La Siesta Classic Hang Thung

Hoan Kiem District Hanoi|1.29km from Bodhi Temple
I recently stayed at La Siesta Classic Hang Thung for one night, and honestly, it wasn't enough! Hotel Property: 1. The hotel's location is great. It's right in the middle of Hanoi's Old Quarter, so you can easily walk to Hoan Kiem Lake and enjoy the lively atmosphere. 2. What's cool is that the hotel is only two months old and it looks amazing. The rooms are a good size, and the modern design is Instagram-worthy. It's pretty impressive they even squeezed in a pool in the middle of the tight Old Quarter spaces. Service 1. We got to the hotel really early from Sapa, and our rooms weren't ready, but Mr. VP at the front desk was super nice. He went out of his way to arrange a shower for us. It was a real help to get us cleaned up from the long train ride. 2. I accidentally booked a room for 3 persons when there was only 2 of us. Mr.VP immediately noticed it and upgraded us to a junior suite without us knowing. That was a pleasant surprise and definitely made our day. The Not-So-Great Stuff: There were a couple of small issues that could have made the overall experience even better. 1. We asked for more water and ice around 9 pm, but they never brought it. Eventually, we went out and buy water, and reminded the front desk to send some ice to the room. But even after reminding the front desk personally, no ice came all night. 2. Food at breakfast was good, but the service could he better. When we wanted to sit by the window, the server insisted that we sit at another table. She rolled her eyes at me when I told her that we prefer to sit by the window. She then cleared our table quite unwillingly. She just changed the cutlery but did not replace the used placemats. We didn't bother her after that as she seemed annoyed. But despite these minor hiccups, I'd definitely recommend La Siesta Classic Hang Thung to anyone looking for a great stay in Hanoi. It's a lovely place with pretty and clean rooms and lovely front desk staff.

Hoan Kiem District
They were so nice! Because I arrived early, I was ready to wait for a room. But they said a guest had missed their flight and not checked out. They asked if I would take a lower grade room and they would pay for the cab to the airport and fix me a takeaway breakfast since I was leaving at 5:30am. Sure! Only one night, my room without windows has a '”cooler” not refrigerator but a note on it said I could keep food in kitchen if necessary. Not needed but thoughtful. The room was adorable and I took a nap before heading out and exploring the streets that evening. Very safe, interesting shops and eateries nearby. Would definitely stay again.
