Hangzhou Overseas Chinese Hotel Reviews

The room was clean, though the facilities are a bit old. The location by West Lake is truly excellent. For the past few years, whenever I visit Hangzhou, I always choose the Overseas Chinese Hotel. It's so convenient: from Hangzhou East Station, just take Metro Line 1 for four stops to Longxiang Station, then it's about a 7-8 minute walk to the hotel.

I booked three rooms. In the first room, the sheets had short hairs and fuzz, so I asked the staff to change them. I told my friends to check their rooms too, and sure enough, there were long hairs under the pillows. The staff said it might have been left by the person making the bed, which was just speechless. The decor is really, really old; the leather chairs are falling apart and cracked. The location is the only positive. The soundproofing is terrible; for two days, a tour group started making noise at 6 AM. And don't even get me started on the front desk – not a single smile from anyone during check-in or check-out.

The room was extremely old, almost falling apart. The shower in the bathroom was broken and hadn't been fixed; I only found out when I went to use it and they had to rush to call someone to repair it. The location is incredibly beautiful. The front desk service was very confused. Poor review.

Hangzhou Overseas Chinese Hotel is a long-standing state-owned hotel with a great environment! The facilities, hygiene, ambiance, and service are all excellent. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hangzhou.

The location is fantastic, right by West Lake, so you can enjoy the night view, the musical fountain show, and a night market for strolling in the evenings. The restaurants next to the hotel also offer delicious food. It was very pleasant to just walk around and try different places to eat.

Every year, I visit Hangzhou, and while the Overseas Chinese Hotel is a bit older, its proximity to West Lake and the pedestrian street is incredibly convenient for dining, sightseeing, and parking. We spent our days exploring, enjoying delicious food and beautiful scenery, then returned to the hotel for a shower and a good night's sleep, ready to head out again bright and early. It's truly excellent value for money.

Great location, but the facilities are old.

The facilities are old and the decor feels like it's from the 90s. There was a strong, unpleasant smell, and I really didn't want to stay. I checked in around 1 AM but checked out less than half an hour later. The front desk suggested I apply for an hourly room or cancel the order. The person I spoke to on the phone was very impatient and had an extremely poor attitude. Be careful if you're thinking of staying here.

This was the worst accommodation experience I've ever had during my holiday trip. The room cost 532 yuan per night, with no breakfast included. The moment I stepped inside, I was hit with a stench like sewage. The hotel staff claimed they couldn't smell it—are our noses just too sensitive? The 1-meter single bed was incredibly small. There were bloodstains on the curtains. The mirror in the room faced directly towards the bed—I don't know what the hotel was thinking. The cabinet doors looked like they were about to fall off. All the facilities were very old and worn. After a long day, seeing this environment made me lose all desire to shower. Luckily, I only booked one night. In short, I don't recommend staying here. There are many, many more hotels around West Lake.
