It was a pathetic and inhumane experience. I stayed at The Westin Jaipur, Kalwar Road, from 29–30 December. My parents, both senior citizens, were accommodated in Room 2018. The room was freezing cold, and the AC/duct was not working. Despite multiple complaints, the staff kept assuring us that it would start working. An engineer visited but no solution was provided, and the issue remained unresolved throughout the night.
I was informed only in the morning, after which I had to personally call and raise my voice just to get a heater arranged for them.
At checkout, when I raised this issue, the staff member claimed to have applied a 20% discount. However, my parents had only ordered two cups of tea worth about $5, and the so-called discount amounted to roughly $1, as if we were expected to feel obliged for it. I declined it outright.
Additionally, I paid ₹9,500 at checkout and was due a refund of ₹250. The staff asked me to accept it via Google Pay. I informed them that I did not have my phone and requested them to transfer it via Google Pay or PhonePe to me instead, but no action was taken. Eventually, due to an impending flight, I had to leave without collecting my change.
Moreover, the hotel manager, Mr. Angad, was standing nearby during this entire exchange. Despite being aware of the situation, he neither showed any sense of urgency nor made any effort to intervene or even offer a basic apology. His behaviour was extremely rude and dismissive.
