What makes a place is the people. And at THE MAYA, Jalandhar, I met some incredibly pleasant and welcoming staff members. Be it the security guard at the entrance who greets you with a sweet salutation of “SatSriAkal”; the front office executive who receives you with a warm smile and an upbeat demeanour; the housekeeping staff who turn up promptly on time to tidy up your room; or the staff at the restaurant who courteously wait on you till you are fully satiated, just about everybody would prioritize you, as they are genuinely customer oriented. They are certainly a step above ***y other hotels I have stayed in (as my job requires me to travel a lot) because they take care of your concerns even without you asking. For instance, when I suffered a sprain in my ankle, an executive at the restaurant who noticed that I was limping, inquired after me and arranged for an ice pack as well as a gel-based pain-relieving ointment. He even gave me instructions about how to use it for best results. Pleased at such great service, when I offered to write an appreciation for him, he politely refused and said that he only wanted me to get well soon. The feeling of gratitude I felt that moment is inexplicable. I notice things, by nature. And here I have noticed that they graciously perform their “duty” despite the fact that ***y a time we just walk away with that sense of entitlement without a care. But I notice that the smile on the cheerful faces here never fades. Talking about the room, no doubt there is comfort and facility. But for me, what makes it special is the view from the large window – the vast blue sky and the temple across, amidst the terraces of the several homes in the locality. It fills you with a blissful and a blessed feeling throughout the day, with a changing tinge, of course. And the food is delicious too. The restaurant serves a scrumptious buffet for all three meals of the day while room service caters to my special requests at anytime. They serve a vast variety of dishes – starters, chats, Indian, Asian, pastas, pastries etc. Having had the meals here for a few days, I haven’t fallen ill even once. The mind stays calm and the heart is joyful when the tummy is full! I recommend THE MAYA hotel and their restaurant. When in Jalandhar, this is the place to stay and have your meals at. Even otherwise, you could choose this for that special occasion to make it a memorable experience for yourself and your loved ones.
Very Good
