Staybridge Suites Houston Willowbrook

Oh! Dude! We all know how I'm a big fan of chilling and cooking in the room at the hotel, only going out to visit family and shop. We all know that Candlewood Suites - Willowbrook is halfway between my two daughters' homes. We all know the story of how Candlewood - Willowbrook has gone downhill in the last few years. On this last trip to Houston, I told my wife ”No More Candlewood - Willowbrook! Find another IHG anywhere near Candlewood”. She asked what I thought of Staybridge Suites, since we had never reserved there before. I told her ”Fine! As long as it's not Candlewood - Willowbrook!” (y'all gettin' my point, yet?) First of all, it's quiet, off the freeway, and set back facing N. Gessner. Unlike that crazy u-turn you gotta make on FM 1960 to turn into Candlewood - Willowbrook. The front lobby door is not automatic, so be prepared to wrestle the luggage trolley through the door. I can't say much about the check-in process, my job is unloading and parking. And speaking of parking ... the one small lot in front of the lobby doors all seemed to be disabled reserved, the main lot is waaay over there, past the duck pond! I really could have done without those dumb ducks. Our room looked clean, it felt clean, and I didn't have a nagging urge to Clorox wipe everything prior to sitting. Unlike ... (well, you know) We were perched on the third floor overlooking the back patio grill and another larger pond with turtles. The dishes and cookware were nice and clean, with a setting for three. And get this ... They supplied me with a steamer pot! Yes, I cooked. Now for the other side of the coin. Everything was fine, until I got into the shower. Very slow drainage. For me, it's creepy to stand in dirty water while you try to shower. Something I know the housekeeping staff knew about, but did nothing about. Therefore: 4 stars. The holiday season is coming up fast, and we will be making more reservations here. We stayed Saturday/Sunday Oct 15/16. I hope your stay will be as good as ours was.

Hilton Garden Inn Houston NW/Willowbrook

This Garden Inn was well staffed, operated, and clean. The staff was friendly, took care of my needs, and made for a worry free stay. It’s back off the main road a bit, so it was pretty quiet for being in a big city. The only suggestion I might make was the lack of lighting and signage as you turn off the main road.

breakfast are standard American style. Fitness room is large. and there's a swimming pool as well. we've received warm welcome each day from the reception desk. I made a reservation for my husband and his employees, they arrived and why one other person was going said they had to charge an extra charge, and OK With that, when we realized, they had charged twice for the stay, The room was cleaned and the room was cleaned and the room was cleaned and the room was cleaned and the room was cleaned and the room was cleaned every day to enable it to enter. As an Honours member, I tried to stay at this place. The information. on the App advised the property accepts cash as payment. My choice of payment w a CC as a hold. I travelled to the place & was told cash was not accepted. Wow. No compromise. No offer of goodwill. Sorry. No cash accepted. In other words go to hell I don’t care what the app says and your Loyalty to Hilton. Pathetic communication on app. Pathetically poor customer service at the hotel and pathetic disregard for me, the customer, trying to stay at their hotel. With this experience , I may be reevaluating my participation in Hilton Homors

Was looking for a quiet place so that when I was in I could rest from work travel. This fits the bill and has places close by to find food when I was hungry. Staff found something I left in my room right after check out and called so I had time to return and get. Thanks so much.
