MMichael_Becker_I really enjoyed my stay at Heart Hostel. The owner and other guests there are quite friendly to us, some of them could speak English fluently and gave us a lot of useful advises for food and sightseeing in Zhengzhou. This hostel is located at a very convenient place in Zhengzhou, near the metro line 2 station Liulin. There is free drinking water in the kitchen, it has refrigerator and air conditioner, and wash machine as well. The rooms are very clean and quiet, we slept quite well.😊
Only a small problem🥺: It is a little difficult for us foreigners to find the hostel, it is marked Gaode Map, but we don’t have this app. We called the owner before arrival and he guided us from the metro station. To help you guys to find the hostel, I post a route map made by me, hope it could be useful.

GGuest UserThe location is amazing and up until the last few hours we were very satisfied with our stay. They gave a free upgrade to their newly refurbished 4th floor and that room really was awesome. We were not aware they cooked dinner well so we are out but should have dined at the Homestay. Breakfast was very simple but satisfying. They provide a transfer to Shaolin in a super nice car and plenty of free water to take with you during the day. So far so good. Now perhaps we are lost in translation but we indicated having a ride to our next stop charging between 260 and 380 through the didi app. Waaayyyy to expensive they said and offered to call a cab. The cab however was 445, a much higher rate. All rates included the toll. We asked about the type of car and were shown a luxury car. That car and that price were similar to didi premier so we said okay. Then they said it would take half an hour. We didn’t want that so said we would just go for the didi. They then said the taxi would be there faster. As you may guess; it was not. We ended up waiting well over half an hour and the taxi was a regular taxi. They ride was good, driver friendly etc but we felt a bit off about the way this went down. Again: could be lost in translation here so if you just arrange your own ride you will have an awesome stay with them. Ask for the nice room on floor 4! Picture is the view from our room.

The Dengfeng Youlu Homestay was a very nice experience and can be highly recommended.
The rooms were very clean and modern. Spacious and with comfortable beds. The bathroom was also modern with nice amenities.
The location is a little outside the city, but closer to the main attractions to Mount Song. So easy to reach with taxi. We found the location very good and convenient since we wanted to go to the scenic areas.
We had breakfast included and found it very tasty and nice. It was plain and fresh and a nice selection of nutritious food before starting the day.
The service was very good. The hosts didn’t speak much English, but we used translator apps so absolutely no problem for foreigners.
The Dengfeng Youlu honestly has a nice compound with a Chinese garden. They also have a pool. It looks very comfy and cosy to sit and enjoy the garden, but we were there in beginning January so it was wintertime. The room we got had nice view of the garden and the mountains.
We can for sure recommend this homestay and we think the reviews written so fare are very correct.

JJiandanjiandanaiThis guesthouse is super close to Shaolin Temple, making it very convenient for getting around. The rooms are clean and tidy, and they even provided complimentary snacks and fruit. It's quiet at night, so we had a very comfortable stay. The two handsome guys and pretty girls at the front desk were incredibly enthusiastic and thoughtfully shared travel tips and strategies for the attractions, making us feel very welcome. They even drove us to and from the Shaolin Temple scenic area. The guesthouse offers free foot massages and foot soaks, and there's also a card room and a tea room. After a tiring hike, it was great to relax with a foot soak and some tea. There's a restaurant on the first floor, which was very convenient for meals. The landlady cooks herself, and her culinary skills are amazing! She even carefully asked about any dietary restrictions, which made me feel so warm inside. I never expected such high-end, personalized service, just like a private restaurant, where she cooked exactly the light-flavored dishes I wanted. Every staff member at the guesthouse was friendly and welcoming, making our stay incredibly comfortable.

KKaiputengyangIn fact, quite by chance, I arrived at this very mountain-like B&B. The boss has the style of a hermit. Although he doesn't talk much, he is very sincere. Objectively speaking, the details of the room are very good, and the linens are all hotel-level. Although there was a slight problem with bath water, it was quickly resolved.
It's very quiet here, except for the sound of wind and cicadas, there are only the sounds of kittens and dogs. There is a path leading into the mountain at the back. The lack of water during the dry season is probably the only regret. This place is connected to standard provincial highways and standardized roads. At the end of the road is the parking lot of the B&B. When you reach his house, your mobile phone will lose signal. Just connect to the boss's wifi as soon as possible. It is less than a 25-minute drive from Shaolin Temple, Zen Shaolin and other famous attractions. Even if you dine late in the city, you can get back here in no time. The road passing by Tangyao Village is quite bumpy for a while, and the traffic problem should not delay it for too long. The direct route to here is actually in the mountain nest. It is quite pleasant to live quietly for a few days and enjoy the tranquility between heaven and earth. The parent-child room for a family of four is quite satisfactory, but next time, I want to experience the private courtyard. I look forward to having a tea party with the boss next time. Love in early autumn, peace!
Tips: The last two are recommended by the boss, the Chu Zu'an Main Hall, and the Yongtai Zen Temple near the B&B. As a lover of ancient architecture, it is a worthwhile trip to appreciate the ancients while raising children. 🤣

KKinga AnnaIt is our first time in China - it was a great stay - owner is very helpful - helped us to organise the tickets to Zen Music Festival, and she showed us the attractions in the area, we enjoyed the food - traditional breakfast, we had traditional hot pot for the dinner - great experience, also she made for us in the evening traditional tea (Pu-erh, and green tea) - unforgettable moments. Thank you very much for the hospitality.

It is very close to the high-speed rail station and can be reached easily on foot. It is really convenient for me who is catching the high-speed rail. The room design is warm and comfortable, making people feel the warmth of home as soon as they enter the door. In particular, the room was impressively clean and tidy. I think this island is a good choice for both business and leisure vacations.

GGuest UserA very elegant B&B with comfortable and hygienic rooms. The host was very friendly and provided suggestions and help that allowed me to successfully complete many visits within the schedule that was originally shortened due to accidents (thank you again ☺️). The B&B is a 5-minute walk from the gate of Taishi Mountain Scenic Area, which is very suitable for mountain climbers.

Uun_guillouVery familial guesthouse as close as it can be from Shaolin Monastery. The owners cook good food and can drive you everywhere for a price. The wife is a guide, so she's very resourceful about what to see and do in the area. The husband's brother is a Shaolin monk so you can speak about kung-fu with him. We had a little misunderstanding at the beginning as I had booked a room with a mountain view and the one prepared had no window to the outside but I was able to change rooms. With their help I was able to hike everywher on the beautiful mountains around as I was less interested in kung-fu than the scenery.

AAnonymous UserLocated in Dehua Pedestrian Street, it is very convenient. We checked in at 5am and checked out at 12pm. It is more suitable than hourly rooms. The facilities are old, but the price/performance ratio is high. Overall, I recommend it. The location wins.
