The Glen Mhor Apartments

We had a wonderful stay! The view of the river was stunning. The meals were excellent. The service by all the staff was kind and welcoming. We loved the breakfast staff each day. We were easily able to walk to many locations. Our room was clean and comfortable. We highly recommend and would love to stay here again.

I absolutely loved this place. Our room was right above the check in which was super convenient. Huge room w/ amazing view. The staff were super friendly. The whiskey distillery was beautiful & the bartenders were very knowledgeable & funny. At breakfast find Elenor, the manager & a highland cow (her words), she has great travel trips & is an incredible person. Find her!!!

Pros: The hotel is at a great location. Food is Ok. Room size OK Cons: Staff is very rude, no hospitality, very bad experience. Bathroom door latch broken. No intercom in the room. No complimentary toiletries If you need extra tea bags or coffee sachets you will feel that you are asking for gold biscuits from them. Check in time 4 pm which is very late. At the time of check in they didnt inform that they take late check out charges after 11 am. No grace time for check out..which is very strange. Just minting money as much possible from the customers. There are other cheaper hotels in the same location, which one can opt. Overall will not recommend!

We stayed here so my husband could take part in the ÉTAPE Loch Ness race for this the hotel was in a good position as the start and finish is opposite the hotel. One thing to bear in mind is the hotel is split across several buildings which clearly used to be residential properties. The main issue here is the noise as there has been nothing added to reduce the noise in the building. We had the ground floor window room right near the entrance door, this continually slammed when people entered and left, you can hear the people upstairs over the room, and with many people using this hotel for the race people were leaving from 5am in the morning, even on our last night we had people arriving at 3am so was disturbed sleep for the whole stay which isn’t great. The room itself had nice original features BUT was very run down, lots of scrapes on the wall, dirty carpet and just lacked attention to detail. It felt very basic in furniture style as we were paying nearly £300 a night so for this I expected more. Bathroom was basic as well. A note on the beds as well they are two singles bolstered together with a thin double mattress cover. I actually requested ahead of time a proper double bed based on previous reviews but was told all their beds are like this. Yes the view was lovely and was close to the city centre so easy walk to restaurants etc but I don’t feel it was good value for money. It was ideal for the race but we should have stayed elsewhere for the second night. I have to say the lady who was behind the bar both nights was amazing. Gave us great advice on whisky and was great to talk too. If the stay cost £300 in total we would be happy with the stay but we visited Culloden house hotel and their basic rooms are the same price but more luxurious style so something to bear in mind.

Great place to stay for a business trip. The staff were incredible patient and flexible around our changing the plans over the week. The actual hotel is really clean, comfortable and well located in Inverness for travelling around the surround area. The hotel provided an excellent space for evening work and talks.

Excellent location on the riverside. Staff very helpful and pleasant, food so good we ate there every night. Very clean.

Our stay at Glen Mhor was really wonderful. The hotel is simply lovely. Then the distillery & brewery, and accompanying bar, made our stay fully a joy. The rooms were big overlooking the river, and had a big bay window with chairs that allowed my wife and I to have tea, sitting in comfy chairs, overlooking the river Ness. The location to town is perfect - an easy walk, yet out of the noise and bustle. Breakfast was simply buffet, easy and plentiful. In particular, the breakfast staff was WONDERFUL - they were working hard but always attentive. Always a smile on their faces - a great experience.

Stayed for 1 nights in the Alexander building. Lovely room, great value, easy on-site parking, fantastic location right beside the River Ness, great breakfast in the Waterside restaurant and most importantly of all friendly welcoming staff at front reception. All in all 5 stars and highly recommended.

I'll start by saying I've stayed in the Glen Mhor before (in the main building) and had a lovely stay hence booking again. This time however we were in one of the old converted buildings right up in the attic space. The room was basic but I guess it didn't matter too much as we only slept there. It was a bit tired particularly the bathroom, but what really bothered me was that there was a large damp area on the bedroom wall behind a chair. Really disappointed as you can see a lot of lovely work has gone into the new distillery and taproom but the updating of rooms hasn't had the same attention.
