YHA Hostel Properties in Hong Kong

My experience at the hostel was pleasant. I stayed at a double room for 3 nights. Location wise it’s a little bit far from the MTR stations. It’s pretty clean but everything’s a bit time-worn. The bathroom doesn’t really dry so there were some drain flies, which was not desirable but understandable. The bed was harder than I would like but I made do covering it with another blanket from the other bed that I was not using. One big issue was that the power outlets were at the desk instead of next to the beds like most hotels and it was really inconvenient. Another troublesome thing is that you must bring the bed, pillow and duvet covers when you check out. That was pretty difficult as I needed to bring two portions of that on my own. Didn’t know it came with breakfast vouchers at the restaurant and I got to try it once. It was not bad for a free breakfast. Not sure if I would pay to eat there.

This is my third time staying at this hostel, and the manager and staff are as lovely as ever. The weather was fantastic this time, and I got to see a spectacular sunset – truly stunning and incredibly satisfying. Every visit brings a new experience. I hope to come back for a holiday here every year! Highly recommended!

Tung Chung - 2 nights - private double room Expectation/Reality: this is the only provider of accommodation in the area so expectations need to be managed. They have the ability to essentially set terms, so the negative reviews here are likely from the folks who didn’t read the find print. The photos match the space very well. However the hostel reached out over what’s app a number of days before the booking asking for the $150 membership fee and $500 deposit, which I was not comfortable providing until arrival, however the hostel was okay with that. Security: very good, there is a gate lock and a lock to the door, very safe. Hygiene: overall very clean, no concerns. Hospitality: the check in and out process is all over what’s app, so you are at the mercy of how responsive they are which can be frustration when trying to get in. Once you are in, it’s fine. Social Atmosphere: good social spaces. Overall: given they essentially have a monopoly on accommodation in the area. It’s a pretty good spot. I accidentally broke the key and they came and fixed it the next day, but took off $50 from the deposit. So handle the keys gently. Over pretty good place.

YHA Bradbury Jockey Club Tai Mei Tuk Youth Hostel is highly recommended for nature lovers! From the hostel, it's just a 3-minute walk to the Plover Cove Reservoir Dam. Nearby, you can rent bikes to explore, enjoy hiking, or head to Lung Mei Beach for some sun and sand.

What a nice simple place to stay. Quiet, next to river area, great view. That night was cold and we got a heater to keep us warm. Big kitchen can cook your own food. The owner keep the place clean and tidy. Great place to stay before a big hike. They sell nice drink and noodles as well. We take half day off and arrive there around 7pm. Set off 8am for a 7 hours hike. Total took us 9 hours。

The room is hygienic, it is relatively small, the youth travel is like this, the boss is very good! The bathroom is separate, the bathroom is very hygienic! ! ! ! It's relatively clean!
