Highly recommend Ramparts! Adem, our host was amazing. He arranged transfers from and back to the airport in the early morning hours, stayed up to greet us on late check in, advised us on public tranport and more. The hotel is within walking distance to the main tourist attractions like the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. Our twin room had ample space, a kettle with tea, coffee & creamer, a bar fridge with complimentary bottles of water (yay!), chocolates and biscuits. Everything was clean and neat and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a large selection of cheese, fresh veg, fruit, breads, local dishes, delicious olives and plenty of tea and coffee. The neighbourhood is in old city so expect old city vibes. The area was busy but it was nice to see and hear the kids playing outside in the street. We had great food from the local vendors just near by and I believe there are some good seafood restaurant in the area too. Be prepared to climb stairs/no lift facility.

An altogether fantastic place to stay. Possibly the cleanest hotel we’ve ever stayed in, great room, excellent location and very good breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very clean, modern and comfortable (& I am really fussy!). It is situated in an edgy, slightly non touristy area, but we always felt safe and easy during the day time as well as at night. It is only a short walk to the main attractions and bazaar's. Adem is so helpful and friendly. We had a fridge in the room & the showers are amazing. We highly recommend and would definitely return.

Nice hotel, Friendly staff
Really only negative comment I have is that despite it saying online that they have free parking, we were charged 20 euros on check out for the parking.
Otherwise, hotel was nice, clean, appeared very new. Staff were friendly, pleasant, approachable, and helpful. Breakfast was good. Area felt safe (we walked back to the hotel past midnight and had no issues or concerns). Getting to the hotel was a bit of stressful driving… but that is not specific to the hotel, but rather most of Istanbul from what we experienced.

This was our first visit to Istanbul so chose the Ramparts hotel as it was close to the historic part of the city. The neighborhood seems a bit rough but the people are nice and it is safe. The hotel itself is amazing, it was very clean and ordered, the breakfast is simple but the food is fresh and tasty and prepared with care. The staff is very polite and helpful, especially the owner Adem who is very professional and provided us with all the information we needed. Unfortunately, we had to go to pharmacy and since it was Bayram most of them were closed so he helped us find an open one and called to make sure it's open. Overall, we had amazing 6 days in Istanbul and big part of it was our hotel where we could rest and feel safe and comfortable. We're sure to visit again and will be staying at the great Ramparts hotel.

This was our first stay in Istanbul and Turkey and I was a little nervous about what to expect. I chose Ramparts as reviews were fantastic and they said Adem the proprietor was extremely helpful. From the minute I emailed Adem, he was incredibly kind and helpful and made our stay in Istanbul a great experience. He organised transfers to and from the airport and gave us advice throughout our stay. On the first night we had no Turkish Lira as we hadn't been to the ATM, he loaned us some money for our dinner, which is above and beyond. The hotel was well located for an easy walk to the main sights. Just around the corner are great restaurants and bars which have more about them than the usual tourist traps. The sezgin pub was our favourite, great homemade food. Rooms are large and good and breakfast is superb.

Adem who runs the hotel, is a really nice guy. He demonstrated Incredible hospitality and kindness, before we arrived, during our stay and upon departure. The Turkish style breakfast is generous and versatile, the rooms comfortable, spacious and spotless. Loved the location. It's perfect on so many levels. Its within walking distance of most tourist attractions, while being authentic, and untouristic. The people in the stores and on the streets around were warm and friendly and helpful and the stores and restaurants are not the tourist traps you can find in other places.
