Merchant Marco Hotel

Our last stop on the trip coincided with Typhoon 'White Dolphin' passing through. We braved the wind and rain to visit West Lake, enjoying the myriad beautiful views. Choosing to stay at the Marco Polo Holiday Hotel was truly a bright spot on our journey, making us feel right at home. They even provided Dettol hand soap, and Lux shampoo and body wash! The service at the front desk was exceptionally good... Plus, there's a gym, a kids' play area, and a tea room – everything you could ask for! 👌👌👌👌

Facilities: All very good. Hygiene: Exceptionally clean. I booked for two nights and immediately extended my stay. Environment: Great location, very close to West Lake. Service: The front desk service was excellent, and the room service was also very good.

The hotel's location is excellent. It's within a 10-minute walk of Longxiangqiao subway station, Hubin Intime City, and other attractions. West Lake is also just about a 15-minute walk away. The hotel is entirely Marco Polo themed. From the public areas of the lobby to the details in the rooms like mirrors and doorknobs, the color scheme and patterns consistently reflect the theme, showing a very thoughtful design. The room isn't huge, but it's incredibly clean! I booked a room with hardwood floors, which were truly spotless. Walking barefoot on them felt comfortable and completely clean—a rare experience in Chinese hotels! There's a viewing garden on the 18th floor with views of West Lake. Unfortunately, I stayed during a typhoon, but I would definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Hangzhou. The only minor flaw was the outdated hairdryer; I was worried it might damage my hair if I used it too long. I hope they'll update it in the future.

I rarely review hotels, but I really have to share my experience with this one. This was by far the worst hotel of my entire Zhejiang trip. The facilities are old and run down, and the hygiene was terrible. The toilet wasn't clean, and there was hair left on the bathroom floor near the entrance. The stay was a really bad experience, and I honestly don't know how it has so many good reviews online. For the same price during peak season, the nearby 'Friendly XXX' is a much, much better option.

This hotel is super convenient! It's less than a 10-minute walk to West Lake, In77, Gonglian CC, and Longxiang Bridge subway station. The decor has a vintage feel, and they provide Dettol hand soap and Lux body wash and shampoo. There's a Xin Zhou Ji restaurant right next door. You can even get a distant view of West Lake from the 18th-floor terrace. Breakfast starts early at 6:30 AM, and the staff are all really friendly and enthusiastic.

Traveling with kids, we stayed in a lake-view king room and were generally satisfied. The breakfast was plentiful. It was easy to catch a taxi right outside. I just felt there's still room for improvement in the service, but then again, you get what you pay for, and for the price, it was generally okay.

Great location, very close to West Lake, within walking distance. The lively Hubin Pedestrian Street is also nearby. The hotel service was excellent, very clean, and a comfortable stay.

The hotel's location is excellent, surrounded by many high-end and mid-range shopping malls. Transportation is convenient, only six subway stops from Hangzhou East. Breakfast was average, and the room's color scheme was a bit dark, lacking a full-length mirror, which wasn't ideal.

On my first day visiting Hangzhou, this hotel provided excellent service. The front desk staff, especially the ladies, were wonderful, enthusiastic, and polite. The hotel environment was clean and tidy, and it was conveniently close to all the attractions. I'll definitely book this place again when I come back!
