A five star hotel with a brand name Marriott has little room for any imperfection particularly when you are visiting repeatedly with previous positive experience. Thats why after first two days of my recent stay I had decided to award only two star but the last day salvation by some of the staff members I upgrade my rating to three/four star. My disappointment was on two front- front office and bizarre doors positioning in suite (no 2602). Firstly the front office. At the time of check in I requested for an upgradation to suite category which was denied saying all are booked. When I confronted the front office with the fact that hotel web site is showing availability, I am told that it has been blocked. (What does it mean blocked ??) After little argument and persuasion agreed to allot suite but the tariff quoted was much higher than what hotel web site reflecting. Again I confronted the staff with the official tariff than somehow someone came and settled the matter. I opted for a long weekend package which apart from others also included one meal. But after meal at their restaurant Indore Kitchen I was presented a bill. When I enquired at reception, I am told that only breakfast is included in your long weekend package. (the gentle*** was not aware of inclusions in the packages being offered by the hotel). I had to go back to my room retrieved my reservation on my laptop, brought the laptop to the reception and shown. He reluctantly admitted and agreed to rectify it. But at the check out again bill for another meal which was supposed to be part of the package included in the final bill. Thanks to Mr Hitesh who immediately corrected the bill and provide all discount as per the package with due apology. The suite room, although big enough with all facilities one would expect, has no locking/bolting provisions in the door separating living and bed room as well as bathroom door. Bizarre it may sound but the almirah in the living room has doors on both sides, another being opened in the bathroom. This may severely compromised privacy. Apart from these two negatives, all other like service, housekeeping food etc are decent. On our day of departure, staff at Indore Kitchen gave us a small treat. Thanks to Jyoti,Abhijit,Rohit(jana) and others. Overall the experience hasn’t been as expected. Hope this would be one off incident.
