One-Eight-One Hotel & Serviced Residences Reviews

Good: 1. Clean, tentatively new; 2. Good staff, helped with eventing one we have arrived. Bad: 1. Ctrip failed to book tickets on the check-in date, so we could arrive only a day later. Hotel refused to refund that day, which is awful given how much we have paid; 2. I think I never seen so BAD breakfast; 3. There is a huge parking lot before the hotel, not waterfront. So hotel is lying about it's "waterfront line" quite a bit. Disappointed, this is not a client oriented hotel.

Location: easy to travel around the HK island with tram (3 mins walk) or MTR exit B1 (5 mins walk) Note lobby is at second floor, request for higher floor better. If you book urban room, get above 25 floor to avoid seeing opposite building which is very close. We decided to upgrade to harbour room due to that. Food: many options nearby, walkable to Kennedy for good local dim sum breakfast at Sun Hung restaurant Easy access to airport with A10 bus just 3 mins walk. The staff, Bruce Lui was very helpful in directing us and even offered to bring us and push our luggages to the bus stop. Room is exceptional big (in HK term), top up coffee capsule everyday.

Great location on Hong Kong Island. Lots of restaurants near the hotel with ease of transportation.

Nice location, the room has the best view facing the Victoria Harbour with full width full height glazing, you can sit on the bench or chair or bed next to the glazing and enjoy the sunset and night of the city, so beautiful. And the room is huge, clean, modern and cozy, best value to be honest.

Most rooms in the hotel are not available through this site in a way that allows for cancellation or modification. If the system were more flexible, staying here would be more attractive.

Honestly the best room to stay for a staycation or for travelling. Price is a bit high, but it worth the price ! Very much recommend to stay.

Very good hotel from check-in to room facilities to easy access to everywhere. I strongly recommend you to stay here if you want to visit HKU. Best of the best options.

We stayed in this hotel before, and our first visit was great. The receptionist was so wonderful and upgraded us, and the room was beautiful, clean and quiet! It's also 5min from the metro station. Amazing! Because of this we booked to stay again for our next trip without hesitation! However, on this occasion it was disappointing after such a wonderful first impression. We were upgraded to a higher floor, but the room was a good size, and the view was okay. The city view is not so much 'city', but out onto the neighbouring residential area. The bathroom door was broken, and would only close if locked from the inside; which would've been ok, but the bathroom has night lights you can't switch off, so the room was never dark enough to sleep. The blinds had holes and didn't close fully at the bottom. The dressing gown had holes all over it! The ventilation was noisy and despite having a switch, didn't turn off at all. The shower door even had orange mould at the bottom, and the toilet flush only worked if you held the button down. Considering the price of the room and the quality it presents itself, it felt so disappointing, and was such a let down after our first stay was so good.

Hotel staff was service was great. The room was spacious and we had the ocean view, so the scenery was great. Breakfast buffet was simple but sufficient. Would recommend to others.
