Islamabad Regalia Hotel

I was going to wait until I completed my stay to write a review but compelled to make a start due to the excellent service that has been given thus far. The hotel itself is in a quiet street in islamabad with gated entry and exit. It has an essence of luxury and cleanliness that is consistent throughout the establishment. After my first night, a staff member enquired about how my stay was, to which I highlighted a very small issue with some noise in my room. This was brought to the attention of the manager ”Hamza” who looked to resolve my issue by offering me another room that was, in fact, larger and on a better side of the hotel. The hotel followed up on my satisfaction with my new room later in the day and looked to further improve on my stay by providing complimentary dinners and snacks to my room. Whilst I am sure I would have been somewhat content with my stay if the issue was left unresolved. This for me has placed this hotel as a must stay in islamabad for those looking for a peaceful setting and great customer service.

If this hotel is in Geneva, I would write some reviews like “big room, a bit noisy, very shabby, very cheap,” but, this hotel is in Islamabad, I need to describe it in more detail. Once a luxury hotel, it has been worn down by the years, and there are more staff than European hotels, so you don't have to wait for staff to process your request. Also, don't be scared by the castle-like entrance, the hotel and restaurant are very lively, the breakfast options are varied, although for travelers from Europe, breakfast is mostly ”exotic” food, and many shops and ATMs are within walking distance, but some are a bit hidden.

Unacceptable quality of hotel and level of customer service. Disgustingly arrogant attitude of hotel staff, from Check-In to Check-Out. No concept of customer service in this hotel. At Check-In was told with a haughty and arrogant pride that they are not an international standard hotel, but a Pakistani standard - which I found hilarious. The accommodation overall is shabby, worn and old, requiring a massive programme of maintenance and upgrading. there is absolutly no pride in the cleanliness, neatness and just basic quality of fittings, fixtures or amenities. This hotel's staff think its enough to bow at you and salute you to achieve customer service! How laughable. First room given to us was DISGUSTING. Not cleaned correctly, hair all over the bathroom, and a blocked shower drain. Asked that they change our room and re-clean it in front of our eyes - the second room was arguably worse - cracked glass in the bathroom door with sharp edges, electric lamps that were not wired correctly and you could see the sparks when switching it on or off. Room heating worked then didn't work - the engineer was called multiple times but could not fix the problem. There were 2 complimentary water bottles but neither a single tea bag nor a kettle in sight. Bathroom was just OK with rotten and broken mirror frame, sharp edges and a very very worn condition. A generally dirty and grimy floor, meant we kept our shoes on all the time. Thankfuly the bed mattress seemed to allow a decent nights sleep! Breakfast was very basic and typical poor Pakistani fare, entirely unappetising - and included the obligatory Pakistani habit of cleaning staff mopping the floor around your feet as you are serving yourself. Check-out was an expected shambles with taxi booking, bell-calls and invoice requests unanswered, luckily I expected such hopeless service levels and made alternative arrangements for transfer to the airport. What an entirely forgettable and poor experience, will never make the mistake of returning here.
Homeland of Chinese businessman

Very good, a villa in a wealthy area, the surrounding environment is very good; the room is large, with a sofa and a desk, very suitable for business trips; the focus is to provide Chinese food for three meals a day, I am not used to the real food in Batie outside, and there are problems with eating Landing; the boss is a Chinese couple, they are so warm and thoughtful. Five-star recommendation!
