Novotel Suites Hanoi

The breakfast was good, the surrounding area was convenient, and the bed was very comfortable.

This is a standard 5-star business hotel. Overall, it was pretty good. Hotels in Hebei are generally expensive, so this was decent for the price. If we're ever in the area again, we'd stay here. The room even has a washing machine.

The room was spacious and came with a full set of cookware, an induction hob, and a coffee machine. The breakfast selection was also quite good. If you're looking for excellent value for money, this is a no-brainer. However, the front desk staff doesn't speak Chinese, which contradicts what was advertised on Ctrip. Also, the hotel is about six kilometers from the old town, where all the attractions are concentrated. Taking a taxi back and forth during the Spring Festival cost close to 100 RMB. I spent seven days in Vietnam this trip, and my total taxi fare was 1000 RMB, which is far too expensive.

The customer service staff's English was really poor. I asked them to come to my room because I couldn't figure out how to use the induction cooker, but they hung up and never showed up. I ended up figuring it out myself. Then, I asked for two more bottles of water, and they wanted to charge me, saying that two free bottles are provided daily. But the main point is that a single room also gets two bottles, and our double room also gets two bottles, which isn't enough to drink. I only asked for extra water once during my three-day stay, and the staff said, 'You've already been given your daily allowance; if you want more, you have to pay.' Anyway, their English is terrible, and this translation reflects that. Not okay!

The facilities are clean and nice. The location is a bit awkward, but I just stayed for a night to rest well before catching my flight. As expected, there wasn't much around. You have to take a Grab no matter where you're going. There's a small pool, and since there's no designated smoking area, people were smoking next to the pool. I really liked that they served instant noodles for breakfast in the morning!

Great location and quiet rooms, but the amenities are pretty standard. The breakfast spread is good, and the internet speed is decent.

The bathroom has floor-to-ceiling glass windows, but the curtains don't provide full coverage. People on the street could potentially see guests showering, so I don't recommend staying at this hotel.
