We were quite surprised when we arrived at the high automatic swinging gates and drive way leading to this lovely house and gardens. The rooms were quite spacious clean and very comfortable. Our window faced the lane that was very quiet and we looked out on fields which was lovely .Not a building in sight. Breakfast was served in the conservatory looking out on the gardens, and the smoked trout (best ever) and home grown tomatoes were very tasty. David was able to tell us interesting facts about the area and the fens. A lovely place to stay.

Without shame, the host called asking if we took the TV remort, what horrible thing to ask your customer and that is after enduring slow service of the host who lives in the same building, which makes its difficult to live as you cant even play any music and be yourself in a real vacation. Don't go to this place, the service from people its hard to watch, you have to cringe yourself to see them struggling to service, in top of that being the meaniest people you will ever find

We stayed here for two nights for a friend's wedding in June and had a lovely time. Beautiful gardens to roam around and we loved watching the rabbits and had a look at the rare pheasants and amazing plants! All their dogs are super cute too! (The hosts are cautious that some of their guests may not like dogs so they ensure to keep them out of the way) The breakfast was delicious and we ordered a takeaway on the Friday evening (fairly late) and the lovely hosts went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They allowed us to sit in the conservatory which was nice. We will definitely come back again to escape the city life to enjoy the wonderful fresh air and to explore the area abit more. 10/10 😊

I booked in 2 guests who my company contracts to write software The host kindly provided a conference room for myself, my 2 guests and a locally based software contactor which we used free of charge for 4 days whilst we worked. The host provided at minimal cost, morning elevenses, light lunch and afternoon snacks with hot drinks all of which were very prompt and well presented. Our host and his wife prepared home baked cakes and scones all of which made us very welcome. To my disappointment, my guests left a damaging and unnecessary review - and it is to this end that I would like to redress the imbalance of that review with this one. I feel that I am justified in this because it was my company paying the bill and as such my review is as important as that left by my guests the content of which I wholly disassociate myself and my company from. Our host was in all respects courteous and considerate, providing a good service at all times when I was present and I assume this was so when I was not. The Guest House is well kept with a spacious conservatory looking over well kept gardens with a large duck pond to one side with a fountain - quite a tranquil place to enjoy a first class full-english breakfast to set one on the way for the day ahead. If you are looking for a night spot or disco, don't bother booking - if you are looking for a homely and tranquil place from which to discover the surrounding Fenland beauty during the day or walks in the countryside, then don't hesitate to book.

We have really appreciated our short break here and are only sorry we have to leave so soon and haven’t had time to meet the owners’ beautiful dogs or explore their 15 acres of small holding. Our welcome was business like but okay. We had the beautiful triple aspect room with delightful views over the ornamental duck pond, garden and surrounding farmland. Our bed was extremely comfortable, the room immaculate and the bathroom very spacious as well as being immaculate. Breakfast in the conservatory was delightful as well as delicious. The info file in the room very helpful- do try the Windmill at Somersham for a splendid dinner while at Pointers! We spent a day in Cambridge and a day in Ely while here.

A beautiful country house with fabulous views and gardens. Mr and Mrs Winser the proprietors are aware of your comfort and needs. Shown in the spotlessly clean rooms with every comfort provided. They are welcoming and considerate. Delicious varied breakfast menu overlooking lovely grounds. My visit will be remembered, and hope to return as soon as I can. Our phone number is 01792 899584. Absolutely tremendous stay. David & Eileen are the most wonderful hosts - sincere, lovely people, friendly and helpful, whilst remaining professional. David welcomed us on our arrival, and he was most keen to ensure that we had everything we needed. The property is comfortable, clean and welcoming. Comfortable beds, immaculate bed-linen and soft, fluffy pillows. The bathroom was spacious, spotless and the shower most efficient. Breakfasts were delicious, freshly cooked and always served with a smile. We were lucky enough to stay shortly after a litter of puppies had been born and it was wonderful to be able to share a little time 'getting to know them'. Just one problem - I couldn't take them home with me ! On what should have been the last day of our stay, I was unfortunately taken ill. David actually took me to the hospital in his car, as - given the way of things at the time - an eta of 4 hours was given for an ambulance! Bearing in mind that we were in a completely strange area and knew no one, he and Eileen took care of hubby for several days. IF THAT IS NOT GOING BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY, THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. We both will be eternally grateful to our new friends. If I were able to award many more than 'five stars', then I would do so in the blink of an eye.

Good information about what to expect if you read the Access statement - look at the very bottom of their website - I always check these as I have a disability, but this one gives lots of information about the guest house, a good read if you want some detail. We were a party of four, my parents-in-law had the twin room and we had the double room (there is also a family room). I always rate where we stay by three things, the quality of the sausages - these were really good, the shower which pumped out the water at a good pressure and temperature, and the third thing is the quality of the bed, which was comfortable. The breakfast was good, lots of choice - we completed a form the previous night so that they can prepare the breakfast at the time which we selected. The only slightly negative was our poached eggs were hard, but it is difficult to catch them with runny yokes, but firm whites! I have left the negative part of our stay to the end, which is why this is a four star review. When we arrived David insisted we had a different name to that which we were giving - I think the chances of getting someone’s name correct are stacked in favour of the people who were given the name at birth, rather than the person they have only just met. He explained the next day that he had looked at the wrong date, not a problem we all can make a mistake. David was brusk in his manner throughout our “induction”, which was more of an “indoctrination” but his manner was really quite rude as he lectured us because we were slightly later than we had indicate when we booked - I didn’t realise that it was a firm contractual obligation to arrive at precisely the time we indicated - I thought it was just an indication and I certainly didn’t expect to get told off like naughty children. He certainly didn’t set the right tone at the commencement of our stay. He had no idea why we were “late”, he didn’t even ask us - and I am not going to tell you, but we had our reasons, and we were only a few minutes late, not hours! Overall, a nice place to stay, but don’t be late, otherwise you will get told off.
