Solo Sokos Hotel Torni

Helsinki|2.04km from Sibelius Park
Torni's location makes it ideal for a visit to Helsinki. Everything can be found within walking distance – if you are willing to leave the hotel in the first place! When hotel Torni opened in 1931 it was the first skyscraper and world class hotel in Finland. Hotel Torni marked the beginning of a new era in Helsinki’s image and atmosphere. The history of Torni is inseparable from the history of Helsinki; artists, journalists, politicians, decision makers and friends of good food have often gathered here since 1931. Helsinki’s renovated historic hotel Torni opened its doors in the spring of 2022. When completed, it was the tallest building in Helsinki and a skyscraper of its time. It is still one of the tallest buildings in Finland. The American Bar, opened in 1960, has always been a unique meeting place in the heart of Helsinki. The magical atmosphere of the cocktail bar and enchanting drinks transport the visitor beyond the reach of everyday life. You can find it at Hotel Torni – enter through the doors on Yrjönkatu and step into the atmosphere of Torni. They draw inspiration from the carefree attitude of American influences and infuse a touch of magic and modernism into the classic cocktail perspective. All the ingredients for their drinks, such as syrups and berry powders, are crafted by hand in the Torni kitchen. Solo Sokos Hotel Torni is an unforgettable hotel experience in the centre of Helsinki, full of art and historical moments. Over the years, many important guests – from royals to movie stars and writers to artists – have enjoyed the bohemian and international atmosphere of Hotel Torni. The room’s elegant expression of form and the light that beautifully filters through the historic building’s windows bring out the spirit of Torni in a special way. Enjoy the surprising details, fall in love with the pieces of art picked from the house art collection and have a good night’s sleep in the fluffy bed. Choose the Art Deco Suite, when you want an unforgettable Helsinki experience. The gorgeous Art Deco suite with its unique details offers the most luxurious hotel experience. In the elegant corner room, you can admire the life in Helsinki’s design districts in peace from your own balcony. A relaxing bath will crown your memorable stay. When staying in the suite, we recommend that you enjoy their incredible breakfast privately in your suite. There is always something interesting to taste in Torni's kitchen, and good wine is always available. Their wonderful breakfast guarantees a perfect start for a workday or holiday, and their personal service (always with the nicest smile) makes their guests return to Torni again and again. Welcome to the top of experiences. With Solo Sokos Hotel Torni's breakfast, you'll pamper yourself into the new day! The breakfast is served at the OR restaurant on the hotel's ground floor. They make the products served at the breakfast in the Torni kitchen, choosing their favourites from the local delicaci

Scandic Pasila

Helsinki|2.04km from Sibelius Park
Scandic Pasila was a great place - good price, beautiful rooms, fabulous breakfast, super service and close to modes of transportation. It's about a 12 minute walk from the Tripla Mall which is a railway stop. We could catch trains easily to the waterfront area where we caught trams to other parts of the city. The system is easy and convenient. There is even a tram stop right outside the hotel and we used that line several times. Our room had twin beds that pushed together to make a king-size bed. We had plenty of floor and storage space, a small fridge, desk, closet and nice, roomy bathroom. The windows had room darkening shades that helped with outside light at night. The nicest feature was that the floor of the bathroom was HEATED as well as the several-layer towel racks! It was nice to not feel cold on your feet in the bathroom and it was easy to rinse clothing items out and dry them on the towel racks - very nice! The hotel is big and well maintained. The staff helped with every question or need we had. We never encountered anyone unwilling too help us. The breakfast area is huge but can get congested if there is a conference in town or the hotel is full. You can take food to your room but we found space every day in the dining room. The food was plentiful and varied: meats, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, yogurt, granola, cereals, breads, rolls, jams, muffins, breakfast casseroles, eggs, desserts, candy, hot and cold drinks. We will definitely stay there again and we will suggest it to friends traveling to Helsinki.

Hotel traffic: Take the light rail to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to the Central Railway Station, get off at the terminal (Central Railway Station), about 30 minutes, the ticket is 4.1 Euro; if the luggage is not too heavy, you can walk to the hotel, about 20 Minutes, 1.5 kilometers away, via the National Museum of Finland, the main library of the University of Helsinki. 2. Hotel facilities: clean and simple, typical Scandinavian style, the bed is very soft; remind two points: a) the hotel does not provide a kettle, slippers; b) long-haired girls suggest to bring a hair dryer, the hotel's hair dryer power is small; 3. Breakfast at the hotel: Breakfast is rich in variety, both cold and hot. The hotel provides oatmeal and pickles for friends who are not used to western food. If you are not used to eating cold food for breakfast, there is a microwave oven on the side and you can heat it by yourself. ; 4. Hotel services: The front desk and room attendants are very enthusiastic and friendly, and they also know how to protect the privacy of guests. One reminder: a) If you need to provide room cleaning and finishing services, you must hang the service tag on the door handle; 5. Around the hotel: The city of Helsinki is not big, the hotel can be reached on foot from various attractions, about 20-30 minutes, friends who do not want to hike, there is a taxi at the entrance of the hotel, the bus station is on the side; if you need to buy daily necessities / Food / fruit, there is a large supermarket K-supermarket on the way from the Central Railway Station (mentioned above) to the hotel; This is a good value hotel, I hope the content I wrote can help you a little.

Scandic Meilahti

This was our first hotel on our 4-hotel 6-night staycation in Helsinki. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Meilahti Hospital area. My partner had an early morning check-up there and it was practical to stay the previous night nearby. Also in April, there was a point offer -50% off at this hotel. So one night was just 10000 Scandic points. Point stays are usually for standard rooms but as my partner is a Scandic TOP Level member, we were upgraded to a superior room. These rooms are spacious corner rooms with plenty of windows. It is nice that there are also windows in the bathroom. Probably because of the support column, it has been challenging to place the furniture. So the television could be watched only from the bed, not from the sofa or chair. The breakfast was pleasantly calm and had a good selection of food.

We just stayed 4 nights in this brillant hotel in Helsinki. Location is top, near everything. Staff at reception was always very helpful and had a lot of information for us for visiting this exciting city. Room was good and quiet (to the backyard, we could sleep with open windows). Following the concept of the hotel, there is no minibar in the room, but a large communal fridge in the lobby area. Safe available at the reception. The hotel bar is also highly recommended. Courteous service and good (seasonal) drinks, beer, etc. Outside opening hours, drinks are available in a fridge and can be paid for at reception. Absolutely recommendable hotel for Helsinki.
Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Helsinki

The hotel is at the entrance of kampin subway station, across the road is the subway entrance, and there are many trams. It can be reached by train from the airport to the central station, or a ten-minute walk, and the city center is around , Helsinki's new library, concert hall, contemporary art gallery, silent church and other attractions. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the facilities are fully renovated, that is, the toiletries and slippers need to go to the front desk. Now all the hotels in environmental protection do not provide them actively. The breakfast room is very large, the bar is open late at night, and the variety is very very rich. The smoked salmon is particularly delicious.

Crowne Plaza Helsinki - Hesperia

We travelled as a family in August 2022. We had already book a Junior Suite and my top tier of IHG Status was not really recognised except for the breakfast. There was no room upgrade offered nor were there any extra amenities for the room or even a welcome letter. We did have access to The Club Lounge which had limited breakfast choices and then a decent evening buffet between 6pm and 8pm. The lounge was rarely staffed and the door was left open so I am unsure if all those in the lounge enjoying the beer and wine had full entitlement. It would have been nice if the desk in the lounge had been manned at certain times. The staff we met were all most friendly. The breakfast on the ground floor could not be faulted. Service was polite and most efficient. Cooked eggs were available on request. Vegans had a wide choice and this part of the hotel ran well. The hotel boasted the IHG Clean Promise. There were areas that needed attention. When I advised staff that the lifts were dirty and used glasses were in corridors this was attended to promptly. Moving forward the hotel needs to promote itself better. There are empty poster display cabinets everywhere. They could be used to promote the health club, restaurants and room service. If visiting the Hotel we recommend the restaurant Kuu which is opposite the side entrance of the Hotel. Booking is advised.
