This is a typical small hotel in Vietnam. It looks like reception isn’t open for 24hours but a man usually stays overnight at the lobby. (Sleeps in the reception area) It is no issue if you check in early morning or midnight but you better inform your check-in time in advance. You have to step up short stairs to get to the reception. Once you check in, there is an elevator but prepare the short stairs with your suitcase/backpack I chose a room with windows. It is cozy with a lot of light and views ( 7th floor) . Most rooms in Hanoi don’t have windows ( small hotels ), this is so nice. This hotel is rather old. I am not sure if no one booked this room for a long time or if the cleaning isn’t done properly. It is dirty. Bathroom and floor are fine but the table and bedside table had some dust on them. There are 2 single beds in the room but they are combined to make it double or king size. If you sleep in the Center, it will be uncomfortable. Amenities: packeted shampoo and conditioner  Toothbrush  Surprisingly there is no small soap bar. There is no complimentary drink at all (no dry freezes coffee, no pet bottle water) At least there is an electric kettle but I didn’t use it as tap water didn’t look good in the kettle. Equipment: - Fridge - AC - TV - Wi-fi (I think it is a bit slow/weak) - Hair dryer  - Linen - Towels Unfortunately, AC looks like only cooler, not.heater. Although it is not too cold in Hanoi, I wish I had heater in the morning.   They must have served a mini bar as I saw menu on the fridge but the fridge was empty as of Jan 2023.  The same applicable to breakfast. They might have served it before COVID-19 but as of Jan 2023, no breakfast. Anyways, overall, it isn’t well maintained. I won't stay here again. It is located very close to train street. You can see it from the corridor.

0/5 - not up to standard. Photos are misleading. Mouldy walls, dusty room and dirty sheets. Reception person was smoking at desk and place just felt disgusting. They ask to keep a passport on arrival. We were meant to have a non-smoking room and stay for 6 nights. The whole place smelt like smoke. We didn’t even stay the night, instead we used their wifi to search for a new place and left. Would not recommend staying at all.

They had not prepared my room yet when I came at 2:15 pm. After around 10 mins, they gave me a Double room instead of a Twin one as booked. They again told me to wait for the Twin room 😏 When I asked how long the wait would be, I needed to do some things in my room before going out at 3 pm. They said, "KEEP WAITING, IT'S NO USE ASKING, THE ROOM IS JUST NOT READY AND I DONT KNOW HOW LONG!!" They said my attitude was bad and didn't want to serve me (although I used honorific words in all my questions) 🙄🙄 "YOU COULD CANCEL IF YOU WANT. YOUR BOOKING IS SO CHEAP THUS WE DON'T NEED" 🙂 NO SORRY AT ALL!! ALL THEY SAID TO ME WAS TO INFORM ME I left the hotel and asked for a refund through Traveloka, but the hotel didn't agree, which means they still wanted my meagre money even when they didn't want to serve me 😏 That's fine I paid them, but people should know about this terrible hotel !! 😏😏

HANOI SUNSHINE HOTEL, UNDER THE DARKNESS OF STAFFS DECEPTIONS TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, This is my first time travelling to Hanoi, Vietnam. The flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Hanoi, Vietnam, was fantastic. Just to let you know, I did stay at Hanoi Sunshine Hotel. This hotel is situated in the Hoàn Kiếm District in a region called Hàng Gai. The address of this hotel is:- Hanoi Sunshine Hotel, 18 P. Hàng Hòm, Hàng Gai, Hoàn Kiếm, Hanoi, Vietnam. The hotel is cheap and plentiful. However, the staff and concierge have poor behaviour and are liars. When I arrived, they asked the taxi pick-me-up to go to a different gate. The concierge never informed me about the changes. I had to call the hotel and frantically search for the pick-me-up driver. Ultimately, I needed to make a commotion so someone could hear me. They offered me Room 704 on the 7th floor, with no access by the hotel's elevator that only reached the 6th floor. Initially, I declined to stay on the seventh floor because it was inaccessible by the hotel's lift, and I had to drag my bags one flight of stairs with my injured knees. The concierge tourist staff did try to impress me by taking my bags and showing the Room 704. I saw that the room was nice, big, and decided to take the room instead. However, I did ask for a single King or Queen size bed in my comments to them. Instead, they had placed two single beds together to make them look like a King or Queen size bed. By the way, I didn't realise that until I slept on the bed. I didn't want to complain anymore because I thought that since everyone realised Before the 2.5 years pandemic, I did not want to emphasise a minor issue. Everything was fantastic from Friday, July 1st to Tuesday, July 5th. Then, suddenly on Tuesday, July 6th, the 5G internet on the 7th floor became inaccessible. The only internet access was the 2.4G internet. This was slow, and when many guests were accessing the internet. Moreover, if a guest or individual in the hotel is doing conferencing, having an online discussion, or online assignment, a 2.4G internet will diminish all possibilities; sometimes, the screen and even audio will just die out in the process. I had repeatedly told the hotel staff about the need for 5G internet, and they nonchalantly heeded my demands. As I had a Chinese HSK 3-1 examination online on July 6th, my HP laptop was not working because online conferencing requires 5G internet. So, throughout the exam, I had to hold close the phone to my ear to hear the questions (for the listening part). For the most part, I had to switch to my active mobile internet, roaming from Malaysia. It was a surreal experience, and I was glad my teacher (the examiner) was understanding. That partially resolved the crisis. Beforecomplain the exam (that I had done in the hotel room), I stressed the importance to the hotel staff about the 5G internet availability. But they didn't care or defiantly refused to heed my instructions. Until I left, they wer
