Park Hyatt Saigon

Let's start with the positives: The common areas are absolutely stunning. The decor, carpets, floral arrangements, and artwork all have a distinctive style. The hotel service was excellent, and they even upgraded my room. Breakfast was good, and their specialty coffee was even better than what I found in highly-rated cafes outside. The location is, of course, unparalleled. Although the hotel is old, the carpets and soft furnishings in the common areas are meticulously maintained. Everywhere inside the hotel had excellent air conditioning (I mention this specifically because I found it quite rare in Vietnam). The bedding was very comfortable. Now for the drawbacks: The room facilities are genuinely outdated, which really doesn't match the hotel's positioning. The toilet kept making noise long after flushing. Also, in the evening, there's a club-like area on the first floor, separated from the lobby by just one door, which gets incredibly noisy and somewhat spoils the ambiance. Finally, when I was leaving, I needed to do some work, only to discover that the business center was also being used to store a lot of luggage.😅

Initially, the bed linen in my room was unhygienic, causing an allergic reaction. I reported it to the front desk, and a manager quickly came to handle it. They arranged a new room for me, and I didn't even have to move my luggage. The next day, after mentioning it to the front desk again, they even gave us a complimentary double breakfast. The lobby is stunning, but the pool is quite small. The room decor has a lovely Southeast Asian style, which I generally liked. However, the bathtubs in the bathrooms were noticeably yellowed.

Not bad at all, couldn't really find any major flaws. If I had to nitpick, the restaurant is a bit small and there was a serious queue for breakfast. However, the service and facilities were both excellent.

Absolutely stunning French architecture. The service was excellent, and the hotel's afternoon tea was beautiful and well-presented. The French restaurant was truly impressive, offering a delightful fusion of French and local cuisine. A wonderful dining experience overall.

⚠️ WARNING! ‼️ Park Hyatt is supposed to be one of the top five hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, but seriously, don't stay here, don't stay here, don't stay here. I personally experienced incredibly rude treatment from the hotel staff. I've stayed at no less than 10 different hotels in Ho Chi Minh, and generally, I've found hotel staff in Vietnam to be friendly and gentle. However, this time at Park Hyatt, I had an issue with a hotel policy and was making an inquiry at the front desk. The front desk staff member raised her voice by eight octaves and loudly lectured me. Her arrogance was blatant. I recorded the entire exchange. Her exact words were, "I don't need to tell you these things, just like I don't need to tell you to go to a restaurant to eat," and "If you have a problem, you need to ask; if you don't ask, I don't need to tell you." While this staff member was loudly scolding me, the other two front desk staff members remained silent, a slight, scornful smile playing on their lips. Even though Park Hyatt has a great location and constantly hosts Western guests, given this arrogant attitude, if you don't want to be lectured by the front desk, I'd suggest staying away. I won't post the audio recording for now, but here's a video of the outdated equipment in the room; the AC couldn't be adjusted, and I was freezing at 22 degrees Celsius.

The environment, service, facilities, and location are all excellent. It was a great experience, though the price was a bit on the higher side. Overall, it's fantastic.

Great service and an excellent location, although the facilities are a bit dated. The gym, however, was very clean.

Absolutely fantastic, a must-stay! My child said this hotel is the best place in Ho Chi Minh City.
