Heard a lot about this 5***** hotel, so I booked it for the covinient from the bus from hk airport. Not very impressed and certainly doesn't meet the standard of a 5***** it once was. The room is stuffy and a bit of damp smell, although it's a non- smoker room, I paid 66£ for a night, and I requested to place me in a quiet area, so they upgraded me from the 5th floor which was above the Karaoke, to the 15th floor. Nice view of the west lake. The room is big enough but decoration is old, needs future renovation as I wouldn't stay there next time and there are better hotels out there in the area. However, the staff are very attentive and super friendly, after checking out, a young male asked how was my stay, and i said it was OK, it smells musky in the room, he apologised and gave me a goody bag with sweets and a cute stuff toy.

My room was nicely decorated with art and a guitar, very comfortable and perfectly clean. The shower has great water pressure and consistent hot water. The staff were helpful and friendly. Some people may find the stairs up to the room a little difficult but it shouldn't be problematic for the vast majority.
