Great
GGuest UserI highly recommend this hotel! Here's why: 1. **Convenient Location**: It's less than 1km from Hongdae subway station, easily walkable. There are also many bus stops about 300m away, making it easy to get to many places! 2. **Close to Hongdae's Main Hub**: Right outside, you're in the bustling heart of Hongdae. It's very lively but not noisy, as it's just around a corner. This also has the added benefit of feeling safer. As a solo female traveler, I usually worry about returning late to secluded areas, but here, it's perfectly fine! It's neither loud nor isolated! 3. **Excellent Service!** * **24/7 Snacks**: They offer a wide variety of bread, drinks, and fruits. Drinks include milk, orange juice, apple juice, and soda. There are 6 types of bread, plus cereal and jams. * **Laundry Facilities**: A washing machine and dryer are available and frequently used. * **Great Hairdryer**: The hairdryer is powerful, not one of those weak ones, and feels quite premium. * **Decent Shampoo**: The shampoo was surprisingly good! I expected my hair to feel dry, but it didn't! It was quite smooth afterward, though I did use my own conditioner. * **Separate Dorm Floors**: Female dorms are on the first floor, and male dorms on the second. The first floor has two toilets, two sinks, and three showers, so it never feels crowded and is very clean! 4. **Very Clean**: Both the rooms and common areas are spotless, with no unpleasant odors. This is a big plus! 5. **Luggage Storage**: Luggage storage is available in a separate room near the building entrance, which is very convenient. You can drop off your luggage right after arriving from the airport and pick it up before you leave. (If you have a climate card, you basically don't need to spend extra on transportation.) The only minor drawback is the lack of individual reading lights in each bed, which can be a bit inconvenient.

GGuest UserThis is a brand-new hostel, and you can really feel that everything is fresh, clean, and thoughtfully set up. During my stay, I had the chance to meet the owners, who were incredibly kind and welcoming. They’ve created a very social and friendly atmosphere, we even celebrated a birthday together, which made the experience memorable and allowed me to meet many great people. The location is excellent, and despite the place being quite busy at times, everything was handled smoothly and efficiently. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were spacious, and it was great to see that they provide plenty of shampoo/conditioner. Check-in was very easy thanks to the self check-in system, and I also appreciated that luggage storage is available. One thing to keep in mind is that the hostel is located on a bit of an incline, plus stairs in the building, so reaching it can be a little challenging, especially if you have large or heavy luggage. I only had a small bag, so it wasn’t an issue for me, but it’s something future guests may want to be aware of. As a small suggestion, it would be great to have power outlets available near each bed for added convenience. Lastly, I’d like to add a personal note regarding a previous “bad” review. I was present during that situation, and from my experience, both the guest and the owners were friendly and kind. It seemed like an unfortunate misunderstanding that escalated, but overall, the environment remained positive. I truly wish the owners all the best with their business, they’re off to a great start.

FFemke SnelsThe place is good however the person running this place is very weird. I had slippers for the shower and I had put them under the bed so they werent in the way. He litteraly took them without telling me. I thought Iblost them until I asked him. There was no reason to take them and he was very reluctant to give them back.

GGuest UserI had a generally good experience until I encountered an issue with the facility. The hostel is promoted as a women-only space, yet I was surprised to see a man sitting at the front desk and walking around the dorm, near the shower room. While I understand a man can be stationed at the front desk, I don’t think it’s appropriate for him to be walking around the floors where the rooms are, especially near the shower area and even sleeping inside the same floor as the female guests. He was actually sleeping directly in front of Room A, which made me feel very uncomfortable. To ensure a safe and private environment for female guests, I believe the shower room should either be relocated to a more isolated area or kept separate from the main lobby. If men are present on the same floor, the layout should be reconsidered for privacy, perhaps by having a common area or a separate designated space for shared amenities. This would enhance the experience and comfort of those staying here.

Mmanubn88The pros: Just 5 minutes walk to the Hyehwa station Very clean room Breakfast and ice cream are unlimited The location is very good with plenty of restaurants and Shops Cons: Can’t wear shoes inside the hotel and need to carry them. This creates an insane amounts of inconvenience Overpriced rooms. On some Korean websites the price for the same room is half Only the shower is there in the room. So need to use the shared toilet which has a weird lock that doesn’t really lock and can be opened from the outside by anyone as it’s not a real lock. This creates an insane amounts of inconvenience. Poor soundproofing. I could literally hear what my neighbours are talking and hear people walking around in the all the night There’s no windows at all This makes it very hard to sleep I don’t think I will ever stay here again unless there’s no other choice

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great location, with several metro stations nearby and situated in the palace district. It's very clean and the service is good. The only drawback was that the air conditioning in my room wasn't working, so I couldn't regulate the room temperature. But overall, everything was good.

KKaidiniyaWe stayed at Apollo Guesthouse for five days in October and had a great experience. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a private bathroom. Although there was no daily cleaning, everything was tidy and well-maintained. The location is very convenient — two subway stations, 24-hour convenience stores, and plenty of cafés are all within walking distance. There’s also a shared kitchen on the first floor, which was very handy. The staff were wonderful — they all speak excellent English, and everyone was polite and friendly. The hotel definitely offers great value for money. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Apollo Guesthouse to other travelers.

GGuest UserThe room wasn't particularly large, but it had a TV and there was a convenience store and Starbucks nearby, so it was convenient. The service was also good, and I'd like to stay here again.

GGuest UserWe were able to locate the guest house easily using Naver Map. However, our first struggle was how to reach the destination itself. The guesthouse is located in an uphill area, almost near Namsan Cable Car (600km/20min walk). A great tip we discovered (after struggling of walking uphill for 2 days 😂) was using the escalators/elevators near the Ihoeyeong Memorial Hall. Go straight from there and you’ll find a 7-Eleven convenience store upon crossing the street. Go left then right at the first wide alley way you see, it should be uphill. Keep on walking until you see a signage of mama guest house on your right side. We booked a day before our arrival so we could immediately check-in in our rooms. A note welcomed us and our keys were found at the reception area. Pls don’t forget to remove your shoes and change into the slippers they provide found in the shoe cabinet at the left side of the entrance. Our rooms were next to each other, but differ in size. Bathroom was okay, but I hope they’ll fix the sink’s pipe problem in room 104 since it leaks on the floor upon using. I suggest buying shower filters (5,000 Won) since the water in SK is quite harsh. I suggest to test how you’ll adjust the temperature when showering. There were no bidets in our bathrooms. Always bring your keycard with you whenever you go out. They don’t go into your rooms like hotels would. If you have any requests, just leave a note on their desk (ie. New towels, tissue, etc.) They also don’t have laundry machines. Do not eat inside the rooms, only in the kitchen which is in the basement. If you feel like your trash bins are getting full, trash bins are found in the lobby and segregate everything according to their waste category. Just think of it as you’re staying on your own room. Walls are thin, made of light wood materials so I wouldn’t suggest talking nor listening to your phone loudly. Breakfast menu were cereals with milk, bread and flavored jam, and instant noodles. You can only consume what’s inside the fridge unless there’s a note that a room guest owns it. You can cook and buy your own food, just make sure you clean up after. You can also fill-up your water bottles here. Going to different areas are easy too since it’s near Myeongdong Station exit 1. If you’re planning to go shopping in Myeongdong, just go straight after exit 1 and you should see E-Mart across the street then cross on the first crosswalk you see. If you want to enter the “main” street, go left until you see the bug HBAF building. Overall, I think our stay was a good since the staff we get see was very accommodating to our requests. I just hope they’ll fix some of their bathroom leakage.
