delicious and the reception area was spotless. However, the shower in the room was TINY you could barely move in it. Also be aware that they only show the 'suites' as opposed to the actual studio rooms which look nothing like the picture. They are very very basic and nothing like the fab interior that are in the pics. This is something you can look pass if you don't want to spend most of your time in your room! My issue was with the owner/manager. As a young Irish girl, I wear fake tan as I cannot tan. So I did stain the sheets the first night due to my fake tan. We agreed with the staff and owner that if it were to happen again I would pay for the sheets, this was not an issue to me. I decided that the maids not change the beds and leave the sheets on and should they be ruined I would pay for those sheets. When leaving the owner pulled me and my boyfriend aside to request €60 for the sheets. I disputed this with her as we agreed I did not have to pay for the sheets from the first night. The owner then brought me down to the laundry room to show me the sheets. I informed her I understood about the sheets but reminder her of our agreement. I saw the two sheets that I ruined with fake tan and had no problem paying for these - this was my fault! However, she then wanted me to pay €5 for each towel that was used! I was in disbelief, it was the end of my holiday and to be honest I didn't have money! (I had enough to pay for the taxi to the airport and to get something to eat). She then asked me if I had a credit card to pay for the €60 for sheets and €5 for each towel bearing in mind I was there for 12 days, so she wanted money for each towel, and I am only 23 I don't own a credit card! I explained that towels get dirty and this was out of my hands - my fake tan had nothing to do with this. She called me rude and berated me for 20 minutes insisting that I pay this money. But to me, she was a business owner with money and it was just greed! We went back to reception and I handed her the €20 for the sheets, which I felt like I did have to pay. The owner then spoke to her daughter about me in front of my boyfriend and I, I felt so uncomfortable! It was such a pity as the rest of our time there had been so pleasant and the rest of the staff were so so lovely.

An amazing resort with really helpful friendly people in all services in the hotel. Beautiful view from a very comfortable room with a sea view. There are three restaurants and three bars as well as a beach, huge pool with loads of sun beds so you always managed to get one. The pool bar served drinks and snacks to our subbed at the push of a button and Daniel served us with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Lunch was also available in the Almyra bar at the beach and again lovely food served by a lovely lady who was so friendly and kind. Breakfast and Dinner was served in the Emerald bar. The food choice was excellent and varied each night, the service was brilliant and cannot find fault. There is also a great mini market that is open till 23:00 every night that has souvenirs, clothes, toiletries and snacks and refreshments so you really don’t need to leave the resort unless you really want to. We booked a massage in Serenity Spa which was excellent. All in all this was one of the best holidays I have enjoyed. The hotel and grounds are absolutely breathtaking, one negative comment would be the rooms in 2000 block are a little dated but they are clean, comfortable and very well maintained. Had we known about the Elite rooms when booking we might have paid the extra as they come with several extras included. Thanks to all the hotel workers who made our stay so wonderful.

It's worth pointing out that I booked this hotel based on the fact that there were more positive Trip Advisor reviews than not, which was becoming increasingly hard to find! I did take the negative reviews on board, however, and I have to say that I would absolutely agree with the majority of these. Having said that, we had a fabulous holiday where we all fully recharged and I have no regrets in booking. A quick run through of what we believed the resort was lacking with some suggestions on how it could improve: - The queue to be seated for breakfast, lunch and dinner could sometimes be really long. Whilst the tables are nicely spaced out, perhaps more could be added outside with the addition of parasols as some tables were lacking sufficient shade. - Ensure that once seated, guests are offered a drink as quickly as feasibly possible. On most occasions we had to seek out a waiter ourselves (and it couldn't just be any old waiter!) to put in a drinks order, and on occasions the drinks arrived long after we'd finished our meal. - An additional coffee machine at breakfast would help ease the pressure of the waiting staff. Hundreds of guests queuing for only one machine wasn't the best start to the day. - Whilst we're on the topic of queues, the queue for the beach bar was RIDICULOUS. We got in the habit of ordering 2 drinks each every time we went to this bar to avoid the queue as much as possible, but also because the cocktails were so small. They tasted delicious but far too much ice and not enough of the good stuff. My suggestion would be to have a drinks machine where the guests could help themselves to various soft drinks. Even a self-service coffee machine might be useful here. In addition, having some of the more popular cocktails made up in the advance might help - for example, we have been to resorts where they had pina coladas and mud slides pre-made as a 'slushy' which could then be served as a non-alcoholic drink or add the rum or vodka for those who like theirs to be a little spicy. It worked very well. - Also, a menu at the bar would be great. Having to go into the App to locate the menu was rather tedious, especially as it's quite nice to be gadget free whilst on the beach. The inside bar was much quieter during the day and it was always nice to grab an aperitif on our way up to the room for us to drink whilst getting ready for dinner. - More queuing required for the Creperie. My son had had one every day (his holiday vice) but the queue was always 20-30 mins. - There is only one block of toilets for the pool/beach and beach bar area. There are only 2 ladies' toilets and so more queuing was required here. Another set of outside toilets would really alleviate this. - Don't book this hotel if it's the Chocolaterie and patisserie which has sold it to you. The 'Chocolaterie' is simply a selection of puddings from the buffet. Not once did we ever see anyone serving or eating here. When we asked about this we were told that

At First I have to congratulate the management to your service team in the Restaurant. Olga and Noula made our holiday. They were there in the morning, in the evening always with a smile and a personal touch that you feel at home. The food was always good and the evening at the Burger House was a great one. The room is big and everything is there that you need.

We came as a group of 7 & arrived at the hotel around 1pm, our rooms weren't ready which was to be expected as check in is 3pm, but we were told to come back at 2pm so we went into their restaurant for some lunch whilst we waited. The lunch was average at best, a lot of the food was cold and not great flavour wise, but we were optimistic that the evening food would be better. Come 2pm, we still couldn't get into our rooms & the lady at reception was quite rude, even though she'd told us to come back at that time, we had to wait around another hour, whilst other guests were coming in and being shown straight to their rooms. It wouldn't have been annoying to wait if they hadn't told us we could go in at 2. When we finally got to the rooms, they were far away from the main hotel & were pretty disappointing. Every room has issues, mainly with the bathroom. Ours was particularly bad, dead mosquitos on the walls, dirty bed sheets and towels, no hand soap, broken towel rail on the balcony, no bath mat, mould in the bathroom etc. The worst part was that we only had half a shower door and no shower hook on the wall which made showering particularly difficult. We reported these issues to reception that night. They were friendly and apologetic, and assured us the issues would be resolved first thing in the morning. The next evening when we returned to the rooms, nothing had been done, not even replacement of the hand soap (we weren't given any during the entire stay). So we went back to reception and told the same thing again. The next day we were told the same thing again, at this point it was getting pretty frustrating. We had 3 rooms in total, and the other 2 rooms had their shower doors replaced but they just took ours away, so we couldn't use the shower at all. We came back from dinner one evening at about 9:30pm to find maintenance fixing the shower, which seemed like a very odd time of day to fix the issue. It shouldn't take 3 days to fix an issue like this. Reception had told us that they had overbooked and put us in rooms that hadn't been checked or used for 6 months, which explains the issues but is also completely unacceptable. When we spoke to reception for a third time, they offered to pay for us to go on an excursion which we thought was a lovely gesture, however when we arrived to the transfer bus, it was overbooked at we had to get off, which left a sour taste in our mouths for obvious reasons. The organiser did offer to pick us up an hour later to take us, so we waited about an hour and a half for him to return as he was a bit later than he said previously. We still had a fab evening in Rhodes Old Town though and would definitely recommend visiting there. We'd booked another excursion through different company a few days later, much to the disgust of the hotels organiser, who made it very clear and made a lot of sarcastic comments to us about how he'd never be late and the other organisers had forgotten about us, which seemed pretty rich
