Holiday Inn Express Baihang (Huangshan Scenic Area Transfer Center)

First, the pros: This is the very first hotel you encounter right at the exit of the Huangshan scenic area, so it's incredibly close! It's very quiet, and the air conditioning is powerful yet silent. The bedding is quite comfortable too. There's a parking lot right at the entrance, which is convenient for those driving; electric cars park for free, while gas cars are 20 RMB per day, payable at the front desk. You can also borrow hiking poles from the front desk, no need to buy them. Now, for the cons: The seal on the shower door was broken, so water flooded everywhere after a shower. The water temperature fluctuated wildly, changing every second. Only down pillows were available, with no other pillow types offered.

My stay here far exceeded my expectations! The room was spotless, the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet area, and the mattress was just right – I slept wonderfully. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, the staff were friendly and responsive to requests. The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to transportation, and being close to a shopping district made dining and shopping a breeze. The facilities are well-maintained, and it offers excellent value for money. This is definitely my top choice for accommodation, I've saved it and will definitely stay here again next time.

Right across from the ticket office, perfect for those who want to be first in line. You can hear tourists queuing outside early, but the bed is super comfy. They also provide free maps and walking sticks (grab a walking stick as soon as you check in, or they'll all be gone by morning!). Also, make sure to buy breakfast the day before, as the hotel doesn't offer it. The closest breakfast spot doesn't open until 7:30 AM, and you have to walk quite a distance to the crossroads, which completely negates the hotel's prime location.

I chose this hotel in Huangshan for its convenient transportation. True to its word, it's located right inside the South Gate Tourist Service Center, literally steps away from the scenic shuttle bus entrance. Driving here was also a breeze; I parked inside the tourist center, and the hotel thoughtfully waived the parking fee when I checked out. The hotel is budget-friendly, and while the facilities are basic, they're perfectly adequate. It felt a little damp inside, though. I had planned to check in on the 24th and hike on the 25th, but I only received the weather forecast in the afternoon, which warned of thunderstorms and strong winds in the Huangshan scenic area, making hiking unsafe. I had also missed the cancellation deadline, but the hotel was incredibly helpful and still managed to assist me with the cancellation.

The location is fantastic, right in the transportation hub. It gave us a great advantage for queuing up the next morning. When we came down the mountain, we could easily take our luggage straight across to catch the bus to Hongcun, saving us a lot of time. The room was also very clean and spacious, and we got a really good rest.

To all my friends driving to Huangshan, I highly recommend this hotel! The location is absolutely unbeatable. In the morning, you can literally walk 50 steps directly to the Huangshan South Gate Transfer Center to catch the bus up the mountain. It's incredibly convenient, and you can just park your car right outside the hotel. The hotel rooms are decorated in a simple yet grand style, and the bedding is very comfortable. The front desk staff are extremely warm, polite, and provide excellent service.

Out of the five hotels I stayed at during my 15-day trip to Anhui, this was the only one that provided conditioner, and it also had the best living environment, despite being inexpensive. I chose it as a resting place after hiking down Huangshan, based on its proximity to the transfer center, and it completely exceeded my expectations. It's much better than the hotels on Huangshan that cost thousands more, offering incredible value for money. The hotel rooms are clean, smell fresh, and the ambiance is elegant and grand. It's only about 100 meters in a straight line from the Southern Gate Transfer Center; you can see it as soon as you exit. The location is incredibly convenient, making it a must-choose for a rest after climbing Huangshan.
