Zoetry Villa Rolandi Isla Mujeres Cancun
4.6/541 Reviews
So this review is pretty pointless, unless you are going in MAY 2023. The hotel is set to close down for a 6 month refurb at the end of the month. Yes its old and tired, but we did not experience any of the problems with linen towels etc that other reviews mentioned, there were always towels by the pool. Food excellent Boat transfer/ airport pickup seamless, with only a five minute wait, we were the only people on the boat. So if you are going in the next few weeks all should be great for you. One thing I do hope changes after the refurb is the Job of Leo. Please fins him a more serious role Leo is one of the most nicest, friendliest and energetic people I have met, his official title I think is ”wellness director”, but it seems at the moment he runs a kids club for adults. Leo comes round in the morning with his wellness drink, which we took out of politeness, but it was always unpleasant. Then you could seem him putting cucumber and cold towels on the faces of guests, who quite frankly look as if these cucumber pieces are the closest any salad has been to their mouth in many years. Next up it was volley ball in pool ( not required. Don't do it at the refurbed hotel) where 4 guests would shout and whoop constantly disturbing everyone else. not sure if they where whooping every time they managed hit a small ball over the net, or if was a celebration of the fact they managed to lift their arms above mouth height for the first time in years. Cant wait to see the refurbed hotel
Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres - All Inclusive
4.4/5103 Reviews
(TL:DR) Oh my goodness! I believe Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres has potentially spoiled us for any other all-inclusive resort for some time! What an incredible experience! It is truly an all-inclusive experience, except for their off-site excursion company (GoMajestic), and their jet ski rental opportunity (Book those at the kiosk off the main walkway towards the family pool/sky lounge area!) We didn’t have much use for the butler service (1-2 times during our stay); however, Arturo was a sweetheart and very helpful! As far as tipping goes, we were recommended by others who traveled to similar resorts (Seeing as this was our first time!), to tip $1 for each drink at the bars, and $1-3 each at meals. We also did $5/day for housekeeping, because they did have to change our linens a few times during our 5-day stay. She was such a sweetheart and so efficient, so we were glad to do so. Not sure if they have teams or not, but we realized we had the same housekeeper every time, which was really neat! I’m not particularly sure if the way we approached tipping was appropriate/enough, but they were incredibly appreciative and respectful if it wasn’t (!) Highly recommend the swim-up suite with the outdoor jacuzzi! We were in room 3010 and it was absolutely wonderful - The jacuzzi was great for when the pools weren’t super warm, but you still wanted to be in water! The bubbles were very loud, but that was the only draw back! The layout of the resort itself was almost perfectly designed! The adult side is distinctly separated from the family side; the restaurants and shops weren’t far away or in the way; plenty of space to walk around and enjoy your privacy, yet still many community spaces for meeting people and making friends if you choose to! The beach was incredibly well kept. The beach was cleaned at least twice a day, with security guards walking around every so often to make sure the resort’s privacy and lack of vendors is maintained. We felt perfectly safe to walk the beach and stand in the water every night. The security guards would smile and wave to let us know we were okay, and they were also respectful of our privacy as we stargazed and chatted, soaking it all in :) The food was delicious! They accommodated everyone’s dietary needs very well, and we had so many foods to try! The buffet is great for lunch and dinner, but be sure to put reservations in for the dinner restaurant options when needed, because you don’t want to miss out! The restaurants are all included, except the steakhouse, which we plan on trying out on our next visit! Otherwise, Mar House is fantastic! We were fortunate enough to enjoy the lobster dinner there - It was some of the best lobster I’ve had in a while, and I grew up in New England! Every time we ate, the meats/seafood were incredibly tender and flavorful! I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, we absolutely plan on visiting again, and bringing friends! The resort caters to a wide range of individuals, and we can’t wait to introduce it to our friends and family! The only thing I’d say we wished was that there was one late night community space for the young adults to hangout at after Legends sports bar/club closed, because sometimes they closed an hour early, and then there was nothing to really *do* between 1 or 2am till breakfast, and not everyone wanted to invite brand new friends to their rooms 😅 We did make some great friends while we were there though, and actually have plans to visit them in their home cities this year! I hope more international visitors will be there next time though, as it seemed to be primarily Americans at the resort when we were there (!) 10/10 experience overall, and we will absolutely be visiting again soon!
TRS Coral Hotel - Adults Only - All Inclusive
4.2/5110 Reviews
We spent our honeymoon in TRS hotel with my wife. Check in was very quick and smooth unlike some other reviews i read takes a few hours, maybe it was on a weekday. Francisco at the check in counter was very helpful , he helped us upgraded our room to swim up suit and it was amazing! Sostenes and Cesar assigned as our butler for our stay and they were very helpful as well and always smiling. One thing I’d like to mentioned is that they said they have 25 minutes complementary spa for us for our honeymoon, and the reception told us to meet at the lobby next morning at 8:30am to take us to breakfast and to tour us around the resort. But the next morning we realized we have to attend to the sales center where they wants to sell us some traveling package which we didn’t expect, altho they are all very nice but we spent two hours there listening to them on the first morning of our stay and it was our honeymoon. wish they would let us know earlier then I would rejected, and they said we had to attend in order to claim the complimentary spa which at the beginning they said it’s for our honeymoon. Anyways, For food I highly recommended Gaucho steak house, we tried the bone in steak and they grill them with charcoal and it was very delicious , but the second time we went the steak was over cooked a bit. During our stayed we joined two activities, one is water aerobic and paddling. Both instructor was very fun and especially Dente. He was super friendly and patient! Overall we are satisfied with our stay, and would recommend to our friends.
Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort Adults Only
4.1/5104 Reviews
The hotel is very comfortable, you can spend money to drive a jet ski, the spa is very expensive, 300 dollars, the bed on the beach you have to pay 300 dollars to become a member to use, but the white chair is not used. Good food, especially there is a 24-hour service to the room. I eat French steaks and groupers in the evening. It's good, free cocktails and juices, and a rich buffet at noon. One thing that makes me feel uncomfortable is that people here are looking forward to tipping you. I know that the waiter gets more money by tipping, but I don’t want to pay for it all the time, though not simply. This hotel has this feeling, but the entire Cancun is like this.
Casa de Los Suenos Hotel
4.4/593 Reviews
Casa de los Suenos is THE place to stay when you would rather feel like an old friend than a guest. From the moment that you book to your arrival on site, they are there every step of the way to help you get to your final destination. And in my case that was destination relaxation. This is probably the most important part of my review, so I'll include it first. As a young-ish solo female traveler, I felt 100% comfortable staying here. There is always someone in the main lobby keeping an eye on things and they lock the main front door from 11:00pm to 7:00am. The staff will call you by your first name from day 1, making you feel seen and acknowledged and most of all, cared for. Thank you to Chris, Roger, and Carlos. As its located in the Southern part of Isla, you'll need to consider transportation options if you really want to explore. They have bikes on site that you can use and if you arrange it ahead of time, they will have a golf cart waiting for you upon arrival that they make sure is always full of gas and just added to your tab at check out. By far the easiest and most reliable way to get a cart on the island. It takes approx 25-30 minutes to drive via golf cart from Case to the North Beach. I also love how they have the partnership with the restaurant below, Kin Ha. Excellent breakfast that comes with your stay. The view is breathtaking and Gil who curated the playlist is a genius with the tunes that play as you dine. There are also pools, a water swing, kayaks etc, and snorkeling right there included. The rooms are spacious, clean, and come with a fridge. My room, the exec king suite was more than I could have hoped for, especially when you consider the sweeping views of the ocean. The pool is divine and cleaned daily. One of my favorite parts, the house pups Marvin and Nina, (and even the cat Maggie) were perhaps my most favorite feature. They are the sweetest and must fun Casa mascots. If you're lucky they will even walk you down to breakfast! One note of improvement, which they are working on, is the company that they contract with for the transfer service. It was a little bit discombobulated on the way there, but everything worked out in the end. Chris personally took down my feedback and shared it with the company so that hopefully things go more smoothly for future guests (note that this is not a reflection of Casa, just a vendor they work with). If your thinking hmmm I usually stay in name brand hotels (trust me, I am a Marriott loyalist to an extreme level), do not do that here on Isla. Stay here. The experience is part of being on the Island. You will love your time on the island that much more if you stay at Casa de los Suenos. It really is a dream.
Izla Beach Front Hotel
4.3/5104 Reviews
This was our 6th trip to Isla but our first to Izla Hotel and I would be honored to return. We booked a Superior Ocean View room with a tub on the balcony. We never used the tub. Room was perfect air conditioning worked very well. They supplied shampoo, conditioner, lotion, coffee and started with 2 bottled waters which increased with our stay as with pod style coffee grinds. The bed was super comfortable as were the linens. It was cleaned perfectly every day. Check in was smooth thanks to Daniel who reviewed all the documents in detail and answered all questions. Breakfast buffet was included with our room and was phenomenal every single day. From a table full of baked goods to fresh fruit, salads, deli meats and cheeses, cottage cheese oat milk oatmeal, yogurt, seeds, dried fruits, honey and other sauces, whole fruit for grab and go, hot dishes including pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, an additional meat dish and chilaquiles, also an egg station for however you like them. Orange juice and green juice and coffee were endless! Thank- you Josefina and Eduardo you and the crew treated us so well. Chef Lorena was present and greeted the tables from sun up to sun down. Pool chairs and beach chairs were plenty just ask for an umbrella as needed. We ate lunch beach side when at the resort the food is great! We did rent a cabana one day it costs $50 a day and your food and drink goes towards that total so it was included as we had drinks and cocktails throughout the day. Thank- you Claudia and Jimmy for looking after us on the beach and around the pool. Our dinners at Izla Café and Numa was so easy and good and the desserts were very tasty! On occasion we ate off site and sometimes we would go into Izla Café in the evenings for dessert only! Very relaxing quite hotel. We fully enjoyed our stay and will return. Thank- you to the wonderful staff Melissa and Brent.
