Booked 1 double room and 1 family room for 1 night stay on 11 Nov 2023 in Oct 2023 via *********** and received email on the same day saying the reservation is confirmed. On 11 Nov 2023, the hotel PIC called and said they do not have any rooms for me. I asked why, he said the existing guests who checked-in 2 days earlier asked for extension, there were also some walked-in guests and I have not paid. So what? I've booked the rooms a few weeks ago and opted to pay at the hotel upon check-in when I was given the option. I did not ask to cancel the reservation, how could you give my rooms away to other people on the day I'm supposed to check-in with my family?!!! He told me there is an alternative hotel in the other area. Then why can't he asked the walked-in guests to go there?! I booked the rooms first. Don't give me lousy excuses. Just tell me it's long weekend, all other hotels in the area are fully booked, so the walked-in guests are willing to pay double the price. And that's the real reason why you are cancelling me last minute!! And the alternative hotel look like a ghost house, like no one has been staying there for a very long time. The rating is 4.1/10, lots of bad reviews. And the price is cheaper than what I had paid. So it's also a tactics to get guests / revenue for that unwanted hotel. My first and last time booking with OYO. For those who are reading this, please avoid it at all cost.
