The hotel is located in a tourist area, about a 10-15 minute walk from the bus stop and 15-20 minutes from the train station. The hotel itself is a bit dated. Dinner was a kaiseki meal and breakfast was Japanese style, which might be a bit challenging for some tourists. For dinner, there were two choices: steak and lobster (one was decent, the other not so much 🥲). The private onsens were large, spacious, atmospheric, and beautiful – we really enjoyed them. The public onsen was small, with an indoor section and a small outdoor terrace (which was dirty after the typhoon in the morning, with leaves, bugs, spiders, etc., not cleaned). There weren't many guests at the hotel. We found a huge centipede on our floor 😅😁. Both dinner and breakfast were served in our room.

The hotel is a bit old, but it has all the necessary hot spring facilities. What's especially great is the option to book a private hot spring. There are more choices for private hot springs compared to other places, and most of them are natural outdoor springs. Their secluded locations mean you might encounter more insects, but it gives you a wonderful feeling of being close to nature. The location is suitable for those traveling by car, as it's up in the mountains. Car travelers should be aware that Google Maps might not provide accurate directions to the hotel.

Our stay at Musashino Bekkan in Hakone was a beautiful and unforgettable experience. The hospitality was exceptional, with staff who made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. The ryokan’s traditional design and serene atmosphere enhanced the charm of our visit. The hot spring baths were a true standout—immaculately maintained and incredibly calming, with natural spring water that left us feeling refreshed. Our room blended comfort and traditional aesthetics perfectly, and the kaiseki dinner showcased refined flavors and beautiful presentation. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend Musashino Bekkan to anyone seeking a luxurious and authentic ryokan stay.

This hotel is a paradise in the mountains of Hakone! Traditional style of the rooms - it feels like you are living in a Japanese family. We were prepared a traditional dinner, which was served in our room. It was very tasty and varied! The hotel has 3 onsen: 2 - private, 1 - public. We visited only the private ones (you need to book a time in advance at the reception upon check-in, the visit time is 30 minutes). It was wonderful! The hotel also provides a transfer from and to the nearest train stations. The rooms are clean, cozy, we slept on tatami under soft blankets. The hotel has a relax room. With massage chairs and a very quiet atmosphere. We stayed in this room after visiting the onsen and got great relaxation. And you are also given national clothes for rest and sleep. It is very beautiful and cute. Breakfasts were also in kaiseki style - varied and unusual. The hotel staff is very kind and friendly. this hotel allows tattoo baths. great experience, thank you very much! want to come back again!

We loved the springs and the authentic experience. The whole hotel is designed to become a place for rest and relaxation. Dinner was great, and breakfast was a bit unusual for us, as we did not quite get the food (it was unusual for us). Overall, I would recommend staying here.

A true Japanese experience. The onsen was amazing, we were a family and loved it. We also had a great experience with breakfast and dinner, very Japanese! Totally recommend it

The people who served us the meals, especially the elderly woman, were very kind and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Unfortunately, the experience with the housekeeping staff was quite the opposite. One man entered our room without asking while we were recording a light-hearted video, which made the whole situation feel very awkward. Overall, they came across as rude and also refused to keep our luggage for us. On top of that, guests are charged if they bring food from outside. The staff didn’t respond to messages on the trip app, nor did they provide any guidance on which buses to take to get around
