Atour Hotel (Hohhot Dazhao Hailiang Plaza)

The room was super comfy, and the auntie (housekeeper) was a lifesaver – she'd even take our dirty laundry from the hamper and wash it for us every day, then hang it to dry in the room! Perfect for lazy travelers like us. The hotel's location is also fantastic; it's right across from Kuanzhai Alley, making it so easy to grab delicious food. The Qingkai Bridge behind the hotel is great for a stroll, and the scenery there is beautiful. The front desk staff were really friendly and welcoming too! Plus, the breakfast was tasty, and the savory milk tea was the best I've ever had! Highly recommend!

This was a truly unpleasant experience. It was my second time visiting Hohhot, and my first stay at this Atour hotel. Dogs barked loudly around 10 PM, and then again starting at 5 AM – it was absolutely maddening. I talked to the hotel about changing rooms. After a day out, I returned to the new room only to find that the pillows were yellow and old, and the toothpaste and cotton swabs had clearly been opened and used. I was speechless. On the third day, I woke up to find the floor covered in water because the faucet was leaking. It was beyond ridiculous! While the staff were nice, the overall experience was truly awful.

The breakfast spread is excellent with a good variety, especially the shaomai and lamb offal soup which are quite unique. The afternoon tea is also delicious, and the facilities are comprehensive. They even gave us a small souvenir when we checked out.

The hotel's location is superb, right opposite Kuan Alley and Zhai Alley, making getting around incredibly convenient. The bedding was comfortable, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The staff were also very enthusiastic and welcoming. A perfect experience all around!
