The Marmara Taksim

Whenever I'm on vacation in Turkey, I always make sure to stop over in Istanbul for 2 or 3 days to enjoy the many places I love in Istiklal, and the Marmara Hotel is ideally located in Taksim Square. The welcome is always very pleasant. The room is very comfortable. And I must once again thank Hassan for his kindness and graciousness. Here are some photos of the rooftop. I will definitely be back.

This hotel is in a prime location in Taksim, within walking distance to Istiklal Avenue and the square, making it super convenient for getting around and finding food, all within 100 meters. The breakfast selection is rich, and the rooms are clean and tidy, though the room size is a bit small. The front desk service is attentive, but a bit slow. With its accompanying pool and fitness area, it's a great choice for exploring the new city. The rooftop terrace offers outstanding views of the Bosphorus. However, the top floor is divided into two parts: one is the hotel bar, which requires an order to enter, and from there you can see a panoramic view of the strait through the glass. The other part is not part of the hotel; it's a private terrace, which you cannot enter, even for a fee. This was a bit different from the promotional pictures, as I had expected to be able to take photos on the rooftop. Some rooms also offer views, though they are relatively smaller. Considering the mid-to-high price and the inability to access the rooftop terrace, the value for money isn't very high.

The hotel is good, and the location is perfect for those who want to walk around Istanbul.

The location is excellent, right next to the metro and a pedestrian street. Very convenient. The view was great; we had a fantastic view of the bridge, and they upgraded our room for free. The pool is good. We were checked in upon arrival at the hotel, around 1 PM. Breakfasts were very good. Housekeeping was daily, but for some reason, they didn't change the bathrobes or forgot to leave them. Requests for items to be brought to the room took about 30-40 minutes.

A great hotel for a vacation in the heart of Istanbul. As someone traveling with children, my main criteria for choosing a hotel were comfort, a good spa, and a convenient location. This hotel exceeded all expectations. At the front desk, we immediately felt a warm welcome towards the kids. The staff smiled and interacted with them without any formality, which set a great tone for our entire vacation. Special thanks to the hotel for the early check-in (2 hours ahead of schedule) and for the lovely welcome amenities in the room – fresh fruits and chocolates. It was a wonderful gesture after our journey. The room completely met our expectations. We had a huge, comfortable bed and a beautiful view of Taksim Square and the city. The only minor detail was the absence of bathrobes in the room. However, given the overall level of service, we're sure they would be provided upon request (truthfully, we simply forgot to ask). Breakfasts here are excellent. The buffet is very diverse, offering everything from fresh pastries, cereals, and fruits to a wide selection of dishes for adults, including traditional Turkish specialties. For me, the fresh avocado was a testament to its quality. The spa center with its rooftop outdoor pool and sea view was a true lifesaver after long walks through hot Istanbul. The warm pool is ideal for a relaxing swim with children, and there's a sauna and an authentic Turkish hammam. The view of the city from the spa area also deserves special praise. And the icing on the cake – the location. The hotel is right at the entrance to a metro station. For a metropolis the size of Istanbul, this is a huge advantage. We could reach the Galata Tower, the Spice Bazaar, or catch a ferry across the Bosphorus in a matter of minutes, always having the option to quickly return to our room if the children got tired. Huge thanks to the staff for their care. We definitely recommend this hotel to all travelers with children.

We had a club room with a Bosphorus view. The view from the room, as well as the services included with the club room, were impeccable. The breakfast was wonderful with a great view, and there were snacks throughout the day. From 5 PM to 8 PM, they even offered good alcoholic beverages. However, the room itself... it was tiny! There was hardly any space for two people to move around. The bed was advertised as king-size... for whom? Maybe it's king-size for two five-year-olds, but for two adults, it was very cramped! Good thing we only stayed for two nights.

First and foremost, I want to thank the wonderful front desk staff! Guney Gurel – what a tactful and understanding individual! Special thanks to him for understanding my situation and arranging everything exactly as I wanted regarding the extra guest. Truly an exceptional level of understanding! I will always be grateful for his responsiveness and empathy. Also, a big thank you to Aleyna Ordu – I told her it was raining outside and my transfer would be late, asking if I could stay in the room a bit longer, and she allowed me to stay until 2 PM. That was incredibly kind! The staff members Kerem and Kuzey were also very pleasant. Now, regarding the hotel itself: Firstly, I chose this hotel specifically because of the reviews, and I wasn't wrong. The reviews truly reflect reality. The pool is magnificent for Istanbul standards – huge and clean. And the rooms are a separate topic altogether! Everything was always so clean, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and even with the window open, it wasn't noisy. The rooms were so luxurious that I didn't want to leave the hotel at all! The only thing I didn't like was the paid parking (750 Lira per night) – I'm sorry, but that shouldn't be the case. While the view from breakfast was stunning, having the same food every day wasn't ideal. But overall, I repeat, THE HOTEL IS WONDERFUL!

Excellent hotel, highly recommend! Convenient location and delicious breakfast. The room and pool area offer beautiful views. The staff was very responsive – they answered all our questions and allowed us to check in early. Thank you!
