Volga Manor

This is our third year staying here, usually for about a week each time. I was pleasantly surprised that the manor upgraded our room again, and we ended up back at the Birch Island Hotel. It feels like fate! They've added more activities in the park, which is great, and the prices haven't changed – still around 30 yuan per ticket, available for purchase on-site or [purchase method missing in original text, assumed online/pre-purchase]. We were so lucky to have two snowfalls during our 6-day stay, it was beautiful. The kids would sleep in, then head straight downstairs to play in the snow until 4 or 5 PM before finally agreeing to come back to the room.

Volga Manor is absolutely beautiful! If you're visiting Harbin with kids, you definitely shouldn't miss this place. Just one snowboard was enough to keep my child entertained for two days. I booked the Volga Manor Hotel, and they upgraded me to the Birch Island Hotel. Thank you! The hotel rooms are bright and clean. It's definitely worth the price. The northern scenery and Russian atmosphere inside are captivating. The snowscape is so stunning! I also met quite a few locals there; it's about an hour's taxi ride from the city center.

Volga Manor was our backup plan after Ice and Snow World closed. Unfortunately, most of their activities were also shut down. The breakfast was decent, and the park itself is quite large. We caught a show, which was pretty good; the performers were very dedicated. All the staff in the park were very friendly.

Terrible service! I left my scarf in the closet and my toiletry bag in the bathroom. After checking out in the afternoon, I called the hotel, and they only managed to find my toiletry bag; the scarf was nowhere to be found. It just goes to show how one small detail can ruin the whole experience! **Environment:** The location is excellent, right at the park entrance, so you don't have to drag your luggage around. **Facilities:** A bit old, but acceptable. The water heater takes about 20 to 30 minutes to reheat after one person showers. **Breakfast:** The buffet breakfast is from 7 AM to 9 AM, but it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the restaurant. However, they continue serving until around 9:30 AM, which is quite nice. As for hygiene, it was a bit concerning – there was a ladybug crawling on a cup.

It's pretty wild to find a hotel in the heart of Northeast China in winter with no underfloor heating and a ban on using AC. They only provided two bottles of water in the room, and when I arrived late at night, the phone was broken when I tried to call for more. The environment is nice, but it's not worth paying an entrance fee just to get in, as all the amusement park rides inside cost extra. As for breakfast, it only goes until [the user didn't specify a time, so I'll leave it open]. You're a hotel, not a B&B with just a few guests! Isn't breakfast until 10 AM standard for a hotel?
