We were looking for a small venue for a family wedding, Ashmount fitted the bill perfectly. Beautiful bedrooms all en-suite, each room had its own unique character and charm. The dining room comfortably seated 18 on one large table. The service and the 3 course meal itself was outstanding, we could not have asked for more. A hot cooked breakfast was offered the next morning, again very well presented and nothing was too much trouble, very helpful and obliging staff. Highly recommend this guest house for a comfortable stay with good food and friendly staff.

We have just come home after a lovely & very relaxing stay at Ashmount House. The hotel was lovely, clean and well presented. Our host Robyn was lovely and gave lots of advice and was very knowledgeable about the local and surrounding amenities. The views of the local countryside are stunning.

Where do we start? Don't believe the website when it suggests the hot tub is included, as it isn't. Nowhere does it say it's an additional cost, only to enquire as it's seasonal. My partner did so, and at no point was it mentioned it was extra, so we booked it and an £80 deposit was paid. We'd noticed that it said breakfast was included, but when he went to book it it was an additional cost which seemed odd. Anyway, he went ahead and booked our anniversary weekend away on the 1st Feb, hot tub included, or as it was advertised. 17 days later, no contact other than my partner enquiring, less then 24 hours before we're to check in, my partner gets a voicemail stating that if we want to use the hot tub it'll be extra. Already we've had the breakfast sprung on us (luckily we could opt in or out) when it clearly states on the website it's included, but now the hot tub is extra, not only when it states on the website it is included, but when my partner had enquired about it there was no additional info relayed to us about this? After trying the hotel for several hours trying to speak to someone, but only getting voicemail, we got a meek email back at 7.30ish that night stating they'd had problems with the phone lines, which we do not believe. We ultimately cancelled the night before we were even due to arrive, via email might I add, as it had completely soured our entire anniversary, it wasn't what we were intending to pay for nor what had been advertised on their website. Luckily we had money aside to pay for what we thought we had booked, and used it to stay at The Haworth Old Hall instead (recommended). Since it was sold under false pretences, we are awaiting our deposit but we don't seem to have seen any action yet, nor had ANY communication. Would avoid.

It is nothing like it looks in photo's. It's a complete S---thole outside. Don't book hot tub it's round the side at back looks like a rubbish dump. We had no hot water last night or this morning. Probably 10/15 years ago it would have looked lovely now it just looks old and rundown. Would we return not a cat in hell's chance

Ruined an experience and Christmas present that was booked for months. It's got to be said that we didn't even get to this building, my partner bought me time away at this place as a christmss present for a valentines break away. We receive a phone call on Monday (2 days before it's due) when we are due to go Wednesday, that apparently only our room has had roof leaking and it's unsafe for us to use that room. It was possible we could get the room the next day instead, which to me didn't make sense. It would mean they'd be more than happy for us to use the room with water damage after? You can't repair water damage within 24 hours. We obviously said no to changing our days because it's been booked for 2-3 months and our work has been booked off for it too. We were then offered the only room that was available that had no hottub or anything our booked room had, and this room, we were told, has a bath that wasn't functional/decomitioned. The fact that this room was even offered to us is mind boggling and right now that room is available to book on every website including their own. I think it's pretty obvious that they overbooked, and decided to cancel on the people that used groupon to book with them. We were only offered a straight refund, nothing for ruining an planned experience booked months in advance. I don't believe their excuse, at the time they will be most busy. It's very convenient. And within 2 days of valentines we were told to see what we can find elsewhere, when obviously there wouldn't be anything available. No incentive to want us to come back, no discount apology just a "sorry we are cancelling". Thanks for ruining everything we had planned.

Our 5th time to Ashmount. Whilst the rooms are still lovely and we really enjoyed the hot tub, the place felt like it had lost its identity. It is simply now a collection of rooms to stay in. The wonderful breakfasts were always a highlight of a stay but sadly they have stopped serving any cooked food. The morning breakfast always made it really feel like a hotel! Really hope that the breakfasts at least are brought back.

I'll start with the positives. Ashmount house is in a fabulous location just a 5 minute walk from the top of the main street. We stayed in Dr Mckraken room which was a lovely room. We were advised upon check in that no staff are on site and the emergency number for the manager was pointed out who lived 5 minutes away should there be any issues. We spent a lovely afternoon an evening in Haworth and returned to the hotel. We were just falling asleep when we heard knocking at the front door. As all guests had keys we ignored it. The knocking grew louder and louder until my husband got dressed and went to investigate. 2 disgruntled men who we had seen on check in were not to gain entry with their key and said they had tried to call the emergency number but got no answer. My husband left them downstairs and returned to bed. I heard raised voices for a while downstairs and we had just fallen asleep when 20 minutes later the fire alarm began to sound. We waited a minute to see if it would switch off but then got up and got dressed again and went outside along with the other guests staying (except the 2 men who had just been let in). There was no sign of a fire so we all tried the emergency number which was unavailable. I tried the landline number but no answer. After about 15 minutes of us all standing out in -2 temperatures another guest dialled 111 and was advised to call 999 as the emergency services needed to ensure there was no fire. After another 10 minutes 2 fire engines arrived and the crew checked the property and noticed that the fire break glass by the front door had been smashed. We advised that the 2 men had not yet come outside either. The fire crew went to their room and advised them to come outside. One of them was very aggressive towards the crew and kept insisting that a member of staff should be onsite and why were they not answering the emergency number. The crew were unable to find the shut off panel and suspected it was behind a locked door but as there was no fire they could not break the door in to find out and we would just have to wait until a member of staff turned up. The noise from the fire alarm was unbearable inside the property. We had been outside for over an hour at this point so one couple packed their things and left (had we not been over the limit to drive, we would have done the same). We kept trying the emergency number and after another 30 minutes it connected and the owner advised they would be there in 5 minutes, which they were just before 2am. On arrival they were very apologetic and advised that their phone had accidentally been knocked off charge so had run out of battery, which was why we could not get through. They switched off the alarm and said they would arrange refunds for us all in the morning. It took a while to warm up once back in the room but once we did, we had a comfortable, all be it shorter than we would have liked sleep. The manager was there in the morning and again very apologetic for

We were on our way to Haworth from Scotland. We had a call around 3 from Ashmount asking what time are we expected to arrive. We arrived just after 4. We booked for an overnight stay on 27th September. Check in was smooth with Claire? We didn’t catch her name, sorry. We were shown to our room. It was a lovely room with a beautiful view over the valley. It was clean, the four poster bed was comfortable. There was Sherry, a jar of homemade shortbread biscuits next to the tea tray in the room, which was a nice touch. We were shown a fridge on the landing where there was fresh milk in little jugs and bottled water for all the guests use. Again, that was nice. The shower cubicle is small but we didn’t mind. The view made up for this. As we were not familiar with the area we asked for recommendations where we can have dinner. Claire emailed the info. This was greatly appreciated. It is a 5 minute walk (for us)to the centre. The hotel is ideally located. We had continental breakfast with our stay. Had this in the morning room. Everything was there for hot drinks. On the morning of the check out. Georgia was very hospitable and friendly. The check out was just as smooth as the check in. The Ashmount is a lovely hotel. We can’t fault it. We would stay again if we are in the area.
