We are birdwatchers and booked a double room. The room overlooks a marsh filled with flamingos, ducks, geese etc. They put a spotting scope in my room - perfect! We didn’t know anything about the history and traditions of El Rocio but learned quickly. It’s like a mix of nature, bourses, the Wild West, church and brotherhoods. Incredible 2 nights. The hotel was perfect for us, beautiful.

It was a lovely stay. The dining options at this hotel were so much appreciated as everything else in El Rocio seemed to be always shut. A beautiful location close to all the birds on the lagoon.

We stayed two nights in august and enjoyed every minute. Hotel is in a beautiful restored traditional hacienda. Reminded us of estancias in Argentina. Very old world. Staff polite and helpful with good English. Room clean,beautiful decor, comfy bed. Great pool area on roof top with views of Doñana park and wild horses grazing. Only four deck chairs so fills up quickly. There’s a bell to ring for drinks service by the pool. We had sun downers there with great sunsets. Good breakfast but very overpriced at 16 eur per person. Bread, fruit, ham, cheese and cakes (no eggs or youghurt) plus very good coffee from espresso machine but still not worth 16 euro. Had dinner in their restaurant on first night. Pricy but worth it. We ate outside on their terrace with horses riding by on their evening excercises. We loved the hotel and the very special village of El Rocio. Thank you.

This rural hotel will remind you of a Mexican hacienda! We stayed in the new building which was absolutely amazing! Immaculately clean sheets and pillows and a beautiful bathroom in a great location by the Donana Park where you can see pink flamingos and other species. The breakfast needs improvement and is not what you might expect for a Hotel of this category.

Truly, perfection. First, the gentleman at the front desk, David, was incredibly kind and helpful. The most helpful part was being available to walk to our rooms in the next building (and assist with the baggage) when we arrived much later than expected, at almost 10:30pm (22:30). He also spoke excellent English (and said that he also speaks French and German). Second, the rooms and common areas (that we saw) are all beautiful. The entire place is the defining of charming. The “Junior Suite” is enormous, and perfect for any couple. Third, it happens to be only a block or two from where the flamingos congregate. Given that we did not have a lot of time, and did not plan, to take a formal tour, it was wonderful to see the flamingos. Fourth, the breakfast was excellent.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay in a junior suite at La Malvasia and could not have been more impressed or better treated! An amazing view from our room, (directly overlooking the lagoon) which even came equipped with its own telescope. The hotel itself is beautiful, and only outdone by the quality and friendliness of the staff. From the front desk to the restaurant/bar, the service was excellent. We absolutely would not hesitate to stay there again - thank you to all at La Malvasia for a superb stay!

Reading about the La Malvasia, I thought I would like it. I did not. I loved it. It was everything it promised. And much more. Everyone on staff was exceptionally helpful, most especially the kind angels who arranged to get our left-behind passports to us. No task was too big, no request too small. The standouts in the stay were the size and layout of our beautiful and spacious suite, number 12. We have never before had such a comfortable accomodation in any of our dozens of trips to Europe....or anywhere else in the world. And the graciousness of the hotel is enhanced by the natural beauty of its setting. The lake/marsh that serves as the "front yard" is a vast expanse full of birds, and wild horses. Hundreds of Flamingoes dance across the waters as dozens of Cattle Egrets swarm the skies. Too many magic moments to note them all in one review. The meals were well prepared and presented, the rooms kept to a high standard of cleanliness, the internet connection strong and fast. My one and only disappointment was that the lovely restaurant was lit too brightly at night for dinner. We would have much preferred candlelight as the soft jazz and moonlit marsh begged for a more romantic dining experience. We look forward to returning to Hotel La Malvasia and hope the next time it will be for considerably more time than the 3 nights we spent on this visit.

Great hotel - probably the best in the area. Lovely pool area above the rooms overlooking the lake and friendly and helpful staff. Hotel rooms are clean and have all of the facilities including a minibar and aircon. Really close to the main square where all of the restaurants are
