Went to a friends a wedding. Such a beautiful setting in what felt like a country home overlooking woodland deer. Yet close to all transport links. The employees were excellent and we all had a wonderful time. Food very good, drinks reasonable.

What a lovely hotel. Set in its own grounds the hotel and adjacent lodge and church are 17th century and a real delight. As I only booked a single room my room was in the lodge a few minutes walk back up the long driveway. The room was as the description states a "single room" and was small and compact. The room as very clean a well appointed. The bathroom was a surprise with only a bath and no shower. This has to be the only hotel in my 40 business years that didn't have a shower. It didn't help that a previous occupant had broken the handle to assist getting out of the bath. I did wonder whether I was going to be stuck until someone came as I am not as agile as I was! The range of toiletries was meagre to say the least. Breakfast was good, as was the service from the staff. The reason I chose this hotel as a last minute stay was on price alone as it was the cheapest around so it was excellent value for money albeit a very small room.

Thank you to this hotel for accommodating us for this week, a great hotel which we used both for food, drinks, rooms and conference suites. Hotel rooms are really nice the estate is stunning and the food was really good. It would be a beautiful wedding venue!

What a fantastic Sunday Lunch celebrating with my family. The food was superb. Beautifully presented and delicious. The tables were laid beautifully and decorated with fresh flowers. We were in the Wellington Room which was just perfect. Staff were excellent. Highfield Park is set in fantastic grounds with stunning views. Highly recommended. Thank you.

We had a lovely afternoon tea today, a present from our daughter. We were greeted and shown to our table with a superb view overlooking Wellington Park. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were very tasty, the scones were warm and accompanied by jam and clotted cream. Tea and coffee were served with top-ups offered. The only thing to mention is that ours included a gin to start, advertised as a gin of our choice but it seemed that the only one on offer out of a plentiful selection was Gordon's. The young lady serving us was very helpful and exchanged this for a Prosecco and a beer. Taking everything into account we had a lovely unhurried afternoon in beautiful surroundings.

Dreadful quality of food - the burgers were disgusting. £18 and the cost price can’t have been much more than £3. I physically could not eat it even though I was starving. Would have been more suited to a lay-by van that you never stop at. Shame because the venue and service was good. Children’s food was v average - all seemed microwaved All v expensive

Don’t have room 10 if you’re a couple. We were given room 10 in the main house as a double room. It was ridiculously small for a double room with the bed up against the wall on one side and no room for bedside tables because of the position of the wall right next to the other side. My husband had to pull the bed out into the middle of the room so I could access the other side without having to climb over him to get in and out of the bed. This room should only be listed as a single. Furthermore the shower was pathetic with no power and desperately needed descaling. We did bring the size of the room to the attention of reception but realistically didn’t expect anything to be done.

Aweful. When they ask if you want to be accompanied to their new wing - take their offer!!!!! Otherwise you’ll be meandering through the carpark for days trying to find a building with ZERO signs on it. Blocked drains, flooded room, reservations system issues, and to top it off NO HOT WATER the morning of checkout. An ops mgr that is keen to dispel any discord instead of addressing issues. Just a regular s*** show.

I arrived very late (after 11pm) but was still able to check in at the reception desk. My room was F10 in Fir Tree Court. Bed was comfortable, decaf in my room as requested. Could not get a TV guide on the TV. Ensuite was okay, shower was lovely, odd smell in the ensuite - not sure what it was but only staying one night.

Super relaxing, lovely staff, fabulous breakfast on the terrace. Whilst rooms are small, they are perfect for a business stop over. When staying at these country hotels I get nervous about being in the annexe, however I couldn't fault this one. Staff couldn't be more polite and helpful. . .I'll be back!

Superb! Beautiful building in a beautiful rural location. I had a comfortable double room in the main house with warm, quiet, clean and very comfortable. Stayed here many times. Staff always helpful and consistent quality. Convenient from both the M3 and M4.

Dissapointing afternoon tea despite initially looking appealing . Was bought by my kids for Xmas, have had afternoon tea here before and it was lovely. This time not so. Cakes were frozen and not fresh, still frozen in the middle. The scones were chewy and despite the offer of unlimited tea and coffee there was never a staff member around to ask for it! Had to go hunting in the main restaurant to get one. The coffee looked more like dishwater, infact the only nice thing was probably my latte. There were 2 other couples here today and both left leaving half the food which speaks volumes.
