This was our first visit to Istanbul so chose the Ramparts hotel as it was close to the historic part of the city. The neighborhood seems a bit rough but the people are nice and it is safe. The hotel itself is amazing, it was very clean and ordered, the breakfast is simple but the food is fresh and tasty and prepared with care. The staff is very polite and helpful, especially the owner Adem who is very professional and provided us with all the information we needed. Unfortunately, we had to go to pharmacy and since it was Bayram most of them were closed so he helped us find an open one and called to make sure it's open. Overall, we had amazing 6 days in Istanbul and big part of it was our hotel where we could rest and feel safe and comfortable. We're sure to visit again and will be staying at the great Ramparts hotel.

This was our first stay in Istanbul and Turkey and I was a little nervous about what to expect. I chose Ramparts as reviews were fantastic and they said Adem the proprietor was extremely helpful. From the minute I emailed Adem, he was incredibly kind and helpful and made our stay in Istanbul a great experience. He organised transfers to and from the airport and gave us advice throughout our stay. On the first night we had no Turkish Lira as we hadn't been to the ATM, he loaned us some money for our dinner, which is above and beyond. The hotel was well located for an easy walk to the main sights. Just around the corner are great restaurants and bars which have more about them than the usual tourist traps. The sezgin pub was our favourite, great homemade food. Rooms are large and good and breakfast is superb.

Adem who runs the hotel, is a really nice guy. He demonstrated Incredible hospitality and kindness, before we arrived, during our stay and upon departure. The Turkish style breakfast is generous and versatile, the rooms comfortable, spacious and spotless. Loved the location. It's perfect on so many levels. Its within walking distance of most tourist attractions, while being authentic, and untouristic. The people in the stores and on the streets around were warm and friendly and helpful and the stores and restaurants are not the tourist traps you can find in other places.

Super little hotel, family run. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. It may not be a big brand hotel but if you want a comfortable stay which is also 10-15 mins from metro or tram stations, or if weather is cool about 20 min walk from Sultanahmet main sites, then this is the place for you. Good working AC for summer months, great shower and bathroom, and comfy beds. Breakfast has a range of cold cuts, bread and spreads, fruit and boiled eggs. Enough for a good start to the day. If you then plan to spend the rest of the day exploring Istanbul to return and rest then this place is perfect. Rooms are cleaned every couple of days as to be expected in a small hotel. This place is popular, busy throughout the few days we stayed there. Adem ( the owner) is a great guy, he arranged airport transfers both ways for us too.
