Wow what can I say!!!! Amazing. We came for 10 days over new years with my husband and three children aged 8,11,13. From start to finish we had a great holiday. Accommodation - We had a cabin double bedroom downstairs (very small) and a mezzanine upstairs with three beds for the children. Cabin had a lounge area with tv and kitchen nook and table and chairs. Bathroom with inbuilt sauna. Only downside of the cabin was there wasn’t a huge amount of storage. Nowhere to store clothes in the bedroom at all. We lived out of suitcases. Resort itself not huge. Had a luxury feel. We didn’t want a commercialised holiday and this was perfect. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly. Dining room has a panoramic view over the frozen lake which was beautiful. Food - buffet every night. we mostly ate from the buffet every night as there was so much choice and the quality was really good. Expect some reindeer dishes but also standard pasta etc. A couple of times we used the a La crate menu just to try a few dishes. There is also a children’s menu at no extra cost doing pasta, burgers etc which you can order from. Breakfast was so much choice my children especially loved the waffles! Activities - we had pre booked activities but found it easy to swap and change them weather dependent and if we were doing too much on one day. Take advantage of the hotel clothing provided. They provide all outer gear including boots. Every size available and good quality. The clothing area is open twice a day. Huskies were awesome. Got to ride a fair distance taking it in turns to mush. We even got to see the new puppies. Snowmobile trecking. Unfortunately children have to be over 16 to sit on the snowmobiles. My children were pulled in a sledge by the guide while my husband and I drove our own snowmobiles. Be warned they were cold. Wrap them up extra warm for this activity. Snowshoeing this was a lovely activity with a great guide who was super knowledgeable. Aurora camp. Lovely chance to get into the wilderness at dark. Reindeer farm. Got to feed and pet the reindeer and learn lots about the Sami culture . Always free sledges around the resort and plenty of places for children to sledge all day New year was great. The staff made a special effort. We dressed up went into the dining room. Special food. A singer. And at midnight we went into the frozen lake. Where we all were given champagne and watched amazing fireworks over the ice. Super special. The resort itself is within walking distance about half an hours walk from town. Not a huge amount in the town. A super market, church bar (with great hot chocolate) and a souvenir shop. All in all this was a fantastic holiday somewhere special to go for new year and we also got to see the aurora!

Right next to the bus stop, there is no need to find a place after arriving, the lady boss will go out to greet him personally, and the store is very enthusiastic! You can see the aurora basically when you leave the room (if you are lucky), there is also a bonfire waiting for the aurora. The bonfire is on the river bank, there is no light pollution. There are also projects such as skiing, snowmobiling, husky sledding, but it’s a little more expensive than the Sarika’s. The breakfast is 10 euros for one person, a typical European breakfast, the portion is sufficient and the taste is not bad. The apartment where the four of us live is also a small wooden house. The sanitary conditions are very good, and the room is quiet and suitable for posing. All in all, I highly recommend staying here for two or three days. The chalet here is not worse than the glass house in Sarika!

Tradition Hotel Kultahovi has two buildings: Traditional Hotel in the main building (basic rooms) and a separate River Hotel (superior rooms). We stayed four nights in River Hotel and this review is based on it. The hotel isn't any luxury hotel but it is perfect if you need peaceful sleep, beautiful views, nature experiences, hiking, delicious food and a central location but still surrounded by a forest. We had a beautiful room with rapids view, blackout curtains, an own electric sauna, a refrigerator, a drying cabinet for clothes and a self adjustable air conditioning system (no very efficient cooling). It was very relaxing to keep a ventilation window open (there is an insect net) and both listen and watch the rapids. We saw reindeer and (almost) the midnight sun from our window, too. Our sleep quality was excellent. Beds were very comfortable and we didn't hear any noise. The location of the hotel is perfect: next to Alakoski Rapids, 100 meters from a big playground, 300 meters from Sami Cultural Centre Sajos, 400 meters from Neste Inari Juutuantörmä (a gas station with a restaurant: pizzas, hamburgers etc.), 700 meters from Gastro Pub PaPaNa, 800 meters from a grocery store (K-market Inari), less than 1 kilometer from Sami Museum Siida and Lake Inari Cruises, 2 kilometers from the big Jäniskoski Rapids. The Juutua Trail and a hiking trail to Fell Otsamo (8-9 kilometers in one direction, first along Juutua Trail and then a separate route from the Jäniskoski Suspension Bridge) start from the hotel yard. The breakfast buffet is good. They cook and serve only a small amount of food at a time. So many bowls may be empty but they bring more food if you wait. However, that may take a while. But they bring new food even three minutes before breakfast service closes. On Saturday 23rd July 2022 there were very many dishes left undone on tables. Other morning were better. Service was kind and quick. Besides, there is extremely beautiful rapids view from the breakfast room, too. Their dinner restaurant is absolutely excellent, but you need a table reservation. Hotel Kultahovi is easily accessible with a public bus. We came with a bus (Eskelisen Lapinlinjat) from Rovaniemi to the hotel. The nearest bus stop (Sajos bus stop) is situated 450 meters from the hotel and the main bus stop of Inari (”the bus station”) 800 meters from the hotel. I also heard that it is possible to ask the driver of Eskelisen Lapinlinjat to drive a detour to the parking place of the hotel. We informed the reception of the hotel one day before our check-out and they called to the bus company so that the bus to Rovaniemi picked us up directly from the stairs of the hotel. What a superb service!
