Holiday Inn Express HOHHOT EAST STATION by IHG

The staff were very friendly when I booked the room, and they even gave me two breakfast vouchers instead of one (though I left early and couldn't use them). However, the downside was that the room's cleanliness was just okay. When I tried to open the fridge, the rubber seal on the bottom of the fridge door was stuck to the fridge itself, making it hard to open. I was worried it wasn't clean, so I didn't dare put anything inside. Even more off-putting was a spot on the mirror above the bathroom sink that looked like a bloodstain. I checked in late and initially thought it was paint, but in the morning, it really looked like a blood spot, which made me quite uncomfortable.

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip to Hohhot. First off, the location is convenient, being quite close to the airport, and the price is affordable. As for hygiene, my only minor complaint is that the quality of the bedding felt a bit average, and the towels looked rather old. The complimentary fruit was a nice touch, though.

Overall, the value for money is pretty good during the off-season. The room facilities are a bit dated, but the cleanliness is decent. The breakfast is standard for a Holiday Inn Express, featuring lamb and scallion shaomai, lamb offal soup, and Mongolian milk tea. It's close to the museum, but a bit of a detour if you're driving yourself. I'd recommend taking a taxi.

Really loved this hotel! The environment is great and the location is super convenient; it's just a short walk from Hohhot East Station. The room was also very comfortable and clean. I especially enjoyed the shaomai at breakfast – absolutely delicious!

The hotel's location is indeed very close to the Inner Mongolia Museum, within walking distance. The breakfast options like shaomai (steamed dumplings), guocha (pot tea), lamb offal soup, and beizi (a type of baked bread) were all quite good. The best part, however, is the public area on the 3rd floor. It offers freshly ground coffee, hot tea, and ice, along with a vast collection of books available for borrowing. It's an excellent spot for families with children to read and do homework.
