Lake Ashi
Right next to lake Ashi the hotel boasts very good views and location. The food we had was very good but we were part of a coach trip so the menu was tailored to us. The breakfast was however a delightful surprise as it was better than expected. The staff were as always for Japan very pleasant and accommodating. The morning presented us with great pictures of Lake Ashi with Mount Fuji in the background.

Be sure to choose the invincible lake view room in the East or West Building! The hotel is designed by a famous artist, including Togo Murano's work in 1978. The famous red swan chair and the sofa in the guest room are full of contemporary feel. The hot springs are fully equipped. Don't worry about the bumpy journey. The hot springs and delicious food immediately take away the fatigue of the day. The only drawback is that the gap between old and new services brings completely different feelings. Language communication is a common problem when traveling in Japan, but the hotel's training for new employees urgently needs to be strengthened.

Except for some minor twists and turns during check-in, the check-in experience was perfect. Very spacious and comfortable single-family cabin, the hot spring is great! Hope to stay again if I have the chance!

We met 2 staff at restaurant there that were not cheerful and giving us a poker face! They even urge us to finish our breakfast when we just started for 15 mins, saying that just 15 more mins were allowed. The female staff standing at the front desk of restaurant looks like she was suffering and unhappy about her job, without any reasons, we have no clue why she acted that way. The food provided in both dinner and breakfast buffet are just so so and not much to choose from. The view from the room is excellent as the location itself is in front of the lake, the room is spacious and clean! However, with such service, I will not come back and not recommended to others, there are more options in Hakone in similar price.

The hotel is far from Hakone Yumoto. I have no brakes. I have to take a mountain bike and transfer to the bus. Although it is inconvenient, the process is wrong. The children experience the same transportation feeling. It is a mountaineering train. When you go to a certain station, you will turn back and turn back. I think it is wrong. It was necessary to turn the tracks. My family of 4 people came, booked a 2-person room, because two children, the hotel explained well, no request to add money, only worried that my wild food is not enough, because I am eating 4 small food, so the problem is not big. Because it is a hot spring hotel, there is no shower facilities in the room, so you must bring your own towels to the hot springs. On the other hand, because of the two-person room, the hotel staff only made the bed for two people. Understandable and acceptable. Because only two people are paid. There is no wild shopping near the hotel, so you have to buy snacks in the hotel. Finally, the Mile Hotel is near Bailihe Bus Station. It is not Taotai Station, so you should clearly check the station at the time.
