Grecotel Filoxenia
"This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Experience was fantastic, staff could not do anymore more for you, they were friendly efficient and helpful. Rooms were lovely and beds were comfy. Everything was clean. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and felt very relaxed."
Elite City Resort
"Nice hotel"
Horizon Blu Boutique Hotel
"Good location, but the room smells like sewage, everything else is ok"
Akti Taygetos - Conference Resort
"We are a family of 5 adults from the UK who stayed for 9 nights B&B at this hotel. We had a great time and would definitely return. The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. There was never an issue getting sunbeds. Breakfast was plentiful & varied. The eating out in Kalamata exceeded our expectations, as did the hospitality. The sea swimming by the hotel was great. Most mornings it was flat calm and crystal clear! Don't let the word 'Conference' put you off. We actually thought it was a positive thing because most of the groups went on escorted trips during the day leaving the hotel very quiet."
Elysian Luxury Hotel and Spa
"Expectations had been high, reading recensions and information on booking. However did not meet them. We were in a very early stage in communication with the hotel to ensure to have the two suites and one room in close approximately. We had been ensured this will work, again in a phone call close to arrival. First impression was really great, and the entrance and welcome procedure excellent. When we went to the suites/rooms we were surprised that our suites were separate by another one lying in between with quests who also arrived same day. So this was not a planning but an internal communication error from the staff. So I went to the reception to ask what has happened. I was really astonished from the answer, as the young lady told me that this is not possible and must have been an error upfront. So I asked for someone from the management, and the answer received was even worse. They said if we would have arrived earlier it would had been possible to keep them together. So not a planning challenge just stupidity, and they tried to give us the fault for. Sad and very unhappy. Three stars only because the staff itself was excellent and the hotel was all over all not too bad. We will however not come back"
Messinian Icon Hotel & Suites
"Messinian Icon Hotel was one of our favorites of our stay in Greece. The view is mesmerizing, with the glimmering sea and mountains in the background. Everyone we interacted with was welcoming and helpful. The room comes with a huge balcony. The KING sized bed is great - these seem to be a rarity in Europe! Dinner was fantastic. Get the fruit place or poke bowl, both fresh and delicious. The price was very reasonable. We were there in early May and the pool was warm enough for swimming. What a gorgeous place! Five stars all the way."
Evripidou 7 - Kalamata Mediterranean Suites
Grand Hotel Kalamata
Garden City Resort
"We stayed here in July for 2 nights and one in August. We would have stayed longer in August but they were full Great location a short walk to sea. Nice pool which wasn’t too crowded and plenty of comfy sunbeds. Breakfast was varied and everything fresh. The staff are just amazing friendly and helpful. We also had lunch (late as restaurant opens at 3pm) twice which was good value. Great club sandwiches. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room. We had a balcony on both occasions. It was also very good value and better to book directly."

Mantinia Bay Hotel
"Good hotel, spacious rooms but lacking in details. Good service and breakfast on request but with many things that are billed separately that are included in other hotels (for example cheese or ham). Somewhat far from the center of Kalamata but no problem if you go by car as there is parking available."
Messinian Bay
"The main problem was the staff and its lack of accountability. We were there from the 5th to the 7th of august 2025. And we faced an electrical problem in our room (403 : refuse it !). Once the electricity was turned on, a noise (sizzle) came from an electrical outlet near the bed, then it was smoke that came out of it. We told the man at the reception, who reluctantly finally came in our room to check and decided immediately that the problem was the air conditionning that was too cold. And left us, obviously happy not to have wasted too much of his precious time. But of course, the air conditionning had nothing to do with the electrical problem and the smoke occurred many times again after he left us. So, to avoid a fire in our room and most certainly in the rest of the hotel, we decided to turn off the electricity in our room during our two nights stay in the hotel. Two nights without sleeping because of the high temperature (without air conditionning), but let's leave it aside, the staff irresponsability could have led to a disaster for us, the other customers and the whole hotel. Unacceptable ! Pierre Calmeilles PS : I also leave aside the incompetence of the staff that don't give a damn about a major electrical problem but don't forget to knock at our room's door at 11.30 PM to check if... we had dinnered at the hotel restaurant (which we didn't and will never do)."
Hotel Ostria
"I would have given 5 stars it’s a great hotel , great location , friendly staff - apart from one of the receptionists (brassy blonde) who was rude and antagonistic . The small dark haired girl on reception was very kind and helpful ."
Panellinion Luxury Rooms
"The hotel is located right on the promenade, which is nice. Free park is available just 20m away. The staff was helpful. The room was clean and quiet. Very comfortable bed. I cannot fault it in any way. We only spent one night there, but would definitely return. "
Comfy Boutique Hotel
"We stayed here for 3 nights following some time in Athens just to rest and then pick up a car for our Peloponnese tour. Hotel is exceptional value for money. Our room although small had everything we needed, comfortable bed, air con, fridge, in room safe, TV and a furnished balcony with a good view towards the distant mountains. Bathroom was again compact however had a good shower, fluffy towels and expel air. The roof top pool area was a great. When we were there early June we were the only guests using it so it felt very private. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was fine, enough choices and fresh orange juice. Hotel is quite funky and modern. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Receptionist/breakfast server gets special praise due to her enthusiasm. English is spoken. There is parking next to the hotel Hotel is located on a busyish road however the double glazing means the room is quiet at night. Its about a 5 minute walk to the marina/beach area where there are many bars, cafes and restaurants. Its a 5 minute walk to a large super market and about 20/25 minutes walk into Kalamata old town which we found quite buzzy and great to spend an afternoon /evening wondering and eating/drinking. We enjoyed our stay here for its location, roof top pool and great staff and would without question stay here again."
The Mansion - Kalamata Mediterranean Villas
"Our 3rd time at Kalamata Mediterrean Villas cemented our opinion that the host's, Georgios Andrianos', talent for supplying truly comfortable, well-equipped, happy places to stay for a vacation. The internet performance and speed are exceptionally good, so you could work - but really, why work during a vacation to Greece?-! We stayed in 3 different units, and we were obviously happy in all of them. The staff takes proactive measures when something like the city water supply shuts down for a day. Yes, they made sure to bring drinking water for us when made a "run" on the grocery stores and supermarkets and bought up all the water. This year's unit had a new pool. It was immaculately clean and nice. (Please remember that pools in Europe are rarely heated.) A few words about location: The Kalamata Mediterranean Villas are nicely located about 3 blocks from the southern end of the main shopping and walking street. Their location is "walkable.""
