We love this place. We had a beautiful spacious wooden cabin with a balcony overlooking the Pearl River. Phi, the manager looked after us splendidly and could not have done more. We locked ourselves out, he came up in his buggy, we forgot something, he came up in his buggy; he had a cooked sliced steak take-away breakfast with dragon fruit ready at 6.45am and a taxi. Thank you Phi and team! We come back one April to see the tombs and pagodas we missed.

The resort is very spacious and has a beautiful landscape. Will be back if there is a chance. A bit old but very worth staying because the view is very beautiful.

Cancelled on me, said they are closed to july.. I do see some very bad reviews since the very solid reviews years ago.. It's a shame.. I would strongly suggest doing research thoroughly before booking your stay. If they come back to their former glory, the place looked amazing

Fabulous place to stay with cottages among luscious natural surroundings. Breakfast was fit for a king. Lots of variety. The staff were attentive and helpful. Loved the e-carts that took you around the resort. Massage at the spa was good too. I left 2 days ago and miss it already.

This was the first accommodation in over 20 years of travel I checked out of after just an hour. Sankofa is nothing like as advertised. It has no free shuttle service to town, the pool is decrepit and has no water in it, there is no bar available and the staff have no idea what is going on (oh, they do have wine but there is only one "choice" and it is only available by the bottle and costs $100 Australian dollars). Our first clue that this is a legitimate house of horrors should have been upon arrival, when there was no one at reception, none of the lights were on and our taxi driver had to search the lobby for anyone to check us in. The room that we were put in was ok enough, but the rest of the resort is deserted, run down and not fit for hosting guests. Apparently "low season" but it's just an excuse. We moved hotel to the centre of Hue which was busy and atmospheric. The worst place I have ever stayed and to make matters worse - neither Sankofa nor Agoda have responded to my numerous emails for a refund. We are nearly $700 out of pocket for this terrible experience.

This hotel must have been beautiful but since corona it probably suffered and has hardly occupation. It’s surroundings are pretty but far away from Hue and very expensive taxi. The restaurant only had two menus and no real dishes, my youngest son got food poisoned. Also expensive. It should be a backpackers hotel at low rates. It is probably a 2 or 3 star hotel, they however promote it as a 5 star. We checked out after 1 hour. It was a very strange and unpleasant experience. We feel sorry for the staff they were so friendly.

Great surroundings and impressive nature. Beautiful lake. It offers meeting rooms and private duplex villas with private pool overlooking the lake. The community pool is at the top. The open restaurant gives fresh breeze for comfort. Free wifi throughout the whole resort. The staff is very friendly and helpful

I'd like to start by saying that the staff at the resort are wonderful people and it hurts me to write such a negative review as I don't want to impact them. That being said I think it would be irresponsible of me not to let other people know that what they are seeing being advertised on this resorts website along with *******, Agoda, Booking etc...is not accurate. This was once a beautiful place but that is a time gone past, as you will notice the pictures and amazing reviews are mainly from 2020 and older. Upon arriving it feels like it's an abandoned place, with very few guests, limited amenities are available, the main pool is not sanitary and I would say not safe to swim in. Everything is overgrown, the beautiful water fountains that I'm sure once welcomed guests are absent and overall it seems as if time has stood still. The rooms were one of the few highlights as the interior were fairly nice and clean. I think what is particularly unacceptable is that they are advertising as if they are a 5 star resort and spa, charging guests some of the higher end pricing for hotels in Hue when they are clearly not anymore. Today this should be a backpackers hangout priced at $25 a night and this would be a great deal, you get what you pay for and that would be fair (I am a backpacker as well). We decided to not even stay a night, checked out and paid for the one night that we didn't use so we could go into Hue and booked a beautiful high end hotel for $30 a night less.

I wish them all the best and hope that ownership is able to invest what is needed to bring this once beautiful place back up to what it deserves to be but until then BUYER BEWARE.
