Ensana Thermal Heviz

Everything was good. Personal too. I suggest this hotel to everyone.

We were at the Ensana Heviz hotel from September 25 to October 8. . The location of the hotel is not bad. The pool area is laid out normally. Good breakfasts and dinners. The staff is mostly polite. But The furniture in the room is very old and needs updating. Very poor room cleaning. The carpet on the floor was so old and dirty. The balcony was not clean. At the hotel, my husband and I took 14 procedures each, considering that these packages of more than 10 procedures should be at a discount. But we paid for this before leaving and realized that we did not have any discounts and the price for these procedures was greatly increased. The price for 1 procedure is almost 25 dollars. This is incredible! This is a clear deception that we did not expected! Unfortunately we will not go to this hotel again.

I came here to treat my bad back in the thermal waters which hotel has in its own pools in the basement. In addition you can see the doctor who will examine you and prescribe treatment plan for which they give you package price. Therefore in this sense I have fulfilled purpose of my visit. However all facilities need modernisation. It is privatised communist block. Whoever bought it from the state - maintains it but does not update it much. We have stayed in a suite on the 4th floor - room remembers 1980s. It is functional, practical and clean but this standard absolutely does not justify 300 Euros per night! Pictures on the booking website are heavily photoshopped. I pay that much for a suite in a French Rivera and not in the town 200 km from Budapest! Fair enough - half board was included but food was blunt cantine style. Desert options were stand out - there was large selection of mini cakes. Overall I did enjoy my stay and everyone works really hard there to run it smoothly but I felt I have overpaid for the quality of accomodation. If you are after treatments - don’t include Sunday in your stay as therapists do not work that day. You can only use thermal pools - one quite warm, another very warm. Pool area is very busy on Saturday afternoon so I will avoid weekend next time. The best time is to come before breakfast. They have sauna - very good, steam room - unless you stand in front of the steamer you won’t feel anything. Please rethink the prices or invest in a modernisation for us to be returning.

We have been here several times, most recently from 4 to 11 February 2023. We have to state that the level of the hotel is getting worse year after year and this time we were already so disappointed with our stay that we will not come here again unless there is a radical improvement in all directions. It starts with the management of the hotel, which is either incompetent or not professionally up to par. Otherwise, the director could not order not to publish the menu for lunch and dinner for guests who have half or full board!? The hotel has seven floors and has 3 elevators. One of them is not working for the second year, so when the hotel is more occupied, you wait for long minutes for the elevator. The hotel bar has slouchy armchairs and shabby upholstery. The furniture is past its best years and needs to be replaced. You don't get warm in the bar - it's cold there, so we don't recommend it. The hotel is equipped with a swimming pool, a hot tub, thermal pools with healing water, an outdoor experience pool and a sauna world. Although the facilities are great, there are issues such as the automatic doors not working, the outdoor sauna is limited to 3 days a week, the sauna lacks thermometers, multiple sauna timers, and the "sauna" in the indoor sauna is in a bathing suit!? :-( The four-star hotel offers lunches and dinners without tablecloths on the table with only plastic placemats and gives cloth napkins. The quality and range of food was at a really low level this year. You can feel the great savings on the quality of the raw materials. A plus is the offer of a non-alcoholic drink included in the price. In general, the hotel would need better management and complete repair and renovation of non-functioning equipment.

Nice hotel with wonderful healing water from the lake nearby. Very pleasant friendly staff, and everywhere - at the reception, in the restaurant, in the wellness area. The thermal water in the healing pool is changed every day. The thermal pool is only open until 7pm. The rest of the pools and sauna are open until 9pm. This is especially limiting if you plan walks or excursions during the day, and in the evening there is not much time for pools and saunas. How to improve: I'm sure all the guests would appreciate it, if the opening hours were extended by at least an hour, until 8pm and 10pm respectively. Spacious sauna area. Great big finnish sauna. What is unpleasant - the sauna is full-textil zone. We understand different opinions. But when people come to sauna in the same swiming suits they used a few minutes ago in thermal pools - it is really unhygienic and unhealthy for those people and other sauna visitors. How to improve: It would be much more convenient, if sauna is textil-allowed a half of the day, and textil-free afternoons. Nice restaurant. Good variety of dishes. The taste of food for dinner can differ markedly - one day everything is delicious, the next day all the dishes look very attractive, but they taste like nothing. No idea why. For breakfast, the assortment is not bad, but absolutely the same, always. It gets boring after a few days. How to improve: if the chefs could add some variety to breakfast, it would improve the whole experience a lot.

Important is to go when in Heviz is a wine and food festival to make the maximum from your stay, Thermal pools are very good so no need to go to the lake. Very close a lot of nice small towns close to Balaton. It is also a must to visit a butcher shop in the center of town and a local wine cellar close to the,, train statue,, local wines and palinka also must.

I had a great experience with the entire place, missed the evening meal --＞ they re-scheduled for next mid day lunch, the beds inside the rooms are amazing, they expect us with pool robes for each (including a small one for my daughter), all the pools are big and you have enough room to swim. I recommend this hotel for relaxing purposes, swimming, and of course EATING. Good and delicious food each day.

I agree with a previous review about the hotel. Sure I understand that it is getting very expensive to run the AC 24/7 (though i think someone changed their mind on this during our stay) and elevators do break, but in selecting a hotel there are some other considerations. The hotel seems to cater to germans and russians. Being neither, the food lacked any appeal (saucy overdone meats worse vegetarian offerings) and the fruit flies hovering over the fresh fruit did not help (nor the reappearance of certain salads not quite fresh the next day). Ok, so I am not a meat and potatoes type. Now considering the demographics seems to skew to 70+ who are here for the health benefits, one would hope the food would be healthier. The pools were nice with the outdoor one having several different bubble effects. Service was efficient and abrupt but seemed to lack a certain compassion or quality of "keeping the guest happy" that you find in "western" resorts. Most appeared to just be doing their job, and for the most part, well.
