Hotels near Barra de Mamanguape Beach, Joao Pessoa

This hotel is located in a nice area, only two streets behind the beach and near to great restaurants, cafés, backeries and supermarkets. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff are polite and friendly. Rômulo received us at reception with a warm welcome and was always very helpful. The breakfast is good. We were served by a very attentive staff. Neto is a fantastic waiter lovely and helpful. He provided lactose free milk for me during all my stay, with great care. At restaurant you will meet Israel, a very polite attentive waiter. Don't miss the great pineapple cocktails prepared by the bartender Jonas. The menu in the restaurant is good, with many options of really tastey dishes. Unfortunately there weren't many options for fruit juices usually available in Brazil, only lemon and orange. It was the same in regard to cocktails too, the state is rich in many exotic fruits such as cajá, siriguela, goiaba, etc. Overall we can highly recommend this great hotel. Thanks to all the staff. We will back again.

The staff are very efficient, the breakfast is very varied and very complete, served in a very wide space. The academy stops to wish, because it has only two steels, a box and a bicycle, which was broken.

Os funcionários são muito fechados, não são receptivos. Apenas um que morou em Portugal , foi mais atencioso. A moça que faz tapioca no café da manhã, parece que já acorda com raiva, como tbm o rapaz que a substitui. Um fato extraordinário: no domingo, dia 12/01 , três crianças de rua, simplesmente, entraram e foram tomar banho de piscina. Um pedinte adulto, aparentando sinais de embriaguez , tbm entrou na área externa e pediu dinheiro aos hóspedes. Não tem ninguém controlando a entrada de pessoas no hotel. Qualquer um pode chegar e entrar. Fiquei no AP 232 e a limpeza do banheiro deixa muito a desejar. É encardido. O secador não funciona.

Nord is a chain of hotels in this part of Brazil and we’ve stayed at other locations, and they were alright. This hotel used to be the Skyler Mar Hotel. It has been a Nord hotel for 6 years, but they still have the name of the old hotel on all the rooms (“Skyler Mar Hotel” see photo). I guess they haven’t had the time to take the old signs down. Strike one. We were staying in the city for only one night for the Christmas holidays and the Nord Luxxor Cabo Branco Hotel was conveniently located near where we wanted to go. We checked in and went up to our room and the first thing my wife and I noticed was that the room stunk of mold. It appeared that they tried to clean the room, based on the smell of cleaning supplies, but it didn’t do the trick. I went down to the receptionist to let her know that since I was only staying one night, I didn’t want to change rooms, but that they should be aware of the terrible odor in our unit. She offered to change our room, but I didn’t trust that the next room didn’t have the same problem. Strike two. The room itself was a bit Spartan. The bathrooms did not have individual toiletries but rather, soap and shampoo dispensers on the wall, which I only expect to find in lower-end hotels (this hotel charges about the same as most of the hotels in the area, so the least they could do is give me a bar of soap or charge me less). Our room had a view of an airshaft, but I won’t complain since I didn’t choose to upgrade to a room with a view. There was a lack of lighting fixtures in the room, so you either had to sleep with a bright light on or remain in complete darkness. On the positive side, breakfast, which is included, was pretty good and the restaurant was attractive. Overall, for the the experience we had, I don’t think I’d be staying here again and I don’t think I can recommend you stay here either.

It's worth it, especially if you take your laptop to work at home office.

Excelente instalações e localização. Ótimo atendimento por para da equipe de funcionários do hotel. Próximo de algum pontos turístico como o mercado de artesanato de João Pessoa e o de Tambaú. De frente de uma linda orla bem iluminada e sinalizada com excelentes quiosque.

I regret to report that my recent stay at Nord Luxxor Tambau in Joao Pessoa was highly unsatisfactory, and I feel compelled to highlight the following issues: * Service Delays: Service was notably slow and inattentive from the start. * Corridor Odor: A strong and unpleasant vomit smell pervaded the third-floor corridor. * Inadequate Bathroom Supplies: The bathroom was stocked with low-quality, public restroom-style toilet paper. * Poor Bedding Condition: The bed sheets were not only musty but also old and nearly torn. * Room Cleanliness Concerns: Bedside lamps displayed disturbing black spots, questioning the overall cleanliness. * Ineffective Noise Insulation: The room offered little protection from external noise, including street sounds and noises from neighboring rooms. * Room Service Issues: Basic items like yogurt were forgotten in room service orders. * Language Barrier: The staff did not speak English, presenting significant communication barriers for non-Portuguese speakers. * Lack of Essential Amenities: Unavailability of international power sockets and standard toilet paper; guests were directed to a nearby pharmacy for basic needs. * Malfunctioning Blackout Curtain: The room's blackout curtain did not function properly, further detracting from the comfort of the stay. These cumulative issues not only fell far below my expectations for a purported 4 to 5-star hotel but also necessitated a change to another hotel, resulting in additional expenses and inconvenience. The lack of basic amenities and attention to guest comfort significantly impacted my overall experience at Nord Luxxor Tambau and my time in Joao Pessoa.

Cada dia é oferecida uma narrativa fantástica. O direito de posse não pode suplantar o interesse público. Muito menos no caso desse hotel, por causa de sua condição de icone da arquitetura hoteleira brasileira, de sua construção em terreno de Marinha, só outorgada para ela servir de deflagradora do então incipiente turismo pessoense, reservando-lhe papel galvanizador e revolucionário nesse processo. È tão verdadeiro seu interesse público, no caso por criar e desenvolver o Turismo de Jampa, então uma desconhecida no turismo nordestino, que o Prefeito Cicero Lucena decretou sua desapropriação, acho que devida a procrastinação de quase 5 anos dos arrematantes Não sabemos porque esse Decreto não foi de pronto implantado, o importante é que agora o Prefeito Cicero Lucena, de forma dura e enfático, reiterou que o Decreto de Desapropriação ainda é válido, que não vai ficar esperando a boa vontade do investidor, que deseja que o Hotel Tambaú seja explorado por grupos nacionais ou estrangeiros, do ramo hoteleiro. Queremos redes hoteleiras nacionais e internacionais operando esse hotel. A Prefeitura quer que as coisas funcionem. This is our last day at the hotel. Firstly, I would like to point out that the photos published are not in line with the reality of the hotel. At the time of our arrival, the official was not even a little friendly. The hotel has dirty, poorly cared, with disguise. We were received in a dirty sandy room, incarnated gardens, bad dressers, disconfortable bed sofa. The worst point of the room was the shower. The water simply doesn't warm. We called the reception and we were informed that we should connect the shower and wait for the hot water to be hot, that was just how it worked, but we could not take a hot bath, just well-morn. The bed clothes are not exchanged, the cottage only extends the bed, we are sure, because the shirt had a sleeve and we realized it was the same every day. The French bread is not new, the positive point of the hotel is the location, and our final point is that we will not return to this hotel because we have no favourable experience.
