The owner is so kind, it felt like a warm home away from home. The guesthouse has floor heating, which this northerner really appreciated. Double Latte: Enjoying coffee by the river – so very Nanxun. This hotel truly exceeded my expectations! The location is superb, fulfilling my long-time wish to stay in an ancient town in Jiangnan. Since it was off-season and cold, I asked around and found this place had floor heating, so I didn't have to worry about the cold and had a warm night's sleep. They have parking, and you can drive directly to the hotel entrance. At night, I opened the window and could directly hear the Pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing) from across the river – it was truly delightful. Downstairs there's a restaurant, and you can enjoy tea around a fire pit by the river, which was fantastic.

How do I even begin to describe this place? The guesthouse's location is excellent, right by the river. However, the room facilities are basic (Image 1). The sink is right next to the bed (Image 2), so if you want to wash up in the morning, you have to wait for the other person to wake up, which is really inconvenient. Plus, the bed is right next to the bathroom toilet entrance (Image 3). The cleanliness was subpar; there was mold on the ceiling (Image 4) and a layer of dust on the floor. Even after asking the owner to re-clean, we found dust everywhere, including on the table. The courtyard isn't impressive at all; just some pebbles at the entrance and a small stool (Image 5). Here's a crucial point: the twin rooms don't have river views; they're all located inside the courtyard or on the north side. And the rooms are not soundproof! The only upside is the location. You just walk through a small courtyard, and you're by the river, where you can sit, drink tea, relax, and enjoy the beautiful night view. Oh, one more thing to note: if you drive and park at the guesthouse, the ancient town charges a parking fee. We parked for 22.5 hours and were charged 35 yuan.

Unexpectedly, I stumbled upon Xunsanli B&B, a hidden gem that added a distinct and unforgettable color to my trip. From the moment I stepped into Xunsanli, a warm ambiance enveloped me. The guesthouse's exterior cleverly blends traditional Jiangnan architectural styles with modern minimalist design elements. White walls, black tiles, and upturned eaves showcase the grace and elegance of a water town, while clean, flowing lines and transparent glass doors and windows hint at a contemporary, stylish feel. Upon entering, a fresh, subtle woody scent wafted through the air, instantly putting me at ease. The front lobby was arranged to be both cozy and comfortable, with well-placed greenery adding life and vibrancy. Local-themed ink paintings on the walls further imbued the entire space with a rich cultural atmosphere. Stepping into my room, I couldn't help but marvel at its comprehensive and advanced facilities. The room's layout was very practical, with every inch of space thoughtfully utilized. A soft, large bed occupied the center of the room; the mattress had just the right amount of bounce, feeling as if I was gently enveloped by clouds, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bedding was made of high-quality pure cotton, soft to the touch, and emitted a faint lavender fragrance, helping to soothe both mind and body. The air conditioning in the room adjusted the temperature precisely and quickly, maintaining the most comfortable temperature even on hot summer days or cold winters. The bathroom facilities were equally impressive. The smart toilet boasted multiple functions, and the showerhead provided an even and powerful stream of water with a stable hot water supply, allowing for a thoroughly comfortable bathing experience. Xunsanli B&B's dedication to cleanliness was also impeccable. The room was spotless; not a speck of dust could be found on the floor, desk, or windowsill. The sheets, duvet covers, and pillowcases were not only clean and tidy but also carried a faint scent of detergent, which felt incredibly reassuring. The bathroom fixtures were sparkling white, free of any stains or odors. The guesthouse also focused on maintaining cleanliness in common areas, regularly cleaning and sanitizing the lobby, corridors, and stairwells daily, providing a safe and healthy living environment for guests. Beyond the excellent hardware facilities, the warm and attentive service from the guesthouse staff left an even deeper impression on me. During check-in, the staff greeted every guest with a smile and enthusiasm, patiently introducing me to the guesthouse's facilities and nearby tourist attractions. They even crafted a detailed itinerary for me based on my interests and available time. Throughout my stay, the staff consistently anticipated my needs, whether it was helping with luggage or assisting me with any issues I encountered; they handled everything with meticulous care. Every evening upon returning to my room, I would find it neatly tidied, and a breakfast voucher for the next day thoughtfully prepared. For breakfast, the main dishes included nutritious congee, steaming hot noodles, and perfectly fried eggs. Each dish was carefully prepared and presented, appealing to both the eyes and the palate. Sitting in the restaurant, enjoying a delicious breakfast while gazing out the window at the beautiful ancient town scenery, was an utterly delightful experience. Xunsanli B&B felt like my second home in Nanxun Ancient Town. The complete and advanced facilities ensured a comfortable stay, the clean environment gave me peace of mind, and the thoughtful service from the staff made me feel the warmth of home.
