South Pacific Hotel

Got a free room upgrade to a corner room on a high floor, which was really nice! The room was not very large, but it had a good layout and was clean and the fixtures all seemed pretty new. There were usb and usbc wall ports, which was good because I didn’t bring an adapter for hong kong outlets, although the power from them was not very consistent. I saw a lot of reviews complaining about there not being hot water but I didn’t have issues with that. I paid more for non-smoking treatment and am glad there were no smells in my room, but I think you might still smell something if neighbors or people in the hallway smoke. The location is also decent. It is in a place that is in he middle of a neighborhood dense with people and shops, which I liked. Wan chai is somewhat far from other tourist destinations/train station and I spent a lot of time on public transit to/from this hotel. This hotel was not that cheap, especially for a holiday weekend, but I was pretty happy with my stay here.

The room size is big for Hong Kong. The rooms weren't recently renovated, there were stains on the bed linen, and the hot water just disappeared at some point while taking a shower and only appeared after 12 hours (we were on the 10th floor).
