Hôtel du Parc Hanoï

Hanoi|0.38km from Thien Quang Lake
We stayed for 5 days starting from June 3 - June 7. The hotel is well located within the city and the services provided are excellent. The staff are polite, respectful and helpful. We stayed as part of our leisure trip; however the hotel is comfortable stay for business trip as well as the services provided are to the point. The breakfast buffet is excellent and has Continental, Vietnamese, Japanese and Korean in the spread (Even though we are Indians, we prefer to try the local cuisine and continental when staying overseas. So the food was extremely agreeable for us --- however, if you prefer Indian food, they don't provide that in the buffet spread or menu). Also the food we tried by using the all-day in-room dining services were also good. We tried the cheese cake as we had read great online reviews about it while opting to stay at this hotel and it lived upto our expectations. The spa services provided were also excellent and refreshing. They offer currency exchange services at the reception itself, so you don't have to go to bank or money exchange services for converting USD to VND. The room we stayed in was 825 in the non-smoking floor. It offers city view and is clean and hygienic. The washroom is equipped with automatic bidet toilet; and provides hair dryer and other standard toiletries. The housekeeping is done well. To sum up, it was a pleasant stay for us here and would recommend for this hotel to our acquaintances.

Impressive entrance with a short walk to anything you might want/need in Hanoi. Check-in was a breeze when we arrived mid-afternoon. The lobby on Level 1 and restaurant on level 2 are opulent and well-served with competent and English fluent staff. The room I had was well presented, very clean and well-serviced. Great pillows!! Small, but functional bathroom with a great two-way shower. Money can be exchanged at reception at around market rate. The breakfast on level 2 has something for everyone. Vietnamese, western and excellent pastries. Fresh fruit and a great noodle bar. The wait staff and chefs are expert and can create pretty much anything on request. The room service menu is spartan but reasonably priced and well presented and delivered hot. Pasta, pizza, burgers and (of course) Pho. For those not familiar with Vietnamese coffee, fasten your seatbelt before trying. This beverage will wake the deepest sleeper in seconds. Concierge services are effective and non-intrusive. There is a mini-supermarket about 100 metres from the front door where you can find that razor you forgot amongst other necessities. This hotel is brilliantly located near the lake, which is a great location for a stroll. Within a five minute walk you can find pretty much anything that you can think of. There is a roof top bar and pool on level 10 and, to be honest, this was a little disappointing. The pool works, but the surrounds are a little tired and could do with an upgrade. Not a showstopper by any means. The lifts work, the electricity is 100% available and the wifi is fast and consistent. The laundry service is fast and reasonably priced. If you want to outsource laundry, there are several services available close by for USD$1.50 per kilo. My team of 3 stayed here for 12 days and very much enjoyed the facilities and hospitality. I would stay here again any day of the week!!

Positives - Clean, decently appointed VFM accommodation right in the heart of the city. - Friendly & courteous staff members especially Ms Dung at reception & breakfast service plus kitchen staff. - Decent breakfast options for the price charged & good service. - Housekeeping service was efficient and clean for all the 3 nights we stayed there. - Good wifi & amenities. - Help always offered at reception if assistance is asked for. - Walking distance to convenience stores and local restaurants. Unlike the much hyped but unclean & very loud old quarters area this is much much better (personal preference). - Good cancellation policies for last minute booking amendments not too fussy or late cancellation charges. Negatives - For late night arrivals entrance to the hotel can be a bit confusing as it shares the same lobby as the highlands coffee next door. - They have missed the trick by not offering a balcony although their r windows but for a claustrophobic person this can get a bit stressy although not that bad as the windows open wide, my room was very well ventilated, view outside on the higher floors was decent for the city. Overall considering Hanoi & price charged this is a good option to consider if your looking for a clean, hygienic, good location & decent breakfast. Staff are understanding & do not rush you for anything which is a good thing. Most of them speak atleast basic English so communication is not stressed for their is not miscommunication.

Seems like a new hotel when the white looks white. The hotel is just opposite the lake which gives good views to those rooms looking onto the lake. Of course, those rooms rates are higher. The breakfast is nice and number of options (local and non-local); wifi works well in the room, bathroom is nice. rooms are just okay. When I checked in, the hotel gave me a room whose view looked onto the wall of another building. Quite and does not allow natural light to come in. After requesting and requesting, they were able to move me to a higher floor which a clearer view (as they need to put me in a room of the same rate). No lake view but at least natural light and some level of privacy. Apart from that, nothing super great.

The room is big enough, but the facilities are old and a bit stale. For some years, the cleaning is quite clean and tidy! The windows are ordinary single-layer aluminum alloy doors and windows, the sound insulation is not good, and the noise of vehicles on the road is very clear. Breakfast is less, just eat it! There are seafood restaurants at the door, but they are more expensive. Close to the exhibition hall, not two minutes, very convenient!
Hanowood Homestay

We've stayed at Hanowood homestay twice now - the first time in Dec/Jan when we booked one of the rooms with a shared bathroom, and the second time this month, when we came back to Hanoi with my parents, this time booking two rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Both times were excellent. Though old (which is why you're in the French Quarter in the first place - for the old buildings!) the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable, and at an unbeatable price for Hanoi. Hanowood homestay is located off the main road, in an area which is quiet and safe, but also has the advantage of being close to many excellent cafes and restaurants, and in walking distance to major Hanoi attractions. The service is what really brought us back to Hanowood though. Jack, Tony and Stella are fantastic hosts, so friendly and responsive. They really put the ”home” in homestay, greeting us with cups of tea, recommending places to visit, providing us with a list of suggested restaurants (all of which have their own interesting histories and specialities), and they do a superb job of providing services to tourists. You really couldn't ask for a better place to start your Hanoi journey. After booking with Hanowood, you can organise an airport pickup, buy a SIM card from your hosts, and arrange all tours through them, as they are a travel agency too. It really is a one-stop shop, allowing you a hassle-free arrival, which is especially helpful if this is your first time to Vietnam. While we are usually skeptical of places that offer so many services, we found that we couldn't get a better deal elsewhere - the team at Hanowood regularly negotiated better prices for every tour than we found anywhere else, and got us deals far below the prices you'd pay booking direct. We were so impressed when we booked a day trip for two to Ha Long Bay at the beginning of the year that we booked a longer cruise and another tour through them for all four of us during our second stay. We were especially happy to hear Stella's recommendations about the Ninh Binh area since her family comes from the region. The rooms have work surfaces and the wifi is reliable enough to use for work or study. Hanowood is also home to unexpected extras - a free laundry service if you book tours with them, and on two occasions, we were treated to delicious Banh Mi breakfasts during our two-week stay. The staff are always happy to see you and organise everything so quickly, responding to messages night and day. We will always stay at Hanowood homestay if we come back to Hanoi in future, and we couldn't think of a better place for newcomers to Vietnam to start their journey. Cảm ơn Stella, Tony and Jack!
