BCC Lochness Glamping

There was no reception, no one to greet. Room was double booked and no apology. Trip.com had to sort us out, ended up in a different room but was filthy.

I booked a stay here in December ‘23 and paid the deposit (approx £100). I sadly had to cancel the trip the next day and thought I was well within the refund deadline, but heard nothing back. Mid January ‘24, about four weeks later the full balance was taken from my account (a further £213). Despite having received my cancellation email, thus money was still taken and multiple attempts at communication with the company have fallen on deaf ears. I am currently seeking legal advice on what can only be described as theft, but would definitely urge anyone planning on staying here to exercise extreme caution.

The hut reaked of mildew and musk. My chest felt very tight from all the mold I assume was behind the walls and under the floors. We ended up leaving after 1 night as I felt very ill. The showers were horrific. Black mold all over the ceiling, walls, shower curtian, and shower caulking. This place is a health hazard. Im suprised it has not been shut down. It seems as if the owners don't care or have abandoned it.

Absolutely horrendous stay. Doors don't lock, broken areas, mould everywhere, rubbish everywhere. Do NOT book this place. I wish I'd seen all the negative reviews before we wasted money. The business also refuses to acknowledge any issues or respond to communication. DONT BOOK.

There was nothing magical for us muggles at this place!!! Death eaters must of been here! Booked Hagrids house for our harry Potter mad daughter thinking it would make her day, in fact it was just a disgusting mess. Have no idea why you would have this many bad reviews and not have done something about it!! Mouldy damp stained curtains, rubbish under sofas, blinds were best left open if you didn't want to have a sudden boke attack! Dirty blankets, no lock on the door ...the list goes on! Anyway a 3 hour drive home and a waste of time and money. DO NOT BOOK!

Unless you've a car or get a bus (which i suspect are few and far between) you'd struggle to get there unless you were walking. The pod itself was okay but could do with a lick of pain and tidying up a bit, as could the toilet block. There was no signage and further out than we thought. We'd a lovely view of the river and the kids liked it, however as a parent staying with 2 kids it was unnerving that there was no staff presence or security measures, It was fine for something different for the kids and a one night stay, maybe more suited for backpackers or someone needing somewhere small for a stop over for a night

Check went smoothly thanks to good communications. A nice peaceful spot, great value, and had a great nights sleep listening to the stream trickling by.

Pod 1 I stayed in was terrible, unliveable, disgusting, the property was not well maintained, the lock on the door was definitely not safe as it has previously been knocked off and a bolt in place of it. The noises of the rats in the pods was terrifying I ended up not being able to stay there for the duration of my time. The owner of the place did not give a toss and was so rude on the phone when we phoned to complain! Thankfully the lady that worked there was nice and was able to move me into the hostel over the road which was 100x times. The pod 1 had a smoke alarm that was hidden underneath bedding that had been left from previous customers and it had been all peed on by rats. This is no way to run a business. The whole place was just unkept and would recommend anyone to NOT stay there. It’s not worth the money find something nicer, safer, and cleaner.
